Cat President 2: Purrlitical Revolution

Cat President 2: Purrlitical Revolution

Oh, a Rock! Studios is back at it again with the sequel to the visual novel I loved so much. Much like the first game, this game does not pretend to be something it’s not. It gives you everything you’d expect from its title and more. Six new candidates, six more cats to love. If you’re interested by a concept as funny as talking cats running for president, this is the VN for you.

Love this game! My vote would go to either Mr. Biscuits or Kaleidoscope.

I’m meant to stay impartial, but… Vote Kaleidoscope! Basically, 6 new VN’s about cats running for president - depending on the cat you choose! If you liked the crazy of the first, you’ll like this.

Cat Saves Halloween

Cat Saves Halloween

A charming game where you play as a cat during Halloween and try to save people from monsters. This game is still in early development but is already quite fun. I haven’t figured out all the controls yet and my only real concern is that there doesn’t seem to be any help menu that tells me what the keyboard & mouse controls are. How do I climb?! At one point, my cat randomly flew up onto a rooftop and I’m still not sure if that was a glitch or a feature. All in all, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who loves both cats and Halloween.

An excellent atomosphere game in which you can become a superhero cat to save the city from monsters. To do this, you will be given cat’s superpowers that you can use to rescue, explore locations and collect treasures. I definitely recommend it!

Is your cat a murderhobo?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5cDk-cDNiI

If you want to be spoiled, go ahead and watch my video. Fatal Paws puts you into the role of a jaded teacher who picks up a stray cat from another planet. Dive into Pokemon style cat-vs-human fights in-between an overly dramatic plot that makes about as much sense as a bad horror movie. As a tribute to Fickle Sickle’s cat, it’s touching. As a game to buy, I can’t recommend it. But if you decide to, there is a cat video waiting for you at the end.

The fact that they released an old game in this state is absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable.

  • Partial controller support for a game that doesn’t support kb+m despite the fact that it could work (you need workarounds in order to play with Dualshock 4 for gods sake).

  • Constant crashing during load screens. You know that lovely feeling of doing side stuff for hours only to have the game crash on you and removing all your progress because autosave isn’t a thing? Outstanding.

  • No options whatsoever. Wow look, you can toggle fullscreen on or off, so advanced.

SPOILERS AHEAD! PLAY THE GAME FIRST THEN READ MY REVIEW!

Aaaaand that’s the next game all done! What an experience this game was. Let’s begin with the review:

Soooo…once again, I’m glad I gave these games a chance and I’m glad that I bought both of these instead of just one, definitely got a more fuller experience with them. So, where do I stand on this game?

Story/Narrative

While I don’t think this game is narratively better than the first game, The assassins in this game don’t feel like real people at times and more or less just feel like ‘oh, just another bad guy for Travis to fight to get to the top, I guess.’ It’s kind of jarring going from a game that had characters with some levels of depth to them and you could almost feel their struggles up until they died to a sequel where only a few of the assassins actually feel like they’re properly fleshed, and one of those few is just a character from the first game brought back from the dead that Travis himself doesn’t even get to face, with that character being ‘New Destroyman’, instead Shinobu fights him (or rather them since there’s two now and it’s kind of an annoying fight, ngl.) The story is….worse than the first game and while it has it’s good moments in it as well like Henry fighting an anime mecha girl, Shinobu making her moves on Travis which is uhhh…kind of funny and kind of weird at the same time considering the fans who probably DID ship them got slapped in the face and those who didn’t were probably just thinking ‘Yeah, that seems about right’, and Travis and Sylvia having more banter (which was some of my favorite moments in the first game and this one since we got to see the two interact more here and form a sort of…screwed up bond), overall, the story is just…okay, not as good as the first game’s but not god-awful either…Jasper is a really crappy character, though, ngl, he’s comic-book as heck and he really only just made Travis get out of retirement because of him killing Greg/Bishop…who barely mattered before in the games asides from him fetching your bike on NMH1 and running the shop in both games. It’s just kind of sad we didn’t get a better story considering how amazingly improved everything else was.

Roll The Cat

Roll The Cat

I’ve got a cat that gets me up at night myself, so, when I saw this game, I had to play it.

And what can I say - good old Sokoban, cat-themed, with good art style - how can it not be good?

Hey HERE IS AN IDEA…..PUT THE CONTROLS INTO THE GAME YOU created and then SOLD to people. Its silly you cant get a list of controls in a game you paid 10 bucks for

I mean, I wasn’t expecting much. The game was more like a mobile game; bad animation, repetitive, rather boring. I managed to fully complete it (get all the chieves) after about 10 hours (don’t ask me how I played this for 10 hours). If you’re a child, with low standards, this game is for you; otherwise I’d steer clear.

*** RE-REVIEW UPDATE ON JULY 3, 2021 ***

The developer reached out to me via email and asked me to re-review this game after his updates and “big update 3.0”, so I decided to give his game another chance considering the number of updates this game has seen since my first review more than a year ago…

This video shows my reactions to the current state of this game on July 3rd of 2021:

In all honesty and good faith I cannot recommend this game, as I didn’t enjoy it at all, and I believe that even for a tenth of its price you could buy a better game.

If you want you can watch my first impression and some considerations regarding the game and the studio (one man team) in the following video.

https://youtu.be/66hqI4P99lQ

I think everyone should also take into consideration the statement released by the developer on June 22nd, date that follows the production of my video, where I point out things that were then addressed by Cenokga in the following statement: https://cenokga.com/my-experience-after-first-game-release-a-letter-from-the-developer/

Welcome back cat lovers! Finally we are there, our project is finally live and we can’t wait to know what you think! We hope you like it and have your support.

Have fun!

Demo:

Don’t waste any more time reading more and download our free demo. It represents only 5% of the complete game but at the same time it is the perfect prologue to our story. Immerse yourself in a soft feline world and evaluate our project in person!

Story:

• A long and articulated feline plot that will allow you to explore very serious topics alternating them with other fun moments.

• 5 stories parallel to the main plot that will allow you to get to know Taro’s friends better.

• 3 main endings and as many secondary endings!

• A wide range of difficult choices that will change not only the story but also the relationships with the characters and their situation within the plot.

• A continuous change of perspective that will allow you to follow not only the events of the protagonist but also that of other characters, thus giving you the opportunity to relate to every situation.

• A complex, intriguing and realistic character backstory.

Gameplay:

• An immense vastness of different art and expressions capable of making the game feel dynamic and unique.

• A game perspective that will make you feel like an observer who has the power to change what’s going on, with small first-person scenes sprinkled in to help you immerse yourself in specific situations even further.

• A wide range of backgrounds and angles that will allow the world to feel even more alive.

• A relaxing, light soundtrack, alternating with moments of tension and enriched with sound effects that will make each scene even more special.

Details:

A world of cats, a VERY soft character and crazy adventures… this slogan represents exactly the style of play we want to present. “Taro” is an ironic representation of the absurd reality that surrounds us that also performs the task of direct criticism towards it and is explored by a soft character full of defects who faces difficulties with self-irony and a unique style. Everything is further lightened by this imaginative world dominated by cats and by the way they manage society and their everyday life that almost verges on the absurd. A story represented by two opposite sides of the same medal that balances between light-hearted entertainment and dealing with difficult issues. All this is our starting point, our beginning.

This is a demo of the game that presents the opening sequence of our story. Although limited, as it represents only 5% of the complete game, we are proud to introduce you to it and we hope you will enjoy it.

Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered

Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered

Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered is my favorite isekai cat video game. Your entire cat simulator existence is build upon the mantra of: “I am a cat and I must be angry seek justice SEEK VENGENCE .”

You are a cat and you can unlock like a bazillion different cats. Your goal in life is to seek vengence upon your humans and you must do this with furious angery. You can knock everything onto the floor. You can break things. You regain cat energy through cat things. You can munch. You can bite. You can flow things like a sink. You can unroll the toilet paper. You can go to the store and make the conveyor belt go beep beep beep. What more can you possibly ask for?!

There is something very rewarding about watching a stack of dishes shatter to the floor and knowing that you don’t have to clean up the mess.

The original game was one that I would regularly pull out when I wanted to play a game, but nothing didn’t quite know what I wanted. So far, Remeowstered is showing itself to be even more fun than the original. It is a great way to get out some pent up frustration, but it’s also fun when you just want something cute to play.
