The Book of Regrets

The Book of Regrets

Not a bad hidden gem. I definitely enjoyed myself figuring out each ending. The story of the game is pretty good, and I loved the various endings. The price tag isn’t too bad, considering the kind of game you’re getting. There were some slight bugs I noticed in the game, but they didn’t appear that often and usually only if I was spamming the space button too quickly in certain areas. The fight scene in the end was a bit annoying, although it does add a bit something else to the gameplay. The puzzles in-game are way too easy, so if you’re looking for hard puzzles, you won’t find them in this game. However, the bulk of the game was figuring out what choices you should/shouldn’t make, so the puzzles weren’t much focus anyway (I think there are only 2 puzzles in-game).

Enjoyable & well-made - a true hidden gem of a game!

If you like Choose Your Own Adventure books/games, you must try this one. There is a choice to be made on every screen, and those choices can lead to vastly different outcomes and yield vastly different storylines. To get the full experience (and to understand the real story), multiple playthroughs are needed. However, each playthrough is never tedious, because you discover new things and start to figure stuff out. It took me around 4-5 hours to get most of the endings, including the “true” ending of the game (which was pretty ingenious btw).

Part choice VN, Part BA without the MO, other minigames thrown in. The voice acting and humour are on point, the story and gameplay surprisingly work well together. An interesting blend of genres.

This game is not at all like it is advertised. I go into it expecting a break and just clicking through what I assume to be an interesting story. Sadly what is it really, a dead moba that you can’t play because youre waiting on someone else to join.

Attentat 1942

Attentat 1942

I am certainly partial to games that tell a story. However, games that pass down important and historical information are even better. A game that can entertain and teach possesses a special power. Not only can the game effectively deliver important information that the player is more likely to retain than they would sitting in a history class, but it also engages them in such a way that the information becomes relevant and memorable. I know I’ll never forget how my hands sweat when the gestapo knocked on the door and I had to quickly find a way to nervously delay them. I was impressed with the mechanics during that mini game, and I think that games like this should be made available, and perhaps even replace, outdated teaching techniques in school.

Attentat 1942 is a FMV game, where you want to know, what happened with your father and mother in Prague at the Second World War.

What I really liked in the game, is how it looks. Now, the videos has all right quality, however the older cutscenes are made with comic styled, but more like newspaper version of that, and those cutscenes looked amazing. Everything is understandable from them and looked really nice.

About the story, I liked it really much. Reminds me of older stories from the same time, which I heard from my grandparents. It showed the war from a different perspective, which is not cover in history books or in TV properly. Most of the choices you can do in the game makes sense and bring the story forward. Characters have their motives and own story is really nice, however I need to mention, that these stories happened and that gives a whole new depth to it.

C14 Dating

C14 Dating

This game is fun, friendly, and sweet in the right amounts. I bought C14 Dating when it came out, then got busy with other things. It’s been a delight to get to play it now for the first time (January 2021). I enjoyed the game and would recommend it to anybody who is in the mood for a slice of life, mostly non-angsty story with a bit of thinking thrown in. While the story itself doesn’t focus heavily on the diversity angle, it’s nice to see representation of both disabilities and less typical potential love interests. I fell completely for the (very) tsundere, overly-diligent Kyler, but I ended up being fond of everyone.

I am disappointed in this game. I’ve purchased a number of the Winter Wolves game in the past and never had a problem. But this game seems to be glitched up for me. I basically tried to pick the Deandre route so many times following the guide for the Deandre route. But it seems to be glitched up. I tried it a number of times with minigames active, but that seems to end up still with alone route doing well in the field of archeology… Then I tried with mini games off, which still ends up with the alone route but with character deciding to try a different field.

Incredibly funny, and then actually really emotional in places.

I absolutely loved this game. The characters are great, it’s really funny and interesting seeing what suggestions people have given, and while the game uses more player suggestions that I was expecting, it still managed to keep some order in the chaos to deliver great characters and a really satisfying narrative.

I finished the main story in around 3 hours, but then kept replaying to see different pathways and unlock achievements/bonus scenes.

There is so much I could say about this game. It’s beautifully done for starters. It touches on a lot of extremely serious issues, some subtly, some much less so. All of them done with wit and charm one has come to expect from the genius of Cael, Elliot and the Hidden Track team. This game will put you through every emotion imaginable. I laughed, I cried, I felt afraid and everything in between. The art style was simplistic, yet unique and beautiful. Once again, to be expected as a Hidden Track project. The sounds were spot on. And DO NOT get me started on the plot twists. I genuinely did not see them coming. It was so easy to lose myself in the worlds they created. And the characters… There were a couple I will love forever, and a couple I will loathe forever, yet another feeling not oft invoked in me. Honestly, I could go on and on, but you’re probably tired of my rambling praise at this point. Needless to say, though I was cautiously optimistic when they gave it to me to try, I fell hard and fast and will be purchasing copies for friends as soon as I’m able. 10 of 10 a must play.
