I read the reviews on this game and honestly, I don’t know if can go by them or not anymore. I ordered the ultimate package so I would have the add-ons, paid the full $40, and for that amount I will be replacing every other game I own. Here is why…

I love Civ series games, Heroes of M&M, Age of Wonders, Endless legends, GalCiv etc, those types of games, but they always had me looking for ways to make: decisions, resources, battles, buildings, etc to mean more and to be more meaningful, more important in the game while not sacrificing anything too much. For me, Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes Ultimate pack is the game that finally did that in a satisfying way.

Empire building like Civ 5 + RPG elements + extensive customization for your army

It sounds like a winning combination, yes? Let’s find out..

First off, the ((tutorial)): videos and encyclopedia feature explains most of the basics very well, so the learning curve is pretty smooth. So even though it is clearly a complex game, it’s not hard to learn and play with most of the features. You still have to experiment yourself to master the customization features, which is great cuz such features are usually up to experienced players to make use of them anyway.

[DEMO CONTENT] One year ago, I came across a very interesting-looking web game called “Aground” and I was fascinated by the idea of playing a game reminiscent of “Minecraft” or “Terraria” directly in my browser. It starts like every other survival game: gather resources, build a shelter, upgrade your equipment and improve your efficiency.

But, the demo for the game had a lot of content to offer, so much so, that it felt like a fully fledged out game! I was really mesmerised when I later on found out that you could build advanced industrial gear, like guns or battery-powered equipment! After a while, I also discovered that there was a magic portion to the game and that it had an island and quest line dedicated to just that, which gave me access to enchanted equipment and unique materials. For a demo, the game has an unbelievably vast amount of content to offer, more than in any other demo I’ve ever seen before, you surely won’t regret giving it a try! ;^)

I love this game so much especially since I think it’s an indie game by three people and it’s only $10 as of when I bought it. I’ve already spent 30 hours playing and I’ve restarted a few times because I wanted to optimize my approach. What really got me was the free game on various flash sites and the playable demo which alone is around 7-10 hours depending on gameplay style.

I love the story so far, the graphics appeal to me since I’m an old school gamer (think late 80s, early 90s) where gameplay is much more important than flashy graphics wanting 160 fps. There is a story in it as well which is nice, but doesn’t take away from the game if you’re the sort who doesn’t like reading much, but it’s actually a pretty neat story. One thing I’d like to have the cutscenes as a replayable option in the menu when you unlock them. The music adds to the game and has atmosphere to it.

Beneath the Mountain is a dwarven city-builder and real-time-strategy game. Mine your way into the mountain, discover gold and silver, construct buildings, recruit an army, build traps, and defeat the vile creatures that lurk in the dark caves of the mountain. Most importantly, find the heart of the mountain before the orcs destroy your kingdom.

Beneath the Mountain is a top-down, isometric, 3D game that is meant to be played casually and can be put down and resumed at any time. The focus of the game is on expanding your kingdom (mining), constructing buildings, training and army, and setting traps. All of this plays out in a dark settings over multiple underground floors. Games are meant to be lengthy and challenging as you try to expand your kingdom while defending it from constant threat.

The Dwarven Sons of Ivaldi have reclaimed the mountain and begun their quest to forge masterpieces for the Gods.

When you learned of this, you struck out with your family, leaving the safety of the human kingdom to venture into the wilds to settle and establish trade with the Dwarves.

There you begin to grow your community from a tiny village into your own mighty Kingdom.

Assemble a party of heroes and begin your adventure into the unknown seeking treasure, fortune, and fame.

Dungeons and Kingdoms is a combination of city building and small party questing adventures.

Build

  • Modular building - Hundreds of modular building pieces available, build entirely custom structures and layouts piece by piece

  • Build Plans - You act as the build planner by placing all the pieces and build up modular buildings, then begin construction. Those build plans pass to the job system to be constructed by your workers. You can have many build plans in construction at the same time.

  • Full Preview - Build plans allow you to see what your buildings will look like fully connected and rendered in game. Your workers will only act on them when you start construction. You can cancel construction at no cost, so you can attempt endless Build Plans until you like what you see.

  • Edit buildings - Once placed and built, all building pieces can be removed or added allowing no end to how you customize and evolve your world

  • Assign Builder - Assign anyone for basic construction (fire pits, wood fencing etc) up to master builders for epic monuments and castles

  • Decorate - Hundreds of items available to decorate and furnish your kingdom

Blueprints

  • Save Build Plan as Blueprint - Start placing items as a build plan. When you have a collection of pieces you want to re-use (like a small house, or a smith) you can save the current build plan as a Blueprint. This allows you to place the entire Blueprint as a single building piece later, over and over.

  • Everything with Blueprints - You can use the Build Plan feature simply as a way to make many different Blueprints. Make a Build Plan, save as a new Blueprint, then Cancel the original Build Plan.

  • Excavate - Dig trenches and moats

  • Tunnel - Mine deep underground, building networks of mining cart tracks setting up functional production lines

  • Landscaping - Lower, raise or flatten the ground to customize the terrain for your kingdom

Grow Your Kingdom

  • Attract People - Either through increased wealth and prosperity, or great deeds by your heroes

  • Hire Specialists - Send word back to the neighboring kingdoms about specialty positions you need to hire

  • Trading - Negotiate trade with the local Dwarven city. Focus your early growth on what they need, trade for what you need, or what you can trade with other Kingdoms.

Manage Your Kingdom

  • Production - From peasants gathering mushrooms and berries to master masons sculpting great statues, assign your population to jobs to increase their skill.

  • Training - People will learn and improve at whatever job you assign them to, or send them off to other Kingdoms to learn special skills to bring back to your city.

  • Smart AI - While some of your people may not be geniuses, they are smart enough to go to work when something needs to be done. In other words, you don’t have to worry about getting bogged down micro managing everyone. You can be as involved as you want to be, but the more work you put in to managing your Kingdom, the more effective your population will be.

Survive

  • Risk - Outside the safety of city walls, the world is dangerous. From wild animals and other creatures, to bandits, and tribes of Orcs… or worse!

  • Economy and Production - Starting small, balance your growth with the available resources and trading partners to ensure your people survive

  • Defend - The more you have, the more others will want to take it. Building and maintaining defenses may make the difference between life and death.

Questing

  • Heroes - While most of your population will be regular people with jobs, you may attract, hire, or train up legendary heroes. Take your party of heroes on adventures and quests while leaving your kingdom to be run by the local council, or send your heroes out on their own.

  • Encounter Areas - The main map is for building your sprawling kingdom. Learn through rumors about quests where you assemble a party of heroes to adventure out into the wild including dungeons, over-world swamps and forests, crypts and other deadly lairs.

Play as Anyone

  • Perspective - All play modes are in either First or Third person

  • Variety - Your main character is the leader of your town, with the goal of eventually becoming a great ruler. You can also switch between any character in your Kingdom. Each character has their own unique skills and traits, training level, and inventory.

  • Skill - When you directly control a character, you may be able to increase that character’s production beyond their automated skill level by doing jobs manually

  • Automation - Perhaps you leave control of your city to your people and focus on adventures as one of your Kingdoms great heroes.

Combat

  • Weapons - Many different weapons to craft, buy, or loot, including swords, maces, hammers, axes, bows, crossbows, and several specialized weapons with many custom animations and sounds.

  • Custom Smithing - Either attract or train a smith of high enough skill, and build your own custom weapons with unique stats

  • Enemies - From neighboring enemy tribes of Orcs, to many different creatures and monsters ensures a diverse range of combat tactics and experience.

Sandbox Mode

Sandbox mode available - build anything you want without restriction or having to worry about resources, money, or dangers.

First of all, this game is absolutely worth playing if you are into oldschool PvP MMOs. No other game allows such in-depth character customization. Sandbox elements are present but are not annoying to the end of being “chop trees to gather lumber”. “Sandbox” here is actually building cities and demolishing your enemies' cities in sieges, hiring AI mercenaries to craft items which is another good part of this game, crafting isn’t about gathering 10 dragon scales and 1 mummy dust by repetitively killing monsters, it’s more about having mercenaries of right races placed in your forges and having resources from right zones in general, even city building (if you happen to own / manage one) is as simple as placing the building on the city grid and waiting several hours for it to go up in one click.

Overall an exceptionally poor experience.

So why do I have so many hours you ask? 1) nostalgia and 2) I played with friends, but neither of those points are positives to the game in particular. And also do not be mistaken, for an RPG 80% of this playtime was sitting afk while leeching experience from macro-bots which is what everyone uses.

So this game is mislabeled as a PVP title. It isn’t. It’s actually a zerg v zerg title and those battles are decided by sheer numbers. If it was a pvp game, you’d have skills which synergize with each other to allow for good and creative builds. Builds which later you can learn to play and get better as you get more accustomed to playing your toon. Not the case here. At first glance you have SO many races, professions and disciplines to combine that the options eem endless…until you realize that every profession has no more than 2 ways to build it if you want to be in any way viable. Yes, you CAN be a minotaur that uses unarmed fighting, except due to weapon skill restrictions (built into the races) and stat caps you’ll never be more than 20% of the strength of a proper polearm minotaur.

I knew the moment I laid eyes on this, I would most likely love it. It exceeded my expectations as a casual design & illustration tool that just about anyone can use. I have spent many hours putting together village & macro background scenes. The Sculpting tool allow you to create mountains, hills, lakes, rivers, as I see fit. The Painting tool allows you to create walkways. I can construct anything from realistic waterfalls to lost ruins with the Transformation tool to manipulate just about any object.

Wow, it’s difficult to say in words how impressive and relatively deep this instant gratification “game” is! Marketed as a game, but used by many as a 3D design tool. Oh, it’s not Maya, or Lightwave, or even Bryce or Blender, which is cool because we already have those. This is something different, and special, and FAST, and easy! And for all its limitations, what IS here is a lot deeper and impressive than you might imagine!

I’ve made a nice living from building scenes in 3D software for many decades, and I’ve spent countless hours working with wire-frames and pallets of textures and bump maps and lighting devices, and scratching my head over each new entries' exploration into the 3D modeling' procedures. It doesn’t replace those high-end spreads for many projects, but this WILL be replacing the high-rollers on a few projects and making my life so much easier!

WOW GUYS/GALS!!! Remember when you first started playing video games and you got into the fun adventures and were happy? This is how this game feels to me, its super good. Its great gameplay…..Lots of quests, gathering, building buildings and armies. cool story, skirmishes, all good stuff. Impressed with this game, I really am. 20.00 dollars is a little much maybe, more a 14 dollar I would think, but I am glad I got it. Also as you play it opens up more and more, like you are working towards a goal, I like that. I will say there are glitches here and there and graphics are not tops, but I can overlook it cause the game is cool.

I bought this to support the developer because I wish there were more games like this out there - games where you directly control a hero while also building a base and ordering units. This is kind of the perfect version of that kinda game but with every mechanic at its most basic level.

I’d recommend if you want to see more games like this, and I hope the developer continues to update it or work on a sequel or something similar. There’s some real charm to this game, and it is pretty fun for a while, but needs more features to really be worth the asking price. Even adding co-op/pvp would drastically increase the amount of content here.

The game is pay to win, yes. But you can still have fun playing it for free. For fans and lovers of Game of Thrones, I would recommend this game.

If you do not love or haven’t even heard of Game of Thrones, then I would still recommend this game if you like multiplayer and strategy/base building type of games

I would advise strong caution to you about whether you should spend money on this game. It’s so easy to spend money on games like this that suck you in with ‘special’ promotions. Do not fall for this marketing trick. The packs are not special, and they are offered to everybody.

I’ve spent the biggest part of last year playing this game, building, upgrading etc. I can honestly say - this game is by far one of the worst when it comes to forcing people to pay in order to, not only win, but to play as well. The game requires you to spend far too much time clicking around and playing it in order to advance at a relatively reasonable speed. However, after you grind and build and research and get stronger, you come to realise that all that time was wasted, because every part of this game is and was, and always will be, very strongly tipped to P2W side. Items in this game ARE NOT cheap. If you think you’ll spend a few bucks here or there and you’ll be set - this isn’t the game for you… Overall, after playing it for so long, I can honestly say it’s a rather boring game, but most ppl stay cause of people they’ve met playing. One more thing to note is their customer service, which is by far the worst I’ve ever seen in any game. So long story short:
