Trivia Night

Not nearly enough questions, and typos and lack of variety. Fell asleep playung it so wasn’t allowed a refund.

It is alpha though apparently so let’s see. The response time and interface etc is well done but I cannot recommend it alas.

Awkward

Awkward

A really solid and well-made party game, it’s like a piece of art in my steam library.

  • Haven’t encountered a single bug/glitch

  • Fun, entertaining and trippy artwork

  • Clean user interface

  • Great sound design

  • The way the gentleman pops up and says “Awkward!”, is a really nice touch

  • Native controller support, which is something that can be overlooked in these sorts of games

  • The “super awkward” update essentially sorted out the only issue the game had, which was the wait for round 3

So what is Awkward?

It’s a simple yet addictive opinion guessing game. It’s fun with a friend or partner but should be most fun in a group where you try to do better than the others. I found the comparison with the “rest of the world” to be less interesting than I had hoped, so I can’t really recommend playing solo.

Final verdict: Wait for a sale!

Strongest point: A game in your steam library you can play with any person. Plus: Geat artstyle.

10mg: Locked In

10mg: Locked In

So it doesn’t have a pause menu. So the only way to exit the game is to complete it or force close it. Which is weird. I enjoy the 2 player nature of it. However it is only a 20 minute game. I noticed a couple spelling mistakes in the text. Nothing that makes it unreadable but the occasional missing “the”

The plot I won’t spoil but I find it kinda meh. One of the characters solutions is wildly irresponsible finance wise and money is a plot point though. There are better visual novels out there. Overall I can’t recommend this game. It is part of a 10mg bundle so don’t let it dissuade you.

Tape to Tape

Tape to Tape

The addictive gameplay loop of a Roguelike campaign in a Hockey game? Start with a below-average team and progressively improve it with the choices you make during each successive runs. Unlock new players, buy and upgrade equipment, discover new storylines. Stay tuned, updates are coming shortly with more details!

Gameplay

Tape to Tape combines the fast-paced gameplay of 90s hockey games with the gameplay enhancements of modern games, combining the best from arcade and sim-like games. Modern hockey games are focused on emulating real hockey games. The games are centered around puck possession and slower gameplay. Tape to Tape is much faster with more emphasis on speed and counter-attacks while staying true to the sport of hockey.

On offense, the players’ can easily skate across the ice thanks to the skaters’ high acceleration and maximum speed. With the tap of a button, the player can pass the puck successively for high-speed counter-attacks.

On defense, the speed-burst mechanic allows players to always be in the middle of the action and deliver crushing body checks anywhere on the ice.

The game features hand-drawn 2D player sprites and animations within a 3D environment. The game is visually different from everything else on the market. 2D animation allows the game to have much more personality in its design and animations!

We can’t wait to show more of the game!

Life’s Playground

Life’s Playground

It’s pretty bad

Real player with 3.4 hrs in game

Overview

Life’s Playground is an indie board game that draws inspiration from Monopoly, Pay Day, and LIFE, and puts their characteristics into one single randomly-generated board game which appears to go only in a single direction, but once the player passes the sunset square at the end, they magically appear at the sunrise square at the very beginning. Games allow for two to four players, and can be set to have a time limit of twenty-four, thirty-six, or sixty laps (“months” as the game calls laps) or “survival” which has no time limit and ends when only one player remains. Players have jobs which earns them money upon completing a lap around the board, and properties can be purchased which can be upgraded on a player’s very next turn. (The player may purchase all three upgrades for a property at the same time if they so wish, and upgrade multiple properties at their discression.) Apart from money, the game also features Fortune Points which can gained and lost through chance and used to either count towards a player’s final score or used to cover costs if the player does not have enough cash to otherwise make a payment.

Rhythm Brawl

Rhythm Brawl

as of alpha build 2.2 here are the pros and cons of Rhythm Brawl.

cons:

the notes aren’t really synced to the music, pretty slow, no support for arrow keys when playing songs, and the AI is pitifully easy. I mean even on master mode I kicked there butts 23,000 to 6,000

pros:

songs have potential to be pretty good in a rhythm games, I find the voice clip for the character select to be absolutely hilarious and I want it to never be changed, and pixel art is pretty good.

bugs:

the sound waves on the title screen are not working right at all and could probably give someone a seizure.

this is a nice game and i love the idea behind it, kind of like the guitar battles in guitar hero 3.

not gonna lie at current time the game is a bit unplayable but has a bunch of potential to be great, the graphics are nice and i love the character designs, music is a little underwhelming but alright for the start of development (haven’t played all the songs yet so i will update this when i have), i do recommend people try this out if you are a fan of rhythm games as i can see a battling rhythm game being massively loved if giving a chance to grow and guided by the rhythm games community.
