EvolveLabOnline

Evolve Lab is an online multiplayer game in which you try to descend as deep as possible into the depths of an unknown planet.

In each stage you will fight against creatures that were created by other players and if you win you can improve the programming of your creature until you are the first player to reach a new record depth!

Whenever a creature loses, the creature stays at the current depth and becomes an opponent for the next players.

So over time the waters of this planet will be filled with all kinds of different creatures and it will get harder and harder to be the first player to reach a new depth.

THE BASICS OF THE GAME

Bassline Sinker is a Shooter / Bullet Hell game that responds to your choice of music. You’re a Stingray (I believe) and you do battle with various under sea creatures out to do you harm. It’s a rhythm game, but you need not worry if you’re not good at them. Choose the right music track, weapons and armor and that’s it. If you’re good at and enjoy good shooters, you’ll have no problem with the play mechanics of this game.

Solid game!

I’ve seen a review that called this a childrens' game. To that, I say “so what?”

This game has enjoyable elements regardless of being an adult, adolescent or child.

This is going to be somewhat of a comprehensive review so bear with me-

Soundtrack:

Great! I think that it very much fits the style of the game.

Interface:

Fantastic. A little goes a long way. All of the options are easily accessible and easy to change- unlike other indie games like phasmophobia, which I also love. Personally, I just like that ability to access the menu whenever needed.

Queen of Seas

Queen of Seas

I like this game. The pixelart and the premise of the game is well done. The story is neat in itself. The gameplay is simplistic but rewarding. You can feel your own evolution in this underwater adventure.

The controls are simple. Move left and right with arrows, Spacebar is to jump and down on the arrow key is a ducking motion. Avoid sharks that spawn from the right side of the screen and jellyfish that spawn underneath you. Move about 2000 clicks and find you a topless mermaid (Don’t even, low pixels and artstyle, nothing “graphic”). Give it a flower and farm coins for levels.

A fun arcade platformer for a couple of hours in which we play as the son of a fisherman in order to get to the Queen of the Seas - Yemanjá.

We will begin to overcome obstacles immediately under water, in a diver’s suit. The path is always one (to the right) and the distance to the cherished goal is also (2000 meters). The meters are “counted” right on the screen, which is very convenient, you can always see how much remains to go. Only a few types of enemies will interfere with the journey: sharks and jellyfish.

Full disclosure - I was involved in early testing for this game. I can tell you the lead developer is really respoinsive and a joy to work with. That’s the reason this game keeps getting better, and is well worth the $$. Aside from that, this is an honest review for a really fun, must-have in my opinion, VR game that’s for everyone. I love dragons myself, like just about everyone that’s faithfully watched Game of Thrones, or any other similar story, the dragons are the best part. I had been looking for a dragon-riding game and this is one of the best.

GUN AND BUCKLER

GUN AND BUCKLER

Shoot and deflect bullets as a frog equipped with a gun, a buckler and a sticky tongue.

GUN & BUCKLER is a lucrative blood-sport set some time in the future – a branch growing off the long tradition of frog breeding, introducing a new generation of frogs that understand how to use weapons.

The game puts you into the action of being pitted against your genetic peers and their freaky deviations, at the amusement of national TV, at the profit of the breeders and at the detriment of countless clones of frogs and toads.

Your job is to make sure you never get hit by a bullet. Don’t get hit. You will die, don’t do it.

Gameplay features:

  • Aim 360 degrees around you

  • Switch between blocking and shooting

  • Crouch first to jump high like a frog

  • Walljumps, climbing and sliding off walls

  • Fast swimming

  • Grab items, other frogs and steal their items using your TONGUE. You can dual wield.

Gaia

Gaia

STORY.

Amanda is your main character. She’s a tough explorer, a treasure hunter. There is character customization, so you can design something normal or crazy looking !

AI.

The Artificial Intelligence of the animals in Gaia is very advanced. They react to each other, some will attack everything, some are more cagey. If you play your cards right, you can let predators fight it out and collect the loot later!

OPTIONS.

There are three separate “Storytellers” that create a very different game experience. Then there are the traditional difficulty options, resource and predator levels. You can dial in a very easy, exploration-type game, or make it super-hard in Ironman Mode.

Please note: Several of the negative reviewers seem to have missed the clearly labeled and easily accessible options menu. The developer, Radu Saghin, is very quick to respond, and has already fixed several of the issues people had in less than a day after the complaint was made.

This game is clearly Early Access, and if you don’t know what all that entails then this game is not for you. (Another point that some seem to have missed)

My first play through: I set everything to what I assumed would be the easiest possible setting because the reviews terrified me. I was surprised at how slowly the meters dropped. I actually had to get a snack and a drink in real life more often than the character, Amanda, needed it. Luckily that play-through was cut short by a bad trade deal and my base was destroyed by an orbital strike.

Girl Amazon Survival

Girl Amazon Survival

Girl Amazon Survival has had an extremely murky start. As many may already know, Kobra Studios is really just a Russian Indie Dev who originally tried to port a mobile game of his called ‘Island Light’ onto Steam. His attempt to do so, was extremely criticised by Jim Sterling. Instead of listening to Jim Sterling’s critiques and taking on board what was applicable for himself, instead the developer played the dirty trick of trying to copyright strike such a video. In fact, the sensitive developer then continued to try and supress ALL negative feedback, deleting and monitoring all comments in the steam forum and striking ALL video’s of YouTubers whom voiced anything negative about his products.

Wow where to start with this one? Maybe the awful graphics, or maybe the even worse animations? The poor sounds or the cumbersome controls. I know - the awful combat against a constant sea of constantly respawning and ugly undead. Seeing as combat is at the heart of this ‘game’ you would think the devs would have refined it to at least be half decent? Well no, they didn’t. Oh and the zombies don’t make any noise until they are attacking you so prepare to be half dead before you even know your in danger.
