Historical Jigsaw Puzzle: World War I
Jigsaw puzzle game. Images are from the First World War and the era around it. Decent enough, I guess.

11-11 Memories Retold
achievements
overall, it is not a bad pick for achievement-hunters: no bugged or glitched achievements, no grind, everything is tight and simple (and achievements themselves are vary in goals), but the whole hunting is tedious. without a thoughtful detailed guide you will replay the same stages again-and-again with unskippable cutscenes. also various collectibles are hard to see because of artsy graphics. so, in a nutshell, good hunting overall, but it will be more irritating than fun

For some reason, I decided to play both “11-11 Memories Retold” and “Call of Duty: WWII” simultaneously. Now, these games might be drastically different: one is a poetic tribute to the fallen of WWI, and the other is more of a straightforward, gritty representation of WWII. But in my playthroughs, I actually found out some odd similarities between them:
-
They make you control different characters interchangeably;
-
They both have rather unnecessary flying sections;
-
They both try to educate gamers about the wars with collectables;

War Mines: WW1
Great game!
Congratulations to the Devs! This is the best minefield retelling I’ve ever played :)
The idea of bringing the WW1 theme fit perfectly to illustrate the game.
This is a game where you have a lot of fun and relax for hours as you progress through the levels.
I’m addicted!

Loved the research that has been done on The Great War (aka World War I). I learned something about WWI that I did not previously know about the dogs used. This is a quick game though. Like many people, completed the game in less than an hour. Gives a new spin on the old Windows Minesweeper game.

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol
Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol is a fun, although highly unrealistic at times, turn-based strategy game set during The Great War (aka World War I). How much you enjoy it, however, depends on several factors, all of which shall be discussed in this review.
The first thing many gamers on Steam will notice is that the graphics aren’t particularly high-res and the options menu within the game is severely limited. You can’t even set the game’s resolution and as far as I can tell, there’s no anti-aliasing at all.

This Game is Great! It’s like the Panzer Corps of the sky (although with less pieces and less missions). Its a lot of fun and it never really gets old as you will always be competing to get the best pilots possible! Ever seen the Blue Max? Now you can fight to win Germany’s highest aviation medal in this game! The war develops and so do your planes. Ace Patrol Pacific sky’s I also highly recommend because its more missions and more planes! Plus there are acutally battles where your planes keep damage points until the battle finishes, so you have to be careful. I hope they continue this game series because its really fun! Need to enterain yourself for a few minutes? Then this game is perfect! It’s got hotseat to so you can battle against your brother, sister and your friends!

The Lost Battalion: All Out Warfare
So I’ve played a bit of the game, and I’m surprised that this game actually gave me a good time in playing it.
It brought me back to the time when I had an Atari (when I was 4-5 years old).
There were a load of Arcade games, just like this one and I had the time of my life playing them back in the day :d.
I bought the game with a coupon 50 % off. For 50 cents, this game is great.
I see there are a lot of negative reviews. Its like when people buy a 1 euro/dollar game, they expect Skyrim, or something ?

EDITED REVIEW AFTER 6 MONTHS:
I am changing this review because the game and the developer have both shown a lot of improvement. First let me say that the developer is human and it’s not an easy job. Gamers are quick to espouse their opinions and rarely offer the same degree of politeness expected in person. It can be very hard to hear harsh criticism from strangers when you have shown the bravery to share your art with the world at large and sometimes hurt feelings can lead you to make rash decisions. In this case the developer has matured and taken the criticisms to heart. He has stopped censoring opinions and put a lot of hard work into his game. It shows and it is appreciated. I now support this developer and look forward to his future work. I would also like to apologize if I offended Jake from Statefarm at any stage of the process.

War Remains: Dan Carlin Presents an Immersive Memory
There’s a serious lack of this kind of experiences on VR. One of the advantages of VR over regular games is that by putting you in the game/experience, you are not simply watching something, you are part of it and it triggers an emotional response you couldn’t have otherwise. I loved the idea of experiencing a WW1 documentary on VR, and I think it works very well… except for one thing:
Dan Carlin was NOT a good choice to narrate this. it’s like he’s trying to sound cool to a bunch of kids. Some of the things he says are just unappropriate. Talking about the dirty environment where battles took place, he says that to the soldiers, it was a strange landscape that looked “like the moon… but weirder”. Seriously? He doesn’t sound like he should narrate historical stuff, he sounds like he should narrate a WWE fight. Personally, his narration is to this documentary what pineapple is to pizza. Everything else works well, it’s a shame.

If you like Hardcore History, this is an amazing telling. Dan Carlin has an incredible voice and way of wording that makes narration thought provoking, imaginative, and informative. Many narrators tell stories at you, where Dan immerses you. The telling, the quotes, and now the images together are likely the closest you’ll get to that sought after: ‘Is this what I would be thinking, or feeling, if I were there right now?’. Certainly so within the confines of your home.
This takes us one step closer to the ‘being there’, or downloading a memory and reliving someone else’s experience.

Nature Park
Normally I would even play more before reviewing, but this isn’t even playable due to the many bugs. I ran into invisible walls, immortal monsters, bodies going through the floor, sound disappears on the loading screen, crashes on launch,.. but the graphics do seem beautiful! But then Game Guru provides good assets.

Imagine a default demo map included with the GameGuru engine used, but plagued with invisible walls and a handful of terrible looking creature assets. The creatures die and then pop back up with infinite health.
As bad as GameGuru games are, this has to be one of the absolute worst GameGuru games ever exported.
The price of $24.99 USD is absolute insanity, but this trash wasn’t uploaded onto Steam to sell copies here, it most definitely was uploaded just to sell keys on key selling websites to make a quick and easy profit.

Panzer War : Definitive Edition (Cry of War)
Best game in the world
well optimised, beautiful and fun
but most of interface its kinda Chinese so changing graphics it’s bit hard (u can only change to med or low or full instead of going custom cuz u may change anything wrong and the graphics became bit ugly or weird.
I hope the dev can change/fix that (to revert graphics changes, mainly at de version, just go to the game folder, dlc folder, panzerwar-de folder, saves folder and delete achievements and common files, then every option (graphics, key bind, ui etc) will be set to default

After playing both Panzer War and Cry of War for about a year now, I can can say for a fact that the recent few updates killed the vibe for me. This game was great before the recent big patch. Not because of aircraft, but because of the map changes and the re-placement of all the vehicles. The tank were fine in their respective sections. This update made late WWII tanks face cold war tanks? I know this isn’t War Thunder, but god damn, no poor M24 should have to go up against IS-3s and T32s. The Desert map was awesome, and in my opinion, it was the best in the game. This update ruined it so much, you cant play it at all. All the other maps are either too small or just don’t flow right. So here’s how to fix your game.

Toy Soldiers
Bombs whistle overhead, exploding into hot pieces of plastic that rain down upon the young boys and old men hiding in the french soil below. Broken barbed wire, shattered wood and dead lifeless plastic scatter the land, with the distinct sound of airplane engines roaring up in the grey skies. Machine gun fire snuffs out the cries and moans of mutilated plastic. Then megatron crushes the laser ship that the french had, and if you thought that wasen’t enough, a giant dog 50 times the size of any man comes crashing down, chewing up soldiers like they were beef jerky. This is the First World War.. kinda.

It’s a simple and somewhat linear tower defense game. I say somewhat linear because your towers are limited to static build platforms. You can’t just place a tower anywhere, it has to be on these preplaced platforms so strategically speaking it’s not that difficult. The one redeeming factor is there are pilotable vehicles on each battlefield. You can either pilot a medium tank, a heavy tank, a fighter plane or a bomber plane. You may also take control of any tower so these factors make up for the linearity of the tower placements.
