Carpathian Night

Carpathian Night

The plague of Dracula’s army continues to spread across the Carpathians, growing stronger with each victim it claims. Those who attempt to resist are met with a fate worse than death. If Dracula is not stopped, he will bring everlasting night to the world.

Only two champions have answered the call to bring divine justice to Dracula and his minions. Abbot Dorin, warrior monk and leader of the Kelemen Church, and Irina Dracul, vampire, pyromancer, and ancestor of Prince Dracula, have joined together to drive back the army of the dead and hunt down the legendary vampire himself. Zombies, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and demonic beings of every kind await all who dare trespass into their master’s domain! Those who survive the horrors of the Borgo Pass will reach the gates of the ancient Castle Dracula, where the real nightmare begins!

Carpathian Night is a tribute to retro horror side-scrollers and the classic monster films that inspired them. Battle your way through legions of iconic monsters, avoid deadly traps, uncover the secret history of your monstrous foes, and face the legendary Lord of the Vampires within his own ancestral home! Answer the call, mighty hunter, and drive the wickedness back from whence it came!

Definitely recommend this game to any new VR people wanting to achieve their fantasies of shooting fire and lighting out of their hands and having a 1v1 sword fight with a knight. The base game has so much content, I truthfully don’t know if I have used or seen every piece of it. i had played 4 levels till now and all levels are pretty amazing with AAA graphics, just try it out.

Everdream Valley

Everdream Valley

Finally holidays! This summer, for the first time ever, you will spend it alone at your grandparent’s farm. Two months without mom and dad. Only you and your dog! Two months during which you have to take care of the grandparent’s farm growing plants and milking animals, well at least some of them.

You will plant, water, gather crops, and fight (sometimes for life) against pests.

You’ll need to clear nettles, build pens, and keep the animals on the farm happy.

You can sell your crops and buy or upgrade equipment with the money you earn.

However, you will not be able to do everything right away, to build a pen you need to get wood and tools first. Fish are much more cooperative when you can offer them fatter worms. Oh, and remember to talk to your grandparents often and watch for guests. You never know where the next farming mission is coming from.

From the very beginning, your dog can support you in farming tasks, for example you can use him to herd a scattered flock of sheep. But this dog, in addition to a solid bodyweight, has also a lot of character. It is up to you and your training skills whether your companion will help you or get in your way.

There is also a cat. At first, he will not be happy with the new company. It’s your job to convince him that you are a worthy ally. If you succeed, you can use him to discover new missions, hidden places, pest control, and many other tasks on the farm.

The farm is located in the Everdream Valley. You will find there a few biomes with different flora, fauna, and missions. Fields, meadows, forests, a lake, and a river are waiting for you to discover new secrets and tasks, from gathering and sometimes growing fruits and mushrooms to catching fish, collecting insects, and even building a treehouse.

After a day of running through the meadows, fighting with nettles, and sheep riding, it would be good to rest from attractions in a comfy bed. Nothing of that. While sleep will eventually come to you, it will by no means be calm.

Everdream Valley is not your ordinary valley and its residents have their own lives, plans, and secrets.

In your dreams, with the help of a magic hat, you will be able to play the role of various animals. Remember that what you do during at day and night has an impact on the farm. If you don’t fend off the wolves as a dog, you may not have anyone to build pens for when you wake up. The goals of two ducks, who seemingly do not interfere with the life of the farm, may turn out to be completely contrary to the plans of the inhabitants of the henhouse. A cat that is at most a bit cranky during the day at night may aspire to be a war criminal, and war, war never changes.

In all this confusion, there is somewhere an answer to the question of what is actually going on on this beutiful but bizarre farm. You have two months of holidays to find out the answer. One thing is for sure. This will be the most peculiar summer ever.

Review for English Speakers

To begin with I would like to mention that the previous game from this developer was a real revelation for me. I didn’t expect anything special, and yet Catmaze sunk into my soul and was beaten several times. Therefore, when Redblack Spade announced the beginning of the development of a new game and said that it would be a Metroidvania again, I followed the news and expected something unusual and interesting. And when I was finally lucky enough to play it, I wasn’t disappointed.

Teenager Max isn’t having a very good life right now. He’s facing bullies at school, his grandfather recently passed away, and this brings his mother and the abusive step-father back into his life. That’s enough to leave anyone unstable already, but Max also happens to visit a fair, and have an unpleasant encounter with a clown. The memory of this encounter lands in his unconscious mind, and sets off to become more than just a memory- to become a phobia.

“Fearmonium” is a pretty typical Metroidvania: explore the beautifully hand-drawn interconnected levels, bash enemies with your clown hammer, defeat various bosses to gain extra traversal abilities, go to places you couldn’t before. All of these core elements are done well-enough, so what makes the game stand out and be worth the attention?

Get-A-Grip Chip

Get-A-Grip Chip

Get-A-Grip Chip is a fun platformer for people who know one obvious truth: The grappling hook is the best part of every video game.

Launch yourself around the screen navigating terrain and avoiding hazards. You can’t jump, but you spend the majority of the game airborne. The mechanics and sound design feel crisp. The art design is fun without being overly cutesy. The difficulty is intermediate. If you sometimes play games casually with friends/family this is a game that can be picked up pretty quickly and where you can make meaningful progress without being super deftly handed. The game has full controller support, but it plays fine with a Mouse and keyboard. The checkpoints are frequent enough not to inspire extreme frustration. At the same time, each level has secrets and collectibles that require stronger play. It also has a global speedrunning scoreboard for every level, and achievements for completing every level without dying so beating levels without using the checkpoints at all and finding the fastest possible path is rewarding and gives very strong players something to do after completing the main game.

I really enjoyed this title - the mechanics are smooth and easy to employ. I played it on keyboard and mouse and the game itself recommends that the player should use a controller. I really liked keyboard and mouse. Its a great platformer to speedrun; for a greater challenge try to find all of the battery bots. There’s 8 per level and some are overt, others are hidden. There’s a fun rhythm grab, pull, and release. Building momentum is part of the fun. The set pieces on each level keep the game interesting. The highlight is the cute character design and the soundtrack, which I loved.

there are voices in the world today which preach for us to forget our history… to be ignorant of the past and the stories with which our ancestors passed down to us… This is a game that works to keep the cultures of the old american civilizations alive. Its wonderfully animated and there is this having to learn the story element in order to get things to work out correctly every time… its inspiring in both how it was executed as well as the message of keeping the memories of the past alive and acting especially when those histories are threatened. plays well a;though i admit using the ctrl and alt keys are different

This is an action platformer with some puzzle elements. It’s not a traditional metroidvania, because you don’t have a contiguous map; however, there are progression elements, and certain items are impossible to reach without revisiting old areas with new abilities.

The game is primarily level-based. Each level is a story book that takes place over several screens. Depending on your actions, you can be going through different screens, in a unique take on a choose-your-own -adventure books. Each book contains a story from a different Native culture of Latin America, and your objective is to read the legend ahead of time, and then go through the book, making sure the story does not get re-written and forgotten. Just beating each book’s boss does not guarantee a happy ending, but the game does provide hints, and you can run through each book multiple times.
