The Beast Awoke To Eat Your Darlings
Nightmares are haunting you. Set in a variety of different places, they play out in a similar way: there’s a Beast keeping cats in cages. As the Beast gets hungry, they eat a cat. And then another. And so on. The Beast doesn’t like you: if they see you, they start chasing you, and better they don’t catch you – feeling your head being chopped off is quite unpleasant. Luckily there’s always a way out, usually on top of something. Maybe it’s a hot air balloon on top of a skyscraper, or a mysterious door sitting on a cloud… who knows what else. Get there to escape your nightmare. It’s fine to get out by yourself. Best though if you manage to also save all those pets. They feel extremely dear to you. You’ll discover why (as well as discovering what’s actually behind all of these absurdities) if you succeed in beating your nightmare. So go ahead, find a key to open those cages; do also find bracelets to buy catnip (there’s always this weirdo around, he sells you things in exchange for bracelets), so that cats will follow you… up to that door on that cloud.
-
Hand crafted nightmares (“levels”) tailored to offer a variety of creative ways to reach your goals;
-
AI that’s easy to understand, yet never fully predictable;
-
A variety of items to help you in your quest: insta-growing Vines to let you climb walls, Wonderglass to make you invisible, Bubbletrap to trap the Beast, and more;
-
Why the cats? Why the Beast? Discover how each element in your nightmares is actually connected to a past you’ve long forgotten;
-
Granular scoring system and leaderboards provide a never ending challenge;
-
Personalize your experience through “interviews with your therapist” that affect the way the game looks and feel

The Cat and the Coup
The free and very short documentary puzzle game The Cat and the Coup is a gem that i find myself returning to after few years of time away as it simply is such an unique and charming experience in its approach of serious matters of political events that still marks the world of present day.
The game puts you in the role of the cat of the Prime Minister of Iran, Mohammed Mossadegh while the historical events unfolds and his subsequent downfall through a CIA and MI6 engineered coup during the 1950ies which further bricks the road for the eventual iranian revolution two and a half decade later.

A short historical docu-game that showcases a timeline of Iran’s Dr Mossadegh who was the Democrat Prime Minister from 1951 to 1953.
Dr Mossadegh’s policy to nationalise Oil created a backlash from Britain who had control of the oil supplies under the company BP (Brit Petroleum which was first known as APOC - Anglo-Persian Oil Company).
Eventually, with the support of USA’s CIA, a succession of briberies caused a political overthrowing of Dr Mossadegh who was imprisoned for 3 years & kept under walled house arrest until his death as a result.

PUSS!
after a long time i finaly beat this game and trust me it is harder than it looks, i think this game diserves a lot more attention that it is getting.
its sad because its really just luck if these sort of inde games become popular. There are lots of inde horror games like this that get huge amounts of attention on youtube because one youtuber plays a game, then fans recommend that game to other youtubers who play it, then even more youtubers play that game because they saw someone else play the game and they think it would make for a good video, it crates a domino affect of popularity. Im not saying this is a bad thing but it sort of means that you just have to get a little bit lucky. it means that a lot of games that are really good like this one will not be as popular because they are not picked up and advertised by youtube gamers. Let me give an example, recently a game by the name of baldi’s basics in education and learning was picked up and played by youtubers and became very popular though a big wave of popular gaming youtubers playing it. You my or my not have herd of it but a LOT of youtubers played it. Others may disagree but I don’t think it was a very good game, it was ok, but it didn’t bring anything new to the table, it wasn’t very well scary and the gameplay was very RNG based and not really entertaining. You may disagree but they only reason it gained popularity was because one youtuber played it and others followed suit.

Awesome Vaporwave/Glitch art aesthetics wasted on an ungodly abomination of game design. It is truly baffling how one could screw up such a simple idea. Your goal is to move your cursor around a labyrinth without colliding with (often moving and dynamic) geometry, you know, like in the internet classic Scary Maze (the game actually has a level referencing it, so bonus points for that). The levels themselves are absolutely amazing, each one of them is a separate work of Vaporwave art, accompanied by equally sweet soundtrack (composed out of truly bizarre samples, just like Vaporwave should be). Everything moves, glitches out, the mazes suddenly change in shape, and there are a lot of gimmicks to spice things up.

Stray Cat Crossing
Stray Cat Crossing is a short, but intense tour into the rabbithole.
The story’s start is pretty simple - you find the young girl called Cat wandering on the streets, and you offer her to take her back to his house - even giving your scarf to her not to catch a cold on your way. But you realize only after her entering the house that she still has your scarf, which is really dear to your heart, so you enter Cat’s house to find her and ask her for your scarf.
While the short introduction also plays an important part in understanding the whole story, the real content of the game starts after entering the house. On your left you see a blind girl, eyes covered with bandages, holding a camera, meekly asking you if she could take a photo of you… and then you can pick your save slot :) The game developers really cleverly implemented, and inserted the savepoint system in the game that it’s actually a person, who appears at numerous spots during the game, always reflecting to your current actions - it’s wonderfully immersive

“If cats looked like frogs we’d realize what nasty, cruel little bastards¹ they are. Style. That’s what people remember.”
― Terry Pratchett, Lords and Ladies
In one word, Stray Cat Crossing is “stylish”.
Foreword
This would be a “NEUTRAL” REVIEW, if the option were available. Since Steam, in its infinite wisdom, strips us all of the choice, take this as a recommendation as weak as tea deprived of its proper infusion time.
Special thanks to my friend “Lion” for joining me on beating this one. The frustrating parts would have been enraging without someone to share the annoyance with, and the theories would have drifted away without further discussion.

Depanneur Nocturne
A lighthearted exploration game where you are browsing a store for a perfect gift, anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes depending on how many achievements you want to hit; however, I want to point out that most of the secrets in this game add a lot to the experience. There are a few hidden areas that you could miss if you decide to end the game prematurely, so I would encourage everyone to fully explore it - pretty much entire game is optional so it’s up to you when you want to finish. It has a little bit of replay value because there are some gifts that you can’t obtain during the same playthrough, but as far as I can tell they just change a few lines of dialogue at the end. Despite the lack of content, I thought it was a very worthwhile experience with enjoyable narrative and beautiful art style, especially all of that world-building artwork on the walls.

Late evening. A street closed off at either end by roadworks. You need to buy a gift but only one shop is still open.
Inside, you’re greeted by a lizard-like and rather stern shopkeeper, Eugenie. She says she’s teasing, but you’re not sure if she means it. It’s under her watchful gaze, and the ever-glaring eye of a CCTV camera that tracks your every move, you begin to browse the shelves.
You quickly realise there isn’t much to browse. The shelves are well-stocked, yes, but there are only a few items to click on. Still, these items provoke your curiosity. Pleasant music plays while you browse, courtesy of a radio which you’re free to retune. There are strange posters on the wall and even complimentary coffee… though my clumsy efforts at making it elicited laughter from me and a gentle rebuke from Eugénie.

Super Phantom Cat
Hurts to say it, since I really enjoyed this game and will probably come back again to finish off the last world/bonus levels I ignored.
But absolutely don’t buy this.
It’s from a Chinese mobile game company who completely abandoned the project, it was poorly ported over (something I ignored when I originally bought it, blinded by my love for cats and platformers).
You’ll find tons of reviews that had issues with their controller working, I didn’t face this problem but I believe this completely, due to the series of other problems I faced.

If you are an achievement hunter DO NOT buy this game!
I have tried so hard to like this game, but its just not good. It has such cute graphics and the overall gameplay feel is very casual and straightforward. Its just super badly made which is such ashame! There is a glitch with the achievements not unlocking, bugs where the game progress will reset itself and the controls are bad. The keyboard bindings are horrible and I heard some people have problems with their controllers in this game. I personally didn’t get this bug and played with controller, but the movements are sluggish and at times frustrating. Sometimes you have to time your jumps to perfection, but the controls simply aren’t good enough for that kinda gameplay, which leads to tons of frustration.

Cat and Ghostly Road
A beautiful game about a brave soul who will fight everything and overcome any obstacle for a loved one.
A cat named Yang is a character which keeps your heart in his soft white paws til the end of the game. The amount of charm he has is astonishing, Yang is polite, optimistic and admirable, and following his adventure was a very pleasant experience. Visuals are very charming, and locations are changing at just the right pace to keep player awed, but not bored. Puzzles are getting more complicated to the end, but the logic is very clear, so no need for tiringly combining everything and everyone, which is a common downside for many adventure games. Cat and Ghostly Road is light and beautiful experience, full of care and kindness, it was a pleasure to play!

Cat and Ghostly road is a stunning point & click title with gorgeous art and a symbolic story. However, it isn’t without its shortcomings and includes tedious title screens as well as frustrating camera angles throughout the game. Yet, overall, I enjoyed my experience and would recommend to other avid P&C Indie enthusiasts.
Pros
-
Gorgeous, vibrant artwork.
-
Various scenes across different landscapes
-
Steam achievements.
-
‘Cat vision’ which allowed players to see demons.
-
Symbolic story.

Lucid Cycle
As of finishing this game, I have played all of Tonguc Bodur’s games. I love these games and this one just may be my favorite. There is just the right amount of relaxation, using your noodle, and strategy in this one. I can’t wait for the next game. Would love to be a beta tester for future games.

I’ve been a fan of Tonguç Bodur now for quite a while. I find his slow-paced games relaxing and visually stimulating. His creations are often of an introspective nature, exploring life and the inner self. He is the meditating person’s game developer.
“Lucid Cycle” is described as a series of short dream-like experiences. Exploration with minor puzzle elements. It takes around two hours to play through the game, which saves after every dream scene. Apart from a cat, you share your small apartment with an AI that comments on your dream sessions every morning after you wake up.
