I Loved It. It’s one encounter, 3v4, but it was so much fun. Really helped fill that D&D itch I’ve been having. If you like table top and want a combat situation then get this and play it!

Aeon of Sands - The Trail

Aeon of Sands - The Trail

Aeon of Sands is an unconventional dungeon crawler with a unique aesthetic, witty writing and gameplay that will challenge even the most seasoned player.

The action takes place across a large number of dungeons reachable via a world map which is vaguely reminiscent of some older games in the genre (SSI Gold Box games / Realms of Arkania). However not all locations are accessible in a single playthrough with many areas being accessible only if you make certain choices, have certain objects or party members. The “dungeons” are not strictly underground complexes either but include cities, outdoor areas, installations, etc…

In short the game is nice, but it has many annoying shortcomings.

I liked:

  • the world and its spotty lore, it is well done.

  • the retro graphic is exactly i was hoped for.

  • quest story is not so great. I expected something more heroic, but it fits well into the world setting.

  • dungeons are large and full of illusion walls and secret buttons. It is fun to find them, but also it is mandatory, so it could be frustrating on long run.

I didn’t like in UI:

  • text descriptions was artistic but strange, like it was written by a non-english writer.

This is getting me really addicted :D

Fun little game that gets astoundingly difficult in later levels. Definitely consider buying it if you enjoy traditional puzzle games of the likes of Sokoban. Contains enough levels to provide days if not weeks of intense pondering.

Maze Mayhem

Maze Mayhem

ARE you burnt out on massive games that requires hours upon days to finish, let alone complete?

DO you find yourself enjoying simple, yet deceptively challenging games?

IS a third question even required at this point? Because all the answers are conveniently the same!

Welcome to my game, Maze Mayhem! This game is jam-packed with 50 levels full of variety. From puzzle solving, to dodging enemies, to avoiding spikes, to dancing around fire, to enemies dancing around you, and plenty of mazes to navigate. Trust and believe me when I say that you are sure to find something new around every level. And with levels being about a few minutes long to finish (assuming everything goes fine), it’s an easy game to play for a few minutes. . .Or maybe even a few hours, who knows.

Scarlet Republics

Scarlet Republics

Scarlet Republics is what would happen if Fire Emblem had a love-child with Divinity and a Joe Abercrombie book. It’s a turn-based tactical RPG set in a fantasy world inspired by the Italian Renaissance and Leonardo da Vinci’s imagination

The game is set in the vibrant and treacherous City-states of Corsano, a fantasy world inspired by the Italian renaissance and Leonardo Da Vinci’s imagination. The game tells a mature fantasy story of vengeance and conquest, with plenty of choice, consequence and wit.

KEY FEATURES

  • Turn-Based Tactics - In Scarlet Republics you guide a squad of mercenaries in turn-based combat. The game features 7 unique classes divided over 20 playable characters. It is up to you to pick and mold your squad to suit your playstyle and strategies.

  • Get Creative with Squad-Building - We have built the RPG system to match customization with organic, pseudo-random growths with a focus on squad building and gut-wrenching choices for how to grow your characters. Experimenting with different builds and synergies is a key aspect of creating your perfect mercenary company.

  • Choice and Consequence - How you progress depends entirely upon your decisions. Large parts of the game, including entire battle-maps and quests, are choice specific and it is impossible to see it all in one playthrough.

  • A Living, Breathing World - Inspired by the Mediterranean, the Renaissance and the vineyards and olive groves of Italy and Greece, Corsano is a land of vibrant colors, heady spices, merchant lords, pirates, politics, intrigue and, of course, war.

  • Da Vinci and Tango - The game’s art style is inspired by renaissance art and the sketches of the master Leonardo Da Vinci. The soundtrack mixes classical fantasy with inspirations from tango and flamenco for a dramatic sunset vibe.

Cubicity: Slide puzzle

Cubicity: Slide puzzle

when it first came out, cubicity: slide puzzle was full of mobile shenanigans, but based on feedback the developers quickly ‘de-mobilized’ it during launch week. it needed a few more patches to fix smaller issues and add some quality of life stuff like volume sliders, windowed mode, unlimited undo, etc., but now it’s one of my favorite wall-to-wall sliding puzzlers.

Update: 28.11.2019

The Good: All issues that I had found has already been fixed, hoping not to find some more problems in the future updates.

The Not So Good: The Dev/s seems to be in hiatus – still waiting for the “coming soon” additional levels: Laser Land.

FrankenStorm TD: Prologue

FrankenStorm TD: Prologue

A solid tower defense, reminiscent of the Warcraft III tower defenses it was inspired by. Its strength is in its simplicity. A lot of tower defense games try to go wide, giving players many options of towers while restricting their ability to influence placement and mob flow. This game does the opposite by restricting you to one tower type. It lowers your immediate ability to change your damage types/styles, but allows for larges mazes and clever placement.

As you continue playing, you can collect power-ups that will allow you to shape your game-play even more. The towers are all still the same tower, but you can add attack speed, damage, give the ability to stun, or insta-kill low-health enemies, etc. to them. Every power-up comes with a penalty, that makes the strategy involved more complex, modifying all of your enemy’s abilities at the same time as it modifies all your towers.

I have to think the devs like Path of Exile because the way you “gear up” has so much in common. Everything you find has an upside and a downside. There are uniques that are build enabling, but total garbage if you don’t build for them. There is a specific range for the rolls that a unique can get. There is stuff that has great synergy together (For example, if you stack the increased chance that the enemy procs some special ability, then there is no big downside to grabbing more of that. But the downside that you are completely prevented from getting even 2% of something like enemy dodge chance because 2% dodge X 200% increased chance chance equals insta-death. They also both have the concept of “increased” and “more”. (i.e. you can get 5% increased damage or 5 more damage.) They also both have tooltips that show your basic damage oputput without revealing any useful information without you doing math. (i.e the tooltip will show your crit chance and it will show your percentage increase that random events proc. But it will not show your ACTUAL crit chance after it has been modified by your chance chance.)
