Farm Life: Natures Adventure

Farm Life: Natures Adventure

https://youtu.be/QM1K4mrq2zE

Poorly optimised android port and/or an unfinished port. But as not in early access approach this as a full game.

Way too buggy, including game ending faults at the moment. Not sure the game will contain enough levels to even compete within the genre with the gameplay coming across as cookie cutter. The engine feels clunky and delayed.

The fun of the game is not coming from challenge or story for me.

The tutorial shouldn’t even exist as it explains the easier sections of the game, then does not even touch on the more complex areas and the help files aren’t helpful.

Veeeeery clunky controls and game breaking bugs. The first time the game hicked up completely, couldn’t even get past entering all the data for creating the farm. On the second save I bought a milktool by accident and every NPC now says “Thanks for buying that.”, rendering me unable to purchase anything. I also have one strawberry seed I can plant endlessly. Developer, try harder please.

I can’t recommend this to anyone other than those that want to support VR development.

Sorry, but I was thoroughly unimpressed with every single aspect of this project. I’m not sure I would have even been impressed 3 years ago. It’s just not a good game. Period. The graphics are uninspired. In a world with Alexa and Siri, the voice recognition and responses are pathetically limited. In a world with Half Life: Alyx, this hardly even qualifies as a VR tech demo… even for a mobile VR platform, let alone the Vive Index I played on.

This is an approximately 13 minute cinematic experience, which has varying scenes depending on your voiced answers. This is like a 360 stereoscopic video, choose your own adventure type experience, which is like the stuff on Amaze VR. You don’t use motion controllers at all. It can be fun to try to find new scenes based on your novel responses. Unfortunately, even though the reviewer VR Focus said the AI was good, the AI responses really aren’t good and have severe limitations … but they can be funny (I wouldn’t trust VR Focus who seems more concerned about clicks than accuracy in his reports).

The Away Team: Lost Exodus

The Away Team: Lost Exodus

Don’t be fooled by its simple, rétro appearance and pixel graphics: this is a real hidden gem, with very solid writing and an interesting plot that will keep you playing, solar system after solar system, gameplay minutes turning into hours, wondering what will happen next, both to you and to your crew members.

The game has a lot in common with choose-your-own-adventure gamebooks (when your humans explore planets, you’ll have to help them decide what they’ll do, pulling a lever, exploring a certain zone, being friendly or hostile, and different choices of course mean different consequences), but adds to it a simple but effective simulation part (you have to carefully manage your fuel and food reserves, and find more if you deplete one or the other) and a deeply interesting crew member personality system, which adds a ton of replayability: a strong farmer will act, speak and perform differently than a genial but disabled scientist.

The year is 2127. Earth has been destroyed, made uninhabitable by war, climate change and famine. You play as the AI on a ship containing the last known humans in the universe. Can you keep them alive as you search for a new home?

The Away Team is superbly written interactive fiction, a modern day ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ set in space. There are survival elements too, in that you have to scavenge planets for food fuel; otherwise you’ll end up starving, or stranded in space forever.

The graphics are basic, but for what’s essentially a sci-fi novel, they fit well enough. The music is atmospheric and calming, the sort of thing you can have a good afternoon nap to (I’m so rock and roll, I know).

Sorry, but I’m not satisfied with this test. The mind gymnastics was nice but I left this test not finding a closure. I wish Steve would start cracking up a joke or become heart-to-heart with me, just like the other test givers.

The questions are disorganized and far too odd. I don’t see the pattern leading up to my first answer.

On the good side, the music is fine. The ending managed to make me feel… an unknown yet strong emotion. I can’t quite put my finger on it. The questions do make me think about what really matters to me in a life or death situation,

Kinda like those psychological tests you can do on the internet, but more fun.

I like to review hypothetical scenarios and think about how I would actually choose in those situations.

Like all kinds of those tests tho, some questions could really use some more context or additional Information as sometimes several choices could be the “best choice” for survival, depending on the circumstances of the individual situation.

My result was: Very high chances of survival on the mental asylum through planning and manipulation of the other patients and the asylum staff.

I’m sorry to say that this game is very unimpressive, regardless it being free. The instructions are on the steam page if you wish to find out how to play, therefore it jumps you right into the game. There is sooooo much wasted empty space. The matching eggs and so forth can easily be put into a simple smaller grid. The description describes like you can compete against someone, but If you can, I have no idea.

This Game! Bro… This game Right here! I haven’t actually finished it, because there are a LOT of questions…. But what I did play was super funny! I played this on Twitch. Me, my chat, and even hubby who was in the room with me were cracking up! We were blown away by some of these questions and DEF NOT for kids… But fun and hilarious for streaming if you want a fun interactive just chatting game. 10 out of 10 recommend for adults

Code word: Basic

Woul rate this game with a 6/10 (In comparison their game “The Journey - Episode 1” of the same developer would get a 10/10 from me.)

Pros:

  • Unique

  • Nice art

  • Interesting questions

  • Potential to make you accidentally shout “What? No way!” at your screen out loud XD ( – Actually did that. My poor soft-hearted pet nearly had a heart attack XD)

  • Got a bit faster to the point in the beginning than in the Test series, though sadly not as fast as in the journey.

  • You get to add a code word to your “collection”
