Ascendants Rising

Ascendants Rising

the game is still at its early stage, the tutorial is very simple, at the beginning you have to press “V” to continue with the tutorial, after defeating the final boss, you will go into the hub were you can team up with your friends, at the moment it does not have a LFG system, according to the dev on discord they say it is going to be added in the future, so if you want to play you have to find friends on their discord and add them on steam, invite them through steam and then you can play. The game is good looking, we have to keep in mind this is an alpha and that new content and fixes will be delivered. At the moment this is not a single player game, you have to either go to the game discord and find people there or your group of friends has to buy the game as well.

I love the PvE aspect of the game in the Coliseum. It is also very challenging cause the bosses are really hard to beat!

Currently there are some bugs and some of the servers are not running well. But these are trivial and I believe that the devs can easily fix them in the coming days or maybe weeks at max.

Should you try the game? For sure! See you at the Coliseum!

MapleStory

I have played this game back in 2006 and I had a blast, everything was new to me, the settings, the people running around and killing snails on maple island then slimes and mushrooms in henesys hunting ground. Took many years of breaks in between, back and forth, but when they revamped the game and released big bang is when they started to lose the vast majority of players (slowly).

I know that change is needed for games to progress, but so many changes killed the game.

Pros:

  • if you’re a fan of mario style games or platformers and like to see big numbers when you hit monster, then try out this game

I have around 400 hours on steam but I’ve spent more than 1k hours on the other version. I must say despite the amount of dedication I’ve put into this game, I cannot reccomend it to anyone. The servers are extremely inconsistent, they need maintenance at least every week and no new or interesting content get introduced for many MANY years. Even when they do (5th Job update and lucid), its very underwhelming and sad since I waited 4 years just to receive junk and the frustration of that is what caused me to put an end what was the most time I’ve spent on a game.

Never Return

Never Return

the basis of behind the scene should be explained first.

it’s almost like im playing one of those old school dungeon crawler games but with more possibilities due to the higher possibilities of the unity engine. i’ve been enjoying the game even though it’s early access. something about the early access tag that many people might not understand is that unlike almost all the early access titles that have existed, the devs of this game have NO intention of staying early access forever. the roadmap is on the store page and the team clearly are trying their best to stay on the time frames despite the small size. pulling overnight shifts and extra days to deliver.

Never Return

Never Return is a brand spanking new 3D, action-adventure, dungeon-crawler with Roguelite elements. The Steam store page says it’s a Roguelite experience, but Nah, I would say it’s more of a Roguelite+ experience.

Every time you die, you can revive yourself with in-game soul currency as many times as you want until your pocket runs dry.

## Sector Six

Note: If you don't like Diablo-like games please read the last paragraph of this review.

This is like a Diablo game but it is also unique in its way, it is a side scroller, shooter and you build a ship instead of an armored warrior. If you know Diablo-like games you already know this game too is all about loot, grinding and mindlessly destroying, highly addictive stuff. It starts with a story and you shoot various enemies such as spacecrafts, repair drones, bombardment towers, a mini boss enemy you occasionally fight called Apex, and a variety of bosses which are cleverly designed, while dodging projectiles in a bullet-hell like style and stuff, but, after collecting enough compartments to make a build, whether making it through relic items or set items (just like the set items in Diablo), dodging stops, and spamming various abilities and destroying everything in your path begins, and then you go on to grind loot to destroy them more efficiently. So yeah, you get the idea, it is a Diablo game.

Before I start, let me note that since the game is in early access I'm giving it a bit more leeway than usual, but my recommendation is already for the game in its current state.

I'd bought the game through an external website without realising it was in early access, so I was a little anxious to discover it later. I don't have many good experiences with unfinished games. But I'm glad to report that, despite not being able to finish the full story and the game having some issues, I already got enough fun out of it to be worth the price.

## Ephemeral Tale

Really nice game. Bought it just because of the screenshots showing the different coloured loot but instead I was surprised with good music, good gameplay, and just a really fun game. The biggest surprise was the Dark Souls type leveling and then on top of that there is some Demon's Souls influence with teleporting to different areas and completing them. Or it felt like that at least. Throw in some Borderlands and you have something cool like this. It's a short game but you can do more playthroughs after completing the game to look for secrets you might have missed. Give it a try.

## Pagan: Absent Gods

My hours on the game are only for Steam, my actual hours are somewhere in the hundreds if not close to 1000\. Been playing since the first alpha phase. So let me talk about the game from there. The first 3 points of this review is formatted like “most people say X, but actually Y” so I hope you’ll read it all.

1\. People complain about the WASD. Many of these complaints suggest that there is no use of the mouse. This is heavily misleading. WASD + Mouse allows for directional movement while aiming skills and dodges simultaneously. Adding click to move would mean that directional skills would have to be aimed only with the direction a character is facing, or with WASD, and you wouldn’t want that would you? Embrace the WASD + Mouse Aim! Try something new!

I don't usually write reviews but I think I needed to take time off and post a review for this game. WALL OF TEXT incoming.

Overview

After playing this game for approximately 100hrs I believe that Steam needs to have a policy in place to refund gamers when a Game company does not make good on their promises. This game has glaring issues and bugs and should have NEVER made it out of early access/beta. The fact this game was launched is an insult to gamers who have invested their money on this.

## Rune Knights

What can I say, I love the game, despite it's early access flaws.

It's worth more than the asking price already, so buy it.

A solid solo PVE experience but it really shines in multiplayer.

Combat is smooth, visceral and satisfying, the build options and talent trees are already quite varied and are going to get even more interesting as skills get added and level caps get raised and more points are available to allocate.

The game runs pretty smoothly, even on lower spec machines. (obviously not as pretty but the core gameplay is spot on and it still looks decent)

When I first saw this game, I didn't expect much from it. After reading the good reviews and looking up on Youtube for videos I was surprised to find a very short selection. I decided it wouldn't hurt to give it a try, it's only 10$ anyways. Launching the game, I noticed the character selection being pretty limited to only a few options and assumed the game wasn't going to catch my attention for long, but thankfully when I started playing, I couldn't stop. This game has been such a fun and exciting addition to my time and I loved every hour of it and I cannot wait to see it grow. I can't seem to explain it but there's just something about this game that brings nostalgia and a fresh breath of air to me.
