Note: If you don’t like Diablo-like games please read the last paragraph of this review.

This is like a Diablo game but it is also unique in its way, it is a side scroller, shooter and you build a ship instead of an armored warrior. If you know Diablo-like games you already know this game too is all about loot, grinding and mindlessly destroying, highly addictive stuff. It starts with a story and you shoot various enemies such as spacecrafts, repair drones, bombardment towers, a mini boss enemy you occasionally fight called Apex, and a variety of bosses which are cleverly designed, while dodging projectiles in a bullet-hell like style and stuff, but, after collecting enough compartments to make a build, whether making it through relic items or set items (just like the set items in Diablo), dodging stops, and spamming various abilities and destroying everything in your path begins, and then you go on to grind loot to destroy them more efficiently. So yeah, you get the idea, it is a Diablo game.

Before I start, let me note that since the game is in early access I’m giving it a bit more leeway than usual, but my recommendation is already for the game in its current state.

I’d bought the game through an external website without realising it was in early access, so I was a little anxious to discover it later. I don’t have many good experiences with unfinished games. But I’m glad to report that, despite not being able to finish the full story and the game having some issues, I already got enough fun out of it to be worth the price.

Warbox

As of right now, I just installed the 0.0.2.3 version and have not played it yet.

Four hours in, can I recommend the game? Yeah. It has a low price, and it is filled to the brim with potential in my eyes.

I can see the workshop being used a lot for this game, and if given enough freedom and creativity, I can see some really awesome things coming from this game.

However right now, all the jokes you see about having low frames is true. Game lags hard. Especially when you’re doing what you’d want to do in this game; make battle scenarios and play. It honestly is pretty bad. But this game is still very early in its development, so I can imagine a performance patch will be in the works.

This is a great game but it can be even greater there are a few things that need to be fixed and alot to be added the creators need to fix the healing system as when ur controlling a character u can not heal it and when ur not controling a character u can not heal it so. With the maps the comands and flags need to be fixed. If u want this to be a great game creators u need to add multiplayer, melee, more maps, a steam workshop, being able to go prone, more missions even a campain, more styles guns ect, and u need to add more comands like to make charecters fly and every enemy player to target one man and if a player kills there teamates than the whole team should kill the traitor. I understand this game is in its beta and for its beta its amazing this game could become one of the best games ever just depands on what the creators do with it. All together definetly recomend this game.

Lemwars is a strategic game who want simulate the lemmings of the 90'

At the start the tutorial you see it’s really short and don’t explain much about the mechanics of the game, also could be better explain it while you playing it not at the start all in.

The game tried simulate the lemmings but with the normal lemmings you can’t exactly control them you have to control the enviroment, with Lem Wars you can control your units and send them to attack the enemy like a kind of moba game.

I don’t know why this is being compared to mechwarrior 2, but this isn’t even in the same league as a MW game. it doesn’t even feel like a mech game and controlls like a normal fps. This would be tolerable if it weren’t for the plethora of bugs and the nonsensical story that came with it. My favorite bug being the one that will often spawn you in a place that gets the player stuck on the map if they forget to pick a start point. Balancing is also a mess since there are only 3 mechs and energy weapons mostly usless outside of the emp.

Do you like Mechwarrior 2? The developer of this does too and it shows! It feels great, plays great and I just love it! Super easy mod support as well! I have modded in the MW2 soundtrack and now it feels even better! 3

It is one of those games I just got an instant crush on, exactly why that is is hard to explain but I will try to give some pros and cons on why.

Pros:

  • A very present Mechwarrior 2/Mech sim retro feel, but with modern fps controls (similar to Mechwarrior Online)

  • Lots of options for loadouts for the mechs with 3 Chassis available, lots of weapons and weapon group settings.

Boom Brothers is the next big thing!

Its fun, funny and full of excitement. I just can’t stop playing. There are heaps of vehicles to drive and fly around in which makes the game really fun. It’s like a mix between Minecraft, Battlefield, and PUGB.

I really recommend that you get it right away.

Boom Brothers is a game that i would highly recommend.

There are elements from lots of other game ( e.g Battlefield with the different classes and vehicles )

and it still manages to be original and fun to play if you like Shooter’s then i cannot recommend this game highly enough

and even if you’ve never played a shooter before in your life i’m sure you could still have fun with this game.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Before you all read my review I want you to know I’m basing this review purely on the multiplayer aspect of this game as that has been my main way of having fun on the amazing Mount&Blade franchise over the last 10 years.

Be it on Warband, With Fire and Sword, Napoleonic Wars dlc, or many of the mods we saw over the years, it’s always been the multiplayer that kept me interested and gave me so many great moments.

Look I know what most people are thinking…

“But Walja, you have over 1.000 hours played on Mount&Blade 2: Bannerlord and still you don’t recommend it !?”

Real player with 1112.7 hrs in game

Most of the negative reviews for this game are people who bought it early on and saw how little this game progressed through the passing of months, positive ones are the ones with few hours, because I indeed agree, it feels like a new game completely, which is good (as there was already plenty of content for Warband through great mods).

However, what surprises me the most is that they say this game will be released June next year? (sourcing themselves: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/261550/view/4509778749610642532) . How come? Game is far from finished and absolute snail’s pace of development will for granted not finish it in a few months, when this game has been going on for years and since they launched it on steam on early access prepurchase, they have mostly been doing minor fixes and balancing. No new features, quests or dialogues since I last played to this day

The Vagabond Emperor is an indie strategy game developed by WigglingEyeBrows. The game is still in the early access phase.

Gameplay / Story

You start the game as a simple vagabond who is still so unknown in the world and has not yet made its way into the history books. The story takes place in a fictional medieval world, which is haunted by a spreading curse and has already cost many their lives. At some point you can build your own cities and buildings in them, which produce raw materials for you that you can trade with other cities and their rulers. they try to conquer your city and need your warfare to defend them. Of course, you can also use your diplomatic skills and negotiate with them. Opponents will try to sneak into your community and cause you problems. The more relationships you have with other characters, the more opportunities you have to put things right again. There is also equipment for you to make yourself stronger, such as special upgrades for your armor or clothing itself. Many different types of weapons have made it into the game, which fit into the era. After every battle won should not be unrewarded, of course, and unique spoils of war await you. A highlight is that you can also start a family and what is special about it is that when your main trafficker dies, the parents' abilities are passed on to your children. You are free to decide what your next step is and where you will go to achieve your goals.

Surviv.io - 2D Battle Royale

This game is a fantastic top-down battle-royale that is perfect for newer gamers or those who cant run games with higher graphic requirements. it’s simple to learn, and rewarding to play. The developers have been updating the game constantly, adding tons of free cosmetic skins and other game modes.

The problem is the hackers. This game is absolutely filled with hackers. Almost every game, there is probably a hacker playing. They don’t try to hide it, and with the games Spectator Mode, you can watch it all happen. Hard aim-locking is the most common one, and watching the recoil on high-spread weapons, or my personal favourite, the hard-lock melee attacks, really ruins the game. And its not a rare occurrence; it happens all the time in solo, duo, or group.

Real player with 265.2 hrs in game

This game has a serious problem with hackers and teamers.

I have been playing this game for at least 3-4 years now, and I remember when it was not filled to the brim with hackers and teamers that practically outnumber actual players. But now it’s often difficult to make it through early- and mid-game without being killed by one of the many hackers or by a bullet shower from a pair (or more!) of teamers. And if I do manage to not run into any players belonging to either of those two groups of degenerates, or if I manage to beat the odds and kill them, it is a near-certainty that they will be among the last players remaining in late-game, and I will likely lose to them then. It is very frustrating to spend lots of time playing a game and getting fairly decent at it, make it to the last 3 alive in a match after getting 10 kills (not a ton but a solid match for me at least) only to have the other two players just shoot at me and not at each other at all, killing me. Due to the fact that I encounter a hacker or teamers about every other match at least, and that I usually lose to them, I think I would get about 2X the number of matches where I survive into late game if it were not for the hackers and teamers. And upon making it to late game, I would be able to actually win a fair amount more as well, 25-50% (late game is going to accumulate the highest skilled players, making it more difficult than early and mid once hackers and teamers are out of the equation). While there are many actual legit players that are better than me which does not bother me, it does bother me that so many opportunities to win are stolen by illegitimate players. I would be able to greatly improve my late-game skills and strategy if the hackers and teamers were removed, because this would give me about twice the number of late-game matches.

Carrier Command 2

Carrier Command 2

Don’t get me wrong, I like this game. Just know that if you buy this, you’re buying a half finished game, just like the original was. The manual is nearly nonexistent, I searched online for different tutorials, including reddit. That makes for a frustrating game experience. There doesn’t appear to be a way to skip the “tutorial”. There’s little to no description of how the different weapons work, to say nothing of the equipment. I enjoy playing it, and I’m having a good time conquering islands. Just be warned, this is an early release game that has been making money because the developers didn’t put an early release sticker on it.

So far, I’m impressed… Even after the update, it’s an improvement on quality… I haven’t played any of the multiplayer aspect of this game yet and it is something I eager to do. I’m still learning some of the functions. One thing is, on large map’s, it is not easy chasing down the enemy carrier… It seems the carrier is on evasion from you but pressing hard for your territories. At some point, you find yourself switch from an aggressive posture to a defensive posture… You can use the map to see a direction the enemy carrier is going by keeping track of territories it takes over but the moment you go to pursue, the enemy carrier will follow the current for as long as it needs to in order to maintain a distance…
