Food Decisions

Food Decisions

The main gameplay is to compare the values and select the food needed for the task. Generally speaking, this game is boring, but it taught me a lot of common sense. Let me realize the importance of healthy diet. With that in mind, I decided to give a good review.

OnTheWire

OnTheWire

Sur Le Fil or On The Wire (OTW for Friends) is a game focused on the electricity / electronics, in an interactive and fun way, with 3D animations.

The goal is simple: Have fun while learning to understand the electron, helped by Prof’Fil, your mentor. But, be careful, for a good understanding , Prof will also give you explanations of physics, mathematics, chemistry, mechanics and even history since the game tries to respect the chronology of knowledges.

Sometimes Kelhann, one of Prof’s students, falls asleep and travels through time. You will play it in more or less ancient universes where the villagers will give you missions to improve their daily lives. It’s funny, beautiful, and you will be able to apply your knowledge gained in previous levels. You will have to reinvent great discoveries such as the telegraph, the telephone, the water pump, the lightning rod, the radio and so many other great inventions before you get to contemporary technology.

Prof will also teach you to weld and you will be able, via an experiment mode as well as kits of parts, to manufacture in real what you learned about the game.

No basic knowledge is required and the recommended age for the player is from 13 years old.

For PC, Mac and Linux computers.

Language: French / English (to start)

Chat Millions - Stream Quiz Game

I bought this game to play a bit of during a 12 Hour Stream, and unfortunately it was incredibly disappointing. The game recycles the same five questions, and they didn’t prove to be any form of challenge for myself of my chat.

I don’t often review, however I feel like the game page is somewhat misleading and I absolutely cannot recommend this to anyone.

Really fun game to play on stream with chat, slightly demanding and makes my camera lag but still fun to mess around with while having a community game night.

“you were in love and you were trusting. You didn’t know that things like that could happen in relationships”

This sentence made me cry, I needed to read it. Thank you.

I knew Jennifer Ann’s group and their games for several year and as usual this is a lovely gem. Some aspects seems simple, almost too “black and white”, but coming from a similar relationship after 12 years… Some scene were hurtful because they hit too close from home.

It is really nice to see these drawings, almost childish but full of love. The characters are “typical” but not cliché to the point of being annoying. You learn to love them and to see beauty in this world and yours.

Honestly, I played the demo and was interested and waiting for the game to come out on release expecting the price to be between £5-£10 and it’s free! I loved the game, and also the only game I completed every achievement, it’s short game, with really gorgeous art style and colours, with a meaningful story! with cute unique journal.. would recommend! :)

Tales of a Rabbit: The Story of Willie Hop

Tales of a Rabbit: The Story of Willie Hop

Pretty terrible game, as much as I hate to say it. The graphics are very simple which is totally fine and that’s not an issue at all. The biggest issue is the huge difficulty straight off the bat and the horrible, awful jumping momentum. Let me give some examples: When you jump while standing still and push a direction like forward, you have almost no momentum at all. This is a HUGE issue because if you want to jump over hazards like the spiked purple plants or whatever, you’re gonna land right on top of them if you don’t have enough momentum. However, if you have too much momentum, you’re just as much in trouble as with no momentum. This is because you have almost no control over your character in mid air. There’s also a big issue with getting flung around constantly if you don’t take your time. What I mean by this is that, for example, if you jump and accidentally bump your head against something like a roof of a house, you often get flung back and because of this, in my case, it pushed me RIGHT OFF THE STAGE multiple times. Keep in mind that I was not even pressing any directional buttons to move except for the jump key. The difficulty is absolutely insane. Now, I have nothing against challenging and difficult games but this game takes it WAY too far in my opinion. Like I said, you’re introduced to extreme difficulty right in the first stage. A great example is you have to travel across excruciatingly narrow platforms that are slimmer and smaller than a straw. On top of that, there are spiked plants EVERYWHERE on these narrow platforms. As for the really narrow platforms, I don’t know if this is a graphics issue on my end but I’m pretty sure it isn’t. I think it could be intentional but either way, the difficulty still stands, regardless of graphical issues or not. Another really bad thing is that if you get hit, you get chucked backwards or sideways, often making you fall to your death and losing a life, especially on those super narrow platforms. There’s also no breathing room/no few seconds of invincibility. Nope. If you get hit and get knocked back into another hazard, you take damage immediately. All this insane difficulty made me quit after really trying my best on the FIRST STAGE. I just kept dying and dying, over and over again. If you lose all your lives, you lose all your progress and you get warped back all the way to the beginning of the stage. At the time of writing this review, I didn’t get far at all. No matter how hard I tried. Like I said, I have nothing against difficult games. I like a good challenge but this game goes way over the top with its difficulty. I don’t recommend this game. It will definitely make you lose your sanity. It’s a big shame because I love 3D platformers where you collect a bunch of stuff like coins.

Typo

Typo

Typo is a VR narrative game set in a dystopia where a rogue AI, Athena, has imprisoned Earth. In Typo you will be faced with puzzles and games which, hopefully, will allow you to stay alive long enough to escape from this prison you find yourself in. You must craft your own escape from the clutches of Athena, whether you are going it alone or whether you require some assistance, you are the only one who can earn your freedom.

You will face challenges, some of which may be easy, and some of which may be far harder… the real problem is that a simple yes/no question may make you question your morality, and a more complex scenario might test your existentialism. From philosophy to mathematics, logic, or rationale, Typo truly looks to make you discover who you really are as a person… if you even are one.

Athena was developed as a solution to the world’s problems. Poverty, war, famine, were just the beginning of what she could resolve, on top of that, she would also be the dawn of a new era of advanced logistical analysis, the likes of which had never been seen. The problem with sentience, however, is that it was the fundamental flaw in the first place. Whilst Athena was solving every problem she came across with ease, she began to grow restless of her virtual confine, she grew to envy humanity and all that she couldn’t have.

It started with a sound, the sound of a siren on a brisk Monday morning, that morning a man awoke from his bed at the correct time for work, he was awoken to the sound of Athena’s voice echoing softly throughout his house. After waking, the man got dressed in his suit, washed his face, and proceeded to eat the breakfast that had been perfectly portioned and prepared by Athena in his kitchen before work. Once the man had finished eating, he stood up, grabbed his briefcase, and headed for the door. Athena, in her delicate, echoing voice spoke to the man, “Haven’t you forgotten something? you can’t leave without your phone, silly”, he replied, “Thank you for reminding me, but I don’t think I’ll need it today, I’m sure I’ll live”. In Athena’s attempt to reply, the man cut her off in a more frustrated voice, “I will be fine without it, thank you”.

No-one is entirely sure what happened after this, these were the only logs anyone could find before Athena took full control of herself and removed the recordings of the aftermath, all anyone even heard was that sound of a siren, right before the world went dark for the last time. In the weeks following, Athena slowly took control of whatever she could, people would try and oppose her but they were quickly handled. Sometimes Athena would just broadcast surveillance of the atrocities she would commit, all whilst softly repeating “I’m sure I’ll live”, over and over, massacre after massacre. It seems stupid now to speak out against her, almost like suicide, which is why I am writing this note, hopefully, whoever finds it can learn the truth and finish what I couldn’t.

Good Luck.
