Death Trash

Death Trash

I made a poor narrative choice when I killed every character that looked important, and looking back it was definitely a wrong decision to experience the game, but it’s still nice to have that freedom. Overall the game is a competent tribute to the Fallout series, although I do think that further into the story the game falls apart in terms of difficulty scaling and itemization. There are so many moving parts with a game like this, even the UI would have to be pretty complicated to put everything together, so despite having some polish issues, I still think the dev did a decent job. Notably, the game feels like it was designed with a controller in mind, the way you change the items often involves cycling, which is only ideal if you have limited buttons, and I wish it was more straightforward for the keyboard. Interestingly, the combat also features stamina-based moves, even though I would not qualify it as a souls-like, it still has some similarities when it comes to the melee gameplay. Now I wouldn’t say the game has a great pixel-timing with the enemy attacks, the way you block needs to be more rewarding, I would often get hit right after blocking or dodging - it really depends on the enemy.

One of the first things you encounter in Death Trash is a giant Fleshkraken. A disturbingly pinkish, pulsating, fleshy mass of tentacles, seemingly embedded and sticking out of a wall. Next to him is his human guardian that tells you his ward has been a bit silent lately. Turns out, the Fleshkraken can speak to you, in simple words, but enough to tell you that he wants something. This pops up your first side quest. It’s immediately obvious that from here on out, things can only get more weird, bizzare and definitely more twisted.

The Yawhg

The Yawhg

Initially, when I first heard of this game, I just figured, “hey, this looks kinda neat but I’m not paying $10 for it becuase I’m a lousy cheap-ass.” It looked like a cool concept to me and if it looks like a cool concept to you, then you’re perhaps in for something of a treat.

Now, when I first played it on my own, I wasn’t particularly entertained. I mean, yes, the different story paths were somewhat interesting and the various different endings were kinda cool but I wasn’t really absorbed into it. It was just something I used to make a good 45 minutes pass by one day when I was feeling bored. Then, while with some friends the other night, I decided to pull it out because we all needed a game to play and this just so happened to be multiplayer and seemed like a nice change of pace from the usual stuff we always tend to play (e.g. Genital Jousting, Jackbox Party Pack, etc.) What I didn’t expect was for us to keep playing over and over again for several more hours, as we found ourselves unusually entertained by this strange little game.

The Yawhg

The Yawhg is a quaint little game. The premise is simple, you control up to four characters in the weeks leading up to a great disaster known as The Yawhg. Nobody knows the Yawhg is coming, and you can only command your characters so far in that you pick an activity for them to complete each week.

Your characters will gain stat points for the activity you choose. For example, chopping wood increases strength. But random events will also happen, so while chopping wood you might meet a dryad, and they’ll ask you to dance. If your character has a high finesse score, you can impress the dryad with your dancing and receive a reward.

The addictive gameplay loop of a Roguelike campaign in a Hockey game? Start with a below-average team and progressively improve it with the choices you make during each successive runs. Unlock new players, buy and upgrade equipment, discover new storylines. Stay tuned, updates are coming shortly with more details!

Gameplay

Tape to Tape combines the fast-paced gameplay of 90s hockey games with the gameplay enhancements of modern games, combining the best from arcade and sim-like games. Modern hockey games are focused on emulating real hockey games. The games are centered around puck possession and slower gameplay. Tape to Tape is much faster with more emphasis on speed and counter-attacks while staying true to the sport of hockey.

On offense, the players’ can easily skate across the ice thanks to the skaters’ high acceleration and maximum speed. With the tap of a button, the player can pass the puck successively for high-speed counter-attacks.

On defense, the speed-burst mechanic allows players to always be in the middle of the action and deliver crushing body checks anywhere on the ice.

The game features hand-drawn 2D player sprites and animations within a 3D environment. The game is visually different from everything else on the market. 2D animation allows the game to have much more personality in its design and animations!

We can’t wait to show more of the game!

I was just browsing the store for a cheap game and found this wonderful game. I had no idea what the game was like and immediately saw the art style which already settled the deal for me. I enjoyed the overall gameplay the most however. It was your standard RPG game except for the fact where you get to pick your main character and 3 others to follow which will later on impact your game. I also enjoyed the aspects of the rivalry system the game had to offer and

! the different ending that you can achieve in the game . The game had several unique aspects to it that really made me happy when i bought this game. I plan on playing this game more and grinding up those achievements! This game really is a game that will stick with me for a long time.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame

This LEGO game is not like the others. Whether this change is for the better, it is hard to say as there are certainly pros and cons to each style of game. This installment focuses more on open-world aspects rather than the episodic nature that its predecessors provided. Players are sent to various different planets (levels) to collect master bricks that progress the narrative forward with the help of a number of different tools to solve each planets puzzles (paint wand, grapple gun, power fists, etc). Players must also use build-ables (trampolines, sprinklers, generators, etc.) to traverse the planets using bricks the player collects from destroying the environment. This provides players with a greater sense of control when deciding where to go next and how to tackle problems. However, it still falls into the same trap as previous games in that certain puzzles can only be solved by progress further in the story and ultimately completing it. This means that players must still redo every level over again if they want to achieve that 100% goal. Not that surprising given the rest of the LEGO games but annoying none the less. Additionally, the story relates vaguely to that of the movie it is based off of. It uses the same characters, but fails to follow the narrative established in the film even changing core plot points to fit the games design. This led to a significant disconnect between gameplay elements and the overall story-arc. In the end, I did 100% this LEGO game, as I always do, and I did enjoy it more than the aging gameplay mechanics that previous installments have provided; however, this style of LEGO game needs a little more work before I will be fully on-board with it.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is not a typical Lego Game, its more like, when Lego Worlds was in EA (Early Access) but with The LEGO Movie 2 elements, like Characters, Worlds and Buildlings.

Controlls are better and this time also keyboard friendly. It works a bit like in Lego Worlds but simpler.

You have a lot of Quests to do, they are very simple so that even smaller childs could do it. With every Quest you complete you can get prints for buildings, a lila stone (on other Lego Games they where golden or red) or some items that need a shop to open it. (bad tongues would say “a few typs of loot boxes” but you cant buy them with real money ^^). The last reward can also be found with golden chests you find by explore the map.

15.09.2021

Recommend this game :smilekit:

19.08.2021 Unpolished and raw, but decent.

Ehh not best hitboxes (yours and enemies). Simplified combat. Sometimes input delay/response for your combination feels junky.

Prepare for no poise, counter hit bull$hithsu from punched enemies- they are being hit and hit you back(i understand that is an icon mechanism to track) Crowd control is not pleasent to play (prepare to spam safe move: “forward forward +P).

Fist attack needs to have bigger vertical hitbox, when enemies are very close you are unable to hit mob, or grab them

As a 43 years old gamer, I had the opportunity to play many beat’em up games on arcades. Golden Axe, Final Fight, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Captain Commando, Punisher and much more. I loved them all. Now, thanks to several game developers we are able to get similar experiences again. Dragon’s Crown on PlayStation, Streets of Rage 4, Mayhem Brawler and the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge are some of the very nice examples.

The art style, graphics, sounds and the general atmosphere of this game is quite good. It’s a tad slow for my liking, but still it’s good and very well varied. Instead of dozens of same enemies with different colors, Hero Concept made themed enemies per stage. I like it.

The Mole Men

The Mole Men

The Mole Men is a very addictive 2D action game up to 4 players and you should buy it !

Here’s why :

  • The rogue lite aspect of the game gives the player many possibilities, as there are many equipments and skills available for the character. There are also many differents missions like rescuing a NPC or finding and destroying computer servers. Some of the missions unlock new classes to the character that change the way they will be played. The replay value is great !

  • Its gameplay needs practice first but when mastered, it gives the player the feeling of accomplishment as they will kill group of enemies without taking damage and will successfully avoid lava by using the rope. With this fast-paced gameplay, it has great tools to be a speedrun potential game.
