ШХД: ЛЕТО / IT’S SUMMER

You just woke up after a midday nap in your country house surrounded by the swishing sound of turntable. You are 8 years old. It’s Summer is an indie video game which genres are “sandbox”, “babushka”, and “midday nap”. The game has neither goal nor sense. There are only you, cheap tea bags with russian tears and the endless yellow field.

The game itself is integral part of the Digital-opera “ШХД: ЛЕТО”. This project also contains a book, LP record, series of digital-art collaborations and something more. ШХД: ЛЕТО is the second and final part of the project ШХД: ЗИМА (It’s Winter).

I like the idea of the command blocks: you don’t write a code, but learn how it works. It didn’t have to be a VR game, by the way. I would love to play on PC or mobile. Overall, this is a great VR puzzle game.

Laid-Back Camp - Virtual - Fumoto Campsite

Laid-Back Camp - Virtual - Fumoto Campsite

Fumoto Comf!!! This version is really full of cuteness and healing especially because of Nade’s energy and the giant fluffy dog. The price might not be worth it for those who aren’t into the anime or into CGDCT, but it’s a great game for fans of Yuru Camp and those who want to see Nadeshiko’s radiant cuteness and to pet a dog. The graphics are the same technically the same as the Motosu version, only a bit duller because there’s no animated lake, but still a nice treat especially since we get to see the sunrise in retrospect to the 3rd episode of Season 1. Same criticisms from the Motosu version too, needs a bit more interactivity, music, and exploration, but definitely gives you tons of comfort and healing. The new OST during the sunrise is also a huge plus (sasuga Akiyuki Tateyama again).

Now that the comfiest game ever has been made, it’s all downhill from here…

This follows the standard Gemdrops formula of being a 20-30 minute anime episode in VR with barely any interaction, only 2 or 3 characters and only 1 environment while selling for $25 (or $20 in the case of this game). It’s honestly not a great formula. There’s a lot of missed opportunity for camp-based interactivity like setting up a tent, making a fire, cooking some food, etc. They like releasing on all platforms including mobile, Switch, etc, though, so it’s unlikely they’ll start improving upon the formula any time soon.

Ragdoll: Fall Simulator

Ragdoll: Fall Simulator

A funny game, because here you can launch our character from any abyss, as well as everything is pretty well worked out.

The physics is good here, as well as the graphics are not bad

It’s hard to call it a game. It seems to me that it looks more like a blank, some kind of sketch, or something like that. This game cannot be played corny. Your character constantly falls into the walls, reacts strangely to the environment, and the controls work crookedly. I believe in the best and hope that the developer will fix everything.

Gedel Escape

Gedel Escape

The plot of the game

Dominic Stewart is an adventurer in deep space. On board the SBS-M72 spacecraft, he studies one galaxy after another in order to find traces of his father, who did not return from another expedition several years ago.

During the next trip, Dominic’s ship falls into a black hole and through the curvature of space finds itself in a previously unexplored system near the planet Gedel. The ship is wrecked.

The star next to which Gedel is located has gravitational instabilities, as a result of which bursts of space-time distortion occur every 12 hours. The entire planet falls into a time loop and rolls back a planetary day ago. Gödel exists on the same day every time. To get out of the planet Dominic needs to overcome time…

Features of the game

The main enemy is time

Time on the planet Gödel is divided into planetary cycles. At the end of each cycle, everything that is there disappears from the inventory. The exception is items that are placed in protected slots. But there are only five of them! You have to choose what to save in these slots: resources, crafted items, or something else you need to survive?

Jetpack flights

From the start, the player has access to a jetpack, with which he can fly around the world of Gedel and visit all the most inaccessible places. But keep in mind that the jetpack consumes energy, so for long flights you will need a lot of batteries!

Crafting system

All items are immediately available for creation. All you need is resources. But while you mine their planetary cycle will end and the contents of the inventory will be reset to zero. In pursuit of crafted items, you can stay at a broken trough!

Resource management

You need to constantly choose what to focus on: survival or completing quests. There is not much time, and each planetary cycle may be the last.

Puzzle

The world of the planet Gedel is filled with mysteries. Solving them, you get to know the plot of the game, the history of the planet and get useful things.

Drug Business

Drug Business

Drug Business- Single player simulation game.

You live in a poor area of the city, where there is no job and practically no one has any money. The only way to make money is to break the law and embark on a criminal path. Even the bar, unexpectedly inherited from a deceased uncle, cannot solve your problems. The institution does not make a profit: the contingent leaves much to be desired, and so does the furnishings (shabby walls, old furniture, cheap food and drinks). You understand that the money you have will not be enough to develop this business.

Laid-Back Camp - Virtual - Lake Motosu

Laid-Back Camp - Virtual - Lake Motosu

As the biggest fan of Yuru Camp, it’s super comfy!! The price might not be worth it for those who aren’t into the anime or into CGDCT, but it’s a great game for fans of Yuru Camp and those who want to experience something calm and comfy once in a while. The graphics are pretty nice; it might need a little more detail to the environment and further exploration of the whole Koan Campground area instead of being stuck in two places, but I guess that’s how most VR story-telling games work. The story is pretty much what you’d expect from a Yuru Camp episode, pure comfy and heartwarming cuteness that makes me love the two girls even more. I even like the small bit of NadeRin moment at the end of it~ Though I wish there was more to the gameplay and interactivity to make us feel more immersed in the campsite.

First of all, at the time of this writing the listing says “VR Only” but you can totally play it without.

I have played it with and without. VR Headset is an HP Reverb G2 and working without problems. Also take note that this is more an “experience” than is a “game”.

For the price, as much as I’d like to, is hard to justify if you don’t have VR headset.

The interactions are limited and the game could use some chilling music during downtime if you just want to stay in a scene.

The graphics are okay but it’s nothing groundbreaking. The atmosphere in the scenario greatly improves during the noon/evening and night, but it feels a bit cheap during the morning. I’m wondering if it has taken some damage on the PC release being a cross-platform title that includes android phones.

This is the perfect pirates game. i spent years trying to play this game but my computers never allowed me. now i have had the chance to fully play this game i have to say it has given me hour of fun. do you want to be a merchant and become the wealthiest man in the Caribbean and trade your way to power, or become a privateer and attack your nations foes and bring riches and glory to your nation or do you want to be a feared pirate who will attack anything on sight for wealth and reputation and be the most fearsome man in the Caribbean sea. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

This game is not “good.” It has an extremely high learning curve, no tutorial, a clunky interface, poorly laid out and unintuitive quest objectives, sub-par writing, semi-frequent crashes, and is heavily dependent on the community “Combined Mod” to smooth out its rough edges.

That said, it is the best pure Pirate RPG available. But that probably says more about the gaping hole that exists in the market and less about this game itself. Aside from the brief but very welcome tangent that the Assassin’s Creed franchise took with Black Flag we have not seen a good single player pirate RPG in a long time; probably since Sid Meier’s Pirates. So if you need your pirate fix and are willing to take the time to learn this game, then you will be satisfied. But I can’t help but wonder why we haven’t seen a better Pirate game made.

Aquarelle

Really unpleasant gaming experience. Incorrect/buggy settings, and even when these were finally fixed by lots of fiddling baout, the game is still virtually unplayable due to the unskippable tutorial, which is just awful. Definitely do not recommend. Dreadful.

7 out of 10 user reviews.. purchased reviews mind you.. gave this game a positive review.

  • sniff * * sniff *

..Something smells really fishy and really foul here.

This game is mediocre at best, but with all the bugs and broken controls, I’d give this game a 3 out 10 .. IF it was $5 USD.

…It’s NOT $5 or under however, and instead this developer has priced this POS at a ridiculous $60 USD price tag!

Hey dev.. you could price this game at “$69 million USD”, but that wouldn’t make it a better game or worth more. - JS.

ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos

ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos

A warning, this is a Visual Novel, not an Action Game.

For players wishing to learn how to find the different branches, there seems to be, in general 4 Heroine Endings, each with Good and Bad, and after each ending, the start screen will display a silhouette of the “heroine”’s ending you unlocked. The first 2 times you play the game, you will unlock “extras” in the next playthrough, so Ending Meteora will be the first, after that, you will be capable of unlocking the second branch for Endings Noa and Anima, and after any of them, you unlock the ability to open the final branch, to the Coco Ending (Final).

This is the best VR game I’ve played so far this year and the #1 VR VN I’ve played to date by a long shot!

The first ending is around 3 hours in but it’s more like a prelude. The full game has about 15 hours of content to get all the endings and each branch adds huge swaths of story and character development so you really feel compelled to play through them all. There are also a couple music videos built into the story that you can go back and revisit any time which gives you some reason to boot up the game every now and then even after 100% completing it. Music videos in VR are awesome!
