Vermillion
TL;DR- If you like Art and have a VR Headset get it!
I managed to sneak into Beta for this pre release and I have nothing but good things to say.
Vermillion is a fantastic and relaxing VR Art experience. This is oil painting in VR at its best and without the mess! If you are into Art at all; in any capacity, you will feel right at home with Vermillion. You can expect to spend anywhere from 45 minutes to a dozen hours on a finished painting, or more. How much creativity you put down on the canvas is up to you.

Wow. Just Wow. I’ve never used a VR app which so accurately captured what it FEELS like to create art in front of you. Apps like Tilt Brush and it’s ilk are great for making 3D art, but none of them quite capture the feeling of creating something real as well as Vermillion does, in my opinion. Great job on this one Thomas, I’m excited to see what improvements you have planned.
I don’t consider myself artist by any stretch of the term (I’m an engineer), but honestly, Vermillion has become a nightly ritual for me, spending 30-60 minutes every night before bed just meditating and creating something on the canvas.

Anyland
UPDATE November 2018 – I’ve clocked over 1,300 active hours in Anyland. Absolutely the best VR program/game/universe, no competition.
UPDATE January 2017 – I’ve now clocked over 200 active hours in Anyland over the past ~3 months, surpassing all other Steam games' /played. #1 VR program for me indeed.
The devs are still adding features, many from suggestions, every few days.
After teaching a few new players & friends, there is a learning curve to designing well, but it’s easy to get up to speed by just building (practice practice practice) and experimenting. With the friendly community, bouncing ideas off each other & helping solve design problems is fun.

I had always had VR on my mind. Just the thought of being transported into another world was what I always dreamed of. However, when I finally configured all the hardware needed for VR, I was slightly disappointed in what software options I had. ‘Let’s make something that people are used to’ some of the developers agreed. The zombie shooters the space traders the walking simulators the gun simulators, they never really appealed to me. Even the new social hubs offered very little. In a surge of desperation, I frantically scrolled through the endless streams of steam reviews, looking for that hidden gem the one application to shine above the rest. Then from out of nowhere I found it. An application with positive user reviews and a compassionate community. I had found my Anyland. I thought to myself, what have I got to lose and downloaded it. It makes me smile now to believe that I did what most new players in Anyland do when they find their own biscuit in space. I made a few objects a table, a desk lamp, half a wall and a flowerpot and then I closed the app. 3 months later; I don’t know why, I re-opened Anyland and stumbled upon the areas button. What was this ? I hit an interesting nightclub link and then something special happened to me. I was suddenly surrounded by a rich area full of colours and music. For over an hour I danced to myself. Here I was with a nightclub to myself, my face started hurting from my smile pushing against the headset. This is what I wanted. I’m happy to role play this I heard myself saying. It’s funny to look back but I still thought that this was the creation of a crazed developer and my introduction to scripting my first head, a daft punk stylized which was to later haunt me was just part of the fun. However, on my second visit to the nightclub the day after, a whole new world opened up to me. Suddenly one avatar appeared on the dance floor follow by, two then four five six all at once all animated. Closer they curiously looked at me. A double take later and I carried on with my fun, thinking nothing of it. One of the green haired avatars stood next to me and spoke.

Final Approach
This is a great game.; however, all the other scenarious are really just prep for Airport Overload. This game should have started with Airport Overload and capitalized on that @#@$ to the moon and back. AO was and is one of my favoirite things to do in VR. It is Zen. It is difficult. It is 360degrees. Highly underrated game. I’m not saying the other stuff isn’t fun; it is, but Airport Overload would be great as a standalone. You have to land 50 aircraft -from passenger jets to helicopters to small airplanes, a few military planes, without crashing one or crashing any into each other. No putting out fires or aliens or any of that other stuff. Just constant aircraft needing to land, refuel and change passengers, and takeoff without running into each other. So you’re managing all the aircraft in the sky, the 3 runways and several helipads, and managing planes on the ground to get to the terminals, then taking everything off when done. If one aircraft crashes into the ground or hits another aircraft, you’re done and must start over. Airport Overload is a total blast, and 2 years in it remains one of the most fun things I’ve ever done in VR. The only bummer? It stops at 50 aircraft serviced. This scenario should be able to be played to 100 aircraft, or 1000…or be able to go indefinitely until you crash something. Seriously. Devs, deepest respect because this game is !@#$ing AWESOME!,,,but, Airport Overload should have been the hook for this game. If you ever throw anything else out for this game, that would be my ask, Unlimited Airport Overload.

This game is an example of some of the creative new genres being made possible by VR. The core of the game is built around air traffic control and guiding planes through landing and take off while keeping them from crashing into each other. Sounds kind of “plane” but its actually a lot more fun than it sounds.
The gameplay is quite original. You use your hand to touch planes and draw a line in the air to give them a flight path. Better keep the lines smooth and the turns gradual or they might crash. A small plane might be able to make a tight turn but a jumbo jet can’t. There are also lots of mini games you have to keep on top of to keep things running like loading bags into the right carts, shooing birds off the runway and putting out the occasional engine fire. On the Navy fleet level you can defend the fleet with some anti-aircraft guns.

Old Friend
This can evoke joy in most people and will even cause sourpusses to bust out in dance. Until the remember they are being watched.
If happiness lasts for more than a few hours, see your doctor.
Details:
It’s essentially a music video with some interactive elements and a lot of content packed into 3 minutes. The dancers will bat you away if you try to interfere with their dance routine. The clouds and mountains will get super happy if you look at them. When the big head shows up it will follow your view so you can’t miss it. During the free dancing segments each dancer has a unique (community submitted) silly dance. So you’ll have to watch it a few times if you want to see all of them.

This must have been made by the same people who made the Butts experience. It doesn’t seem that way according to the charts, but the eyeballs look so similar. It’s pretty cool in it’s own right. Like a VR marching band. Sadly, it might not be worth 3 dollars until you’ve exhausted other options for VR music videos, but that’s ok.
! It’s also years old now, and should really just be a dollar, but I’m trying not to be a stinker. Well, I don’t know, those are some impressive VR arms/hands. https://youtu.be/XDt22ZdgpbM

Electronauts - VR Music
As part of a VR company specializing in widespreading VR to people that might never have the chance to own a VR headset in their lives, or try VR again, my job is to ensure that the games people play from us is something unforgettable. Quickies like Space Pirate Trainer and Longies like Fallout VR are good examples on good games that people may never forget. Electronauts is in between, but it does make for a good experience.
I wouldn’t call this a game, there’s no objective other than mixing music, and one does not win or lose…you just jam…but you still feel glorious, like “I did that, i can’t believe i did that”. THAT’S what Electronauts is all about: Making you feel like a badass dj, be it if you had previous dj-ing experience or not.

Currently edging out Beat Saber and Superhot as my favorite VR experience.
If you’ve ever listened to a song over and over again just to pick out the different instruments or notes,
If you’ve ever wished you could jam out to a song but lack all musical talent,
If you’ve ever just wanted to zone out to good music by yourself - or with others, even,
Get this game. It’s absolutely hypnotic. The presentation is flawless, you can jam with a friend, and the music is diverse and GOOD.
Biggest surprise for me is how this game is perfect for parties and streaming. There are options built in to make this game more visually appealing to a party IRL or via stream. You can even ‘stream’ from a virtual selfie stick if you’re not happy with the default first-person or roving camera.

A Fear Of Heights, And Other Things
An early, somewhat drab, but fairly generous offering of VR experimental experiments. Easily worth a dollar, back then, and maybe even now too, but of course, you could consume endless amounts of this stuff in ways that are free. I like the scene where you get crushed in between the walls. Hell, you know what? This is all pretty good now that I’m remembering it. Fork over your dollar, idiot. https://youtu.be/XFuMWoaa6KY

Air Traffic BLITZ VR
Great game in general. Absolutely stunning graphics which are very realistic. It really looks like there has been time put into creating it and not just different pieces from other games put all into one. I totally recommend the game for all those who love VR games and are into planes and how airports work!

An interesting game for VR helmet owners. The gameplay is fascinating and addictive. Reminds me of a board game to a certain point, where you have to react and distribute the traffic. It is influenced by factors like the climate, that can complicate situation.
The graphics though sketchy but very enjoyable, the muted colors relax and tune in the appropriate way. Like a critic, I note a little bit unresponsive control, the aircraft sometimes do not respond to commands

Alice Mystery Garden
Just moments ago, I had the distinct pleasure to complete Alice Mystery Garden (AMG), and with few exceptions, had an exceptional VR experience. While the future may be filled with compliments such as “makes outstanding use of the VR medium” to describe games making the transition from “good VR game” to simply “good game that happens to be VR”, AMG will likely be a game that can proudly wear this badge for quite a long time yet.
Alice Mystery Garden touts itself as a puzzle game, and it is….sort of. I’d be more tempted to label it “games using simple puzzles to explore just how comfortable and fun VR can be.” As might be expected, AMG starts really sweet and cute, then goes progressively darker and darker. From flowers in gardens to skeletons in cemeteries in fewer steps than one might expect. Still, no deaths, and falls are slow and graceful.

This game is excellent. I have only played through the first 8 or 9 levels but I can already see it being one of my favourite puzzle games. (I stopped playing to write this review as I’m so impressed). The mechaninc of switching from top down view to first person view is great. I really like it. The puzzles are entertaining. Not too difficult, but I’m only on the early levels. Graphics are lovely (Can’t think of any other way to describe them).
Similar in mechanic to Captain Toad treasure tracker but, (I’m afraid to say) I prefer this. And I’m a massive Nintendo fan. The way you can look around the level and lean in for a closer inspection is ace.
