Citres

Citres

Citres is a minimalistic Japanese city building game.

There are no dozens of different types of buildings or macro resource management in the game. In this game you buy packs of buildings for Yen - in-game currency, which contains random buildings in the form of Tetris figures. By placing buildings correctly, you will receive Yen to buy new packs, as well as expand the city by filling houses with new residents, which will bring you closer to the discovery of new unique buildings. Building buildings of the same type in the shape of a square will upgrade them, here the skills of playing Tetris will come in handy.

What’s in the game:

  • Simple and straightforward gameplay

  • Procedurally generated island

  • Japanese atmosphere with relaxing soundtrack[/]

Although this title does not support English, its playable to an extent thanks to its general city building concepts. Has promise, looking forward to if the dev adds support for English.

Great game with loads of content and mods to keep the game fun. New DLC’s are a big reason why I’m still playing this game after so many years. I wouldn’t recommend buying them for the full price though, they are quite expensive. Just wait for a sale where most of them are 50% off.

If you’re into building stuff from scratch, loved Sim City, and cannot help yourself trying to do something better and more beautiful, buy the game. There’s nothing better. Be prepared to give a healthy chunk of your life, you budding City Planner!

Intuitive design, layered sophistication in game play, and plenty of mods and tools keeps you engaged for hundreds of hours.

I’m a relative amateur with a mere 339 hours of playtime. Just saying.

Enjoy!

Don’t buy.

  • Unfinished game

  • Bugs

  • The “realistic economics” in this game leaves a lot to be desired and calling it realistic is laughable.

  • The dev has been MIA since early October (within weeks of release).

  • Developer is either a huckster or lacks any sense of professionalism.

The misrepresentation that you are buying a finished game on the store page and the fact that the developer just disappeared makes me feel as if I’ve been had. The excuse on discord by some person who is not the dev is that he has a family and he takes long breaks. Make of that what you will, but I will not buy another product from this developer.

You simply can’t play more extreme ideologies anymore (Left & Right) which Is kinda where alot of the fun came from. Everything needs to be balanced. It’s okay but at some point you’ll run into bugs that remove zones not just buildings and tank everything. Tbh it gets boring after it happens a few times. Oh and after many hrs my political leaning instantly went from 47-53 to 100-0 to the left which sent everyone into a riot and the whole city was destroyed. That right there is a game breaking bug. I’d honestly say buy the first one. I’m not hating btw, I actually really wanted to like it.

Highrise Mogul

Highrise Mogul

I’d recommend the game.

It’s a simple build your tower the way you want kinda game. Graphics are good for the game, simple but it matches the feel. Game play itself is fairly easy to pick up, just a little figuring out what works and what doesn’t for the increase and decrease of either offices or residential as well as the businesses you install.

My only complaints at this time are that there’s kind of a problem with keeping employees happy. I’ve got a bunch of businesses and breakrooms, however, janitors leave pretty much every other day and I have to rehire them en masse when i notice that floors are crazy trashed. I only wish that on that account, either people would use the trash cans more or that there were a way to easily see what employees are missing out on to be able to keep them around.

Built a tiny cute tower filled with theaters and shops in the middle of the forest. The visitors were very rude and littered all over the place but other than that it was pretty cozy.

Game seems like a nice relaxing time from what I’ve played so far. Though the tutorial is a bit lacking and it took me a while to figure out everything. Looks like a lot of content to go through with all the researches available. Graphics are simple and cute and fit the game well.

Overall a great time!

I really enjoy this game! The perfect amount of challenge while still being great fun and just a little bit mindless since I play to relax and not to create more work for myself. I look forward to the next evolution of this game!

Very nice take on SimCity-style games. I especially enjoy the graphs of various metrics, and ability to really drill down into each silizen’s life. I am excited for continued development and look forward to how this game will evolve!

From a playability standpoint - on my laptop (8gb ram, i7 (4 cores @ 2.20GHz)) at lowest settings, the game plays reasonably when going on the 1x speed. Either of the faster speed options causes the game to become very choppy. Even when using 1980’s top-down style it seems to be quite slow (perhaps because that’s just a different camera angle?). Increasing simulation speed also seems to mess with the power grid distribution: when my network is not super-saturated with electricity, running at a faster simulation speed makes parts of my city run out of power. But if I turn it back down to 1x and wait a bit of time, all of the buildings will come back online.

SUBARACITY

SUBARACITY

I was always interested in this game when I saw it on the 3DS a long time ago but never went and bought it. It was lost in my memory until I saw it a few months back on sale and here I am reviewing it.

Subracity (I prefer the original, punny Japanese title of “Subarashi”) is a puzzle game that mashes match-3 and Tetris gameplay together into something that feels brand new. It’s harder than match-3 but easier than Tetris, I would say. By clicking on blocks with the same colour in the same vicinity, they stack into bigger buildings that can be combined with others to maximize your points. You have to be careful of running out of matchable blocks, because destroying blocks costs Mayor Points and you have a very limited supply of them. It’s easy-to-learn, hard-to-master game play as getting to the higher scores and cheevos takes practice and strategy.

Real player with 60.8 hrs in game

Fun for what it is, but very limited. So limited, in fact, that I already wrote a guide which I expect to need no upgrading, based on less than two hours of play.

The core of the game is falling blocks of four types (three in casual play) which are defined by the type of base. Each has something on it, a person, a tree, or a building, and as they merge they level up to level nine.

At level ten they all change from their original type to a white base, and can only merge with (any) other ten. Clusters of ten can merge into higher numbers, but those are locked, creating a definite end to the game eventually. (NOTE: I attempted selling them to open up the map, but you lose the points for the building, so that’s not a viable strategy.)
