Cat Saves Halloween

Cat Saves Halloween

A charming game where you play as a cat during Halloween and try to save people from monsters. This game is still in early development but is already quite fun. I haven’t figured out all the controls yet and my only real concern is that there doesn’t seem to be any help menu that tells me what the keyboard & mouse controls are. How do I climb?! At one point, my cat randomly flew up onto a rooftop and I’m still not sure if that was a glitch or a feature. All in all, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who loves both cats and Halloween.

An excellent atomosphere game in which you can become a superhero cat to save the city from monsters. To do this, you will be given cat’s superpowers that you can use to rescue, explore locations and collect treasures. I definitely recommend it!

A (precision) platformer with light-weighted puzzles, gentle difficulty curve, wacky plot, and hilarious narration. Especially enjoyable to play with a partner. Last few chapters could be a little bit too difficult though, but nothing insurmountable even for casual players.

Support local multiplayer, but controllers are necessary. Otherwise, you can progress in story mode with your friend in online multiplayer mode. When two computers are on the same WiFi network, the lag is nearly imperceptible.

A horribly LAZY port…

$30, for a terrible, terrible port of a game that isn’t even worth $15? How do they have the audacity to charge $30 for this, on PC, when it’s such a dreadful experience to play it on PC? I mean sure, charge $15 for it on consoles or Switch where you can actually play the thing with the intended controls, but to charge TWICE what the game is worth on PC, AND then make such a terrible port, is just taking the piss

Pros:

Cons: #1. No mouse support whatsoever. This is BY FAR the biggest problem.

Very fun and easy-to-play game for 2-players – we are six missions into the game and playing at Normal difficulty. I am not sure how it will scale with more players though.

We also tend to load the ammo as quickly as possible with little regard for the enemy-fired ammo, so as to overwhelm the enemy through sheer ammo numbers. Through this approach, each mission takes us about 10 minutes to complete and thus is manageable time-wise.

Dad’s Coming

Dad’s Coming

After a whole afternoon at home with your sibling, the kitchen’s a mess, your room’s in disarray, you haven’t hung the laundry: a normal day. SUDDENLY… you see on that phone notification that your dad will be coming home early - you hear the garage screeching and opening and… RUN!! DAD’S COMING!!

Meet Bob, the goofy brother who’s scared and clumsy because he can’t contain the anxiety of thinking about the horrible consequences of his actions - not playing video games for the rest of the night. It’s chilling!

Kate, on the other hand, was born for this. It’s been years of intensive training of putting everything away and pretending she’s asleep while her mother’s on the way from the hallway to her bedroom, never once being discovered! And this time’s not going to be different.

To be able to clean up this mess and pretend that nothing happened you will need to:

  • Cooperate by throwing items between rooms until you place them in their respective places

  • Be careful not to break windows or fragile items like grandma’s urn - your mom won’t be too happy if your grandma breaks twice!

  • Keep an eye on Jack, the siblings’ cat! He is always messing around and knocking things over.

  • Use the means in each house to be even quicker, such as service elevators!

  • Watch out for blackouts when it’s raining! Sometimes you will have to reactivate the circuit breaker!

  • And much more!

Wand Wars

Wand Wars

Wand Wars is a really polished game, and probably the best party-game I’ve ever played.

While there’s a clear Lethal League feel to it, it’s clearly more accessible, because the game mechanics are so simple. The problem with Lethal League is that even though it’s an excellent game, it has that fighting game aspect that makes it very complex. You’ve got to learn safe zones, angles of shooting, bunts, with or without jumps, special moves, etc… and consequently, when you hit 50 hours of playtime, your friends will be no match for you anymore.

I love playing four player co-op games that are suitable for groups of varied skill level. This game manages brilliantly, another title with simple controls but surpisingly deep gameplay. Plus superb art and visual effects, stuff that makes the gameplay feel super satisfying when you land that sick off the wall double kill. In addition to the main mechanic of playing dodgeball with a big ball of magic you have power-ups and the ability to turn other players into chickens (take that Kyle). Lastly the game comes with a good selection of maps, each with its own unique twist. One map has fires you can light with your chicken spell, light them all and you summon a minion to help you; another features bubbles that you must break to get the powerups. All in all this is one of those games that will have all your friends asking when they can stop by and play again.

Whether you are a fan of the Shoot em' up genre or just looking for something to play with your friends on a game night this is a nice game to play!

This game has fast-paced action with varied level design that will keep you playing it until the end, Keep in mind that this is a short but sweet game (Just like the classics such a Gradius) although considering the price tag that’s totally fair.

Although good this game is not perfect, some times the game throws you mandatory dialogue between a stage or before a boss battle and don’t get me wrong I love the characters and the great story they built here but once you want to replay this game or a stage it can become annoying, a skip button for those would be excellent.

☑️Challenging Shoot Em Up.

☑️An emotional story.

☑️Fun game to Co-op / Remote Play

❌Online-Multiplayer

B.ARK is a very colorful and cute throwback to the classic shoot em up games from the golden ages. Games like U.N. Squadron, R-Type and many others that hit’s a special place in a 80s/90s kids heart.

The game comes with a rather unusual twist, there is a solid emotional story about the crew of animals that have been lost in space after their team of scientists detached their space ship after being caught and pulled back down to earth by the aliens that were invading the planet.

Aqua Kitty - Milk Mine Defender

Aqua Kitty - Milk Mine Defender

I recently discovered and fell in love with this game. I’m going to explain why Luuthian’s negative review wrong:

I’m going to agree with his good points:

|Good:

|- Great pixel art

|- Decent amount of levels/content for an arcade style game and the price.

|- Very easy to learn and control.

and add:

  • Excellent music

  • Multiple difficulty levels, (but even easy is not casual easy.) on easy mode you have more starting life, less enemies spawn and they shoot less bullets

  • Extremely polished gameplay for its genre.

In the space year 20XX, the entire world’s supply of milk appears to have “ran dry”. This would suggest to me that sometime in the future all form of breasts will become either extinct or outlawed and force us to look elsewhere for our creamy goodness. As luck would have it for our kitty chums, though, “deep under the ocean, vast amounts of what appear to be naturally forming full fat milk were discovered”. Don’t ask me how the milk is now lying under the ocean. Perhaps all the world’s mammaries will migrate to below the surface to escape danger or persecution in the future? Either way I guess it’s only natural that boobs would eventually start heading downwards with the passage of time. But however they got there, the kitties are determined to get it out and launch an operation to mine it and send the milk gushing back forth into the world once more. But it’s not a task without peril for our hungry kitties as they’re attacked by unknown enemies who try to kidnap the underwater miners and keep all the lovely, delicious milk for themselves. “OH NOES!”, cries the kitty captain. Oh noes, indeed. So out sets a brave pilot to shepherd the miners and destroy the threat, keeping his furry brethren in one piece and saving the world’s milk(/boobs?) in the process…

The game is cute and great and relaxing. Just hunt baby chickens for food, walk up to to the water right where you first start for water, and sleep to regenerate health. Open the barn, for kittens to follow you. Cats are by the barn too. Amazing game, love it.

*** RE-REVIEW UPDATE ON JULY 3, 2021 ***

The developer reached out to me via email and asked me to re-review this game after his updates and “big update 3.0”, so I decided to give his game another chance considering the number of updates this game has seen since my first review more than a year ago…

This video shows my reactions to the current state of this game on July 3rd of 2021:

In all honesty and good faith I cannot recommend this game, as I didn’t enjoy it at all, and I believe that even for a tenth of its price you could buy a better game.

If you want you can watch my first impression and some considerations regarding the game and the studio (one man team) in the following video.

https://youtu.be/66hqI4P99lQ

I think everyone should also take into consideration the statement released by the developer on June 22nd, date that follows the production of my video, where I point out things that were then addressed by Cenokga in the following statement: https://cenokga.com/my-experience-after-first-game-release-a-letter-from-the-developer/
