Chef: A Restaurant Tycoon Game

Chef: A Restaurant Tycoon Game

This game is quite entertaining if your into the idea of managing a restaurant. Keep in mind, when I mention the negatives, that this game is still being worked on and not even at version 1 yet. I find that the game has a bit of charm and every update addresses something that I feel the game is missing. At first the game seems to progress quickly, giving you lots of skill points and new missions rather quickly, this really helps get you into the game, as there are some tedious issues when your just starting out. At first, you’ve got a lot to do before you can open your restaurant and, as mentioned, that can make the start seem a little slow going and dull. Also, the flow of the game might take some getting used to in order to start making a profit, but it shouldn’t take too long to get the hang of it.

No, not yet. I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend until it delivered more on the depth of creating a successful Menu. For me that’s really the attractive and interesting part of playing this game which separates it from any other kind of similar simulator. That turned out to be a much shallower pool than what I had hoped to find in the game as I progressed.

The system in place for the way that you create a menu item I don’t like at all. You essentially have a talent tree system with points you spend on from XP gained during your shift. each tier such as Starter, Main, Dessert, etc has its own branch in the talent tree to spend your points in. to unlock new recipes to customise you spend your points here to unlock templates that you can customise. The game gives you a lose definition of the dish; it must contain X percent of your Protein, it must meet X criteria of fat, this many vegetables, this much seasoning. The problem for me is that kills the concept entirely.

Recipe for Disaster

Recipe for Disaster

The game has been in E.A. for 10 days at the time of writing this review. After completing the campaign, I am sorry to say it’s a thumbs down.

It’s not because of some bugs (like the WASD keys not responding), some weird pathfinding (like your employees using the back door and running all around the building to sweep the front steps) or some data base missmatch (like the patrons who both love pork loin and hate pork loin) but because the core game mechanics are shallow.

In short:

  • The recipe/culinary creation part and the expectation/feedback from patrons is a joke.

I feel like this game is a good precedent of a very shallow Early Access game. I literally played all 5 scenarios and tutorials 3 times including the bonuses. There are many things wrong with the game:

  • Constant UI glitches (like so many)

  • There is only 1 disaster that happens 2-4 times a day (fire)

  • AI is too basic

  • UI/UX overall is terrible (when viewing menu there is always a window that you cannot close on the right hand side and gets in the way of seeing your full menu/prices). Constant spam of messages in game you cannot turn off to0. I don’t want to know if Osama is making bad food every single time.

Food Decisions

Food Decisions

The main gameplay is to compare the values and select the food needed for the task. Generally speaking, this game is boring, but it taught me a lot of common sense. Let me realize the importance of healthy diet. With that in mind, I decided to give a good review.

Bdo is probably one of the best if not the best mmo I have seen and its a one time pay game, no monthly subscription required. There is pay for convenience, however its not required and very much a choice. You don’t have to pay to enjoy the game and since your often getting it for free or only paying 1$ for the game since its constantly on sale. So paying slightly extra for something is not all that big a deal if your used to other mmo.

Financial stuff out of the way I have probably never play a game with a more enjoyable combat system aside from Monster Hunter World. Which you can’t really pvp in. Like any game there is some amount of toxic pvp, but ftm part its not that big an issue. Guilds and parties make the game fun to play with friends or just go adventuring in parties, doing quests/dungeons. Its has world bosses, a rewarding lvl system and you can get burned out if you go too hard trying to progress in the game. I personally switch to life skilling when I want to relax an not put in any effor which allows you to still progress in the game.

Overall rating - [4/10] - The game has massive potential but currently its just not there yet, get it on a free-to-keep special event or on a 5$ sale and sit on the game for a bit.

Pros_

-You can cop it for like 5$ on sales

-6 year old game with better graphics than current year mmo’s

-Best combat system out of any mmo hands down

-Open world with great scenery

-There’s forced PvP (you can flag up and attack anyone above lvl 56 outside of safe zone)

SunnySide

SunnySide

You’ve purchased your first plot of land in an aging post town in the heart of the Japanese countryside. Now, it’s up to you to create a homestead to be proud of. Cultivate the land, nurture your budding crops, and care for your animals. Use technology to keep in touch with new friends, access online shopping, and store your favorite farm fresh recipes.

Spend time getting to know the residents of SunnySide - old and new - all while balancing your newfound farm life. Don’t forget to take pause and enjoy the wonders of the Japanese landscape whilst discovering more about yourself and the world around you.

Modernize your farming experience with new technology that brings the classic, farming sim genre to the 21st century. Build solar panels, electric water pumps, contemporary machines for food production, and continuously upgrade your tech to improve your farming experience.

In SunnySide, we want you to enjoy all aspects of farming, especially in growing your own food. With modern technology, you can worry less about tedious daily tasks and more on living a life of balance.

With a focus on individuality, you will be provided with unique opportunities that allow for creative freedom and self-expression. Your avatar, homestead, and even your in-game cell phone can all be tailored to your preferences and desires. Customize buildings, layouts, decorations, clothing, hair, and more on your journey of self- discovery.

A proper homestead is self-sufficient, and your home in SunnySide is no different. Learn to collect your own water, generate power, grow and craft various food items, and cultivate your land to help support the local economy.

When SunnySide fully releases, you’ll be able to ferment your own soy sauce, slice tofu, grow and grind flour at the local mill, and craft artisan cheeses. The real magic of food, however, is what happens in the kitchen. Take produce a step further by cooking a wide variety of dishes in a kitchen you’ll be able to design and upgrade yourself. Nothing satisfies hunger like a home cooked meal after a long day’s work.

While a quiet life in the countryside is nice, life in SunnySide isn’t perfect. The locals have distinct personalities, stories, and issues which - through your decisions - can be uncovered. SunnySide has spent the last decade on a steady decline, but perhaps you’ll be the one to breathe new life into this desolate town.

Form bonds, join groups, attend events, and maybe even find someone special to share your days with.

Disclaimer: This game does not contain watering cans, shipping containers, incessant gifting, mayonnaise machines, and endless walking.
