Mitoza
There is no reason for me to not recommend this game. None. Zero. Whatsoever. There’s no glitches. It runs fine. It’s got a very short run time but it’s free. It’s got meme references of various varieties and the game play is easy. It’s not even trying to be pretentious “art”. This is a clickable puzzle game much like those old Newground games where if we clicked around enough, we might get a jump scare or a cute surprise. This game provides us with neither but you do get a checklist of outcomes.

A toy as the dev calls it. It has weird and interesting animations. You start with a seed and you choose to pot it or feed it to a bird, the choices continue until you reach an end and repeat. The game lasts around 20-40mins with a mere 35mb to install. I managed to achieve majority of the animations through trial and error and the final with a guide.
The good point of the game is when you have already saw an animation you can skip it by clicking on it and when you find all the animations there nothing much else to see/do anymore. Fun time waster. Its worth being free.

Emily is Away
SPOILERS
If you’re expecting more than one ending, this isn’t the game for you.
To be honest, I wish we had a more complex review system, like stars or something. Although my experience was negative, I don’t completely dislike it.
The biggest upside for me was seeing how people’s status pages change over time, as their lives go on.
What frustrated me is that, in the end, your choices don’t matter. And it’s not just that you don’t get to be with Emily. For instance, you have the possibility of making her date Travis instead of Brad. When I entered this ‘route’ I thought something would change, but it turns out that even though Brad and Travis have different stories, they are exactly the same. The dialogues about them don’t change, except for the name.

I want to preface by saying I really enjoyed the game interface, graphics and sound effects. They were quite nostalgic. However, having to press keys to type the sentences became a hassle after the first playthrough.
My sole reason for not recommending this game is Emily, or rather the dead end that Emily consistently pushes you into. In the beginning she is probably a good representation of a moody, angsty teen that we all once were on MSN with deep lyrics in our messages. Ultimately though, it doesn’t matter whether you’re indifferent or a supportive friend - she will claim to have once had feelings for you but not any longer. If you hook up then she accuses you of ‘planning’ it and says she was ‘vulnerable’. Please forgive me for trying to plan a nice weekend for you to help you get over your break up! As for the vulernable comment, I don’t get the feeling that the protagnoist (i.e. the player) did anything bad (e.g. purposely plied Emily with alochol or pressured her to get physical). Therefore, despite saying she might fancy you, she decides after hooking up that it’s your fault you hooked up and she doesn’t really like you after all. If you don’t hook up with her, she says she wishes you made a move because she did like you, but doesn’t now. Throughout the game, Emily seems to make everything someone else’s fault and I really disliked her after the first playthrough, but came to hate her after the second and third. Honestly, I wouldn’t have continued talking to her after the first year.

Interactive Horror Stories
Story-wise, it’s pretty decent. The game offers a variety of stories to read, and I am a fan of CYOAs. For the horror genre, it does an okay job. However, there are a couple issues I have with the game, keeping it from being a great game. There needs to be some serious proof-reading in all the stories. They are littered with mistakes. Then the lack of sound is odd, really odd. There are some random sound effects in the game that feels more jarring than fitting (just because it’s silent for the majority of the game). Why the dev chose not to add any boggles my mind.

Stories had quite interesting themes, I really enjoyed reading through all of the endings. They were a bit predictable since I watched too many horror movies but nonetheless I would reccomend it for any horror story lovers! It’s also free so why not give it a try If you are into the genre? I was also glad the experience mostly consisted of just text over an image (except the oujia board story) because It would be a lot more scary If It had jumpscares in the form of popping images according to the way the story had progressed. But It’s safe to say there’s none of that! The text alone is enough to creep anyone out especially If you are reading it at midnight like me haha

Diary: Missed Messages
|
Day 1 - 1/22/2020
|
| I went into this game blind, like I do for many others, but was sort of spoiled in what the consequences of my actions would be with the warning screen.
I played through the first time just reacting to events as they unfolded and got one of the bad endings. On reflection, it made sense, instead of just hanging out with a person that cared about me and remembered my birthday, I went out to meet someone new and as a result, missed the opportunity to see the warning signs that there was something wrong.

This game teaches that only a single moment of conversation could have either good or bad consequences in saving someone’s life, the friend you really care about so yeah wherever we go, in every corner of the world, we’d befriend with 1 or 2 people, the friends we’d blindly make a bond or connection without even realizing and we’d eventually start loving them so if they’d lose us or die, we’d get a very bad feeling of sorrow so we should always ask them personally if they’re fine and what’s going on in their internal lives like if they’re happy, satisfied with their lives or not because somehow if we could help them, we might end up saving someone’s life and that’s what good people really do. 3

MONITOR: The Game
EDIT: I have made a 100% guide for both the main game and the ALIX DLC (link can be found in main guide) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1142352125 Now the review.
Amazing game with a great story, It kinda feels like an Escape the Room type game with all of the secrets in the room that aren’t apparent at all. The game has 10 endings 1 of those is the “best” ending, needing to find all the secrets and uncover the deeper story. Overall the vibe from the amazing music and the story make this a great game 10/10. EDIT: ALIX DLC Review; An amazing development in the story, great soundtrack and great writing to set tone of the add-on. More hands on choices with this one, and interesting dialogue Other DLC’s are readable and give more insight to the story as well as what happens after ALIX’s Best ending as well; worth a read if you enjoy the Game and DLC as much as i did

TBH, even for being free, this.. isn’t great. The game’s hideous despite being in the unreal engine and making your graphics card run hot. Plot is. Strange? Voice work is the best part, but the game really could use some way to speed things along, and even the day select doesn’t make things less tedious. for some endings? I just. Let the game run while I read a book. Because I had nothing else to do after having listened to most of the convos already.
The Alix DLC is slightly more interesting than the game itself, but it’s also incredibly hideous. + Alix’s voice is grating even if Nathan’s voice is nice. If I’d recommend playing any of it, I’d recommend playing that? but. Yeah, skip this unless you just want free achievements, and play Unheard instead. Unheard has fast forward, pause, and rewind. + Unheard is just more interesting, AND far prettier.

Left on Read
Left on Read is a simple and interactive indie game that for those who have played ‘Emily is Away’, will feel as if they’re experiencing déjà vu in some parts. However, with this game, you’ll feel more fulfilled with the ending (if you know, you know).
A great way to kill an hour; you can’t go wrong with this one.
I wish you good luck and patience if you’re looking to complete realistic mode because surprise surprise, it’s realistic.

reminded me of the time when i was talking to this special someone and how things were going, with all its complexity. the game is definitely worth giving it a try. and, if you are looking for a sign to text the person that’s on your mind, just do it. life is too short to worry about whether you will be left on read or not.

Elisa: The Innkeeper - Prequel
Briefly: A free comedy/romance visual novel where your decisions have a refreshingly profound effect on the consequences.
Elisa: The Innkeeper - Prequel is meant as a teaser (or a demo) for the upcoming full visual novel, which was succesfully kickstarted in mid-July ‘16.
Introducing the crew
The premise is a bit silly: It’s a medieval setting based in Florence. Elisa is the innkeeper who (seemingly) inadvertently makes almost every guy who visits fall in love with them. Yet she is not the protagonist.

Another candidate for the “Mixed Review” category, but ultimately, I’m going to have to down-vote this game.
Elisa: The Innkeeper - Prequel is a visual novel focused on Italian culture. The story is essentially focused on a love triangle between a pompous prince who feels the world owes him, a merchant who believes money can fix every problem, and a manipulative innkeeper known as Elisa (who toys with the Merchant, the Prince, and even the sexist Knight who’s obviously been hurt in his past that leads to his sexist behavior). To be perfectly honest, I don’t like any of the characters and the story comes off as a cliche.

Frick Frack
My play through with 3 endings (1 good 2 bad)
Review
Game definitely carries on the spirit of left on read I’m pretty sure some achievements don’t work especially the frack for a 1,000 feet which was to be expected since secure the bag in left on read still doesn’t seem to have been achieved after 60 pages of people devotedly trying to crack it. The story is a good environmental friendly one and it plays pretty well, I liked the different endings even though one of them had absolutely no dialogue the “destroy the earth” ending since I didn’t get an achievement for it that’s what I’ll call it. Definitely fun play I will warn you though the creator does like to waste your time and make you feel the pain i.e. realism mode in left on read and your character walking for miles the farther you get in the game for the good ending to get to your dig site with no speed up atm so heads up on that.
– Real player with 2.7 hrs in game
mixed feelings about this.
The non-skippable part where you walk long distances for to dig for oil is boring but it shows you the damage you have done.
The moles are quite nice to follow you while you destroy their homes and killing rats is nice too.
But the part where you dig for oil is difficult and the instructions are not really clear. It doesnt tell the players that they can dig whatever they can until they have left 2 bars on the time so that they can go to the surface and wait for the oil to appear and make money from that instead

Introvert: A Teenager Simulator
I’m gonna say this now: The game IS fun. It IS entertaining. I’m giving it a negative review though because it fails to deliver on everything it was trying to do. The voice acting wasn’t good, but it was honest. The game is simple and made well enough. The problem is though, it doesn’t discuss gun violence, suicide, or bullying. It mentions shooting up the school, and sticks a dead body in your living room, which is never explained. The game gives you an illusion of choice, making you think you can get different outcomes. It doesn’t matter what you do, the ending is always the same.

A character orders this for a pizza, I’ll just quote it straight from the game:
“Can I have a pizza with Greek cheese, smoked salmon, black caviar, red onions, tomato sauce, spicy mayo, chili flakes, and banana slices, garlic, kebab pieces, tuna, sausage and scrambled eggs and make it extra toasted”
This game is as bad as that pizza: all the wrong toppings and burned.

If you don’t understand what’s wrong with that pizza order, this might actually be a good game for you.

Mythic Ocean: Prologue
Beautiful! I’d been looking for a nice game to swim about in and chill with fish and other sea life. This game is that and you get to pick out the next God. Sort of. As you interact with the Gods you can encourage them, sometimes unintentionally! So a lot like other games of this type you may end up with an unintended winner in your first play through. It reminds me heavily of Subnautica in parts and overall I’m truly impressed. There is clearly a lot of love and passion in the project.

Really well done but short game. The presentation is absolutely fantastic – graphics, sounds, UI, everything is perfect. You will instantly want to explore every nook and cranny, and will be rewarded for it.
As for the story, there isn’t much of it in this prologue, but what is there is really put well together. The (small) world is populated with colorful characters, each of them different in their own way. The dialog is short, to the point, and captivating. Easily pulls you into the intriguing plot.
