Train Town
Great value and fun for kids
Pros
-
Lots of items for little ones to explore
-
Characters, cars, and roads are nice extras
-
Controls are semi-kid friendly
-
Smooth animation
-
Ability to save game
Cons/Possible improvements
-
My four year old plays using a mouse and occasionally will have issues laying track. Sometimes portions of the track loops back on itself or disappears on him
-
Four year old thinks camera movement is backwards (He has other games you drag the way you would want to go), would be nice to have option of changing this.

My 4 year old, 6 year old, and my 6 year old’s friend from school all played this game. They wanted more time while playing, but were happy to do something more fun and less limiting when an alternative was provided. You could say, “Oh, but they’re being creative.” However, I feel like my kids are WAY more creative when I just open up Paint. Why have them play this game when they can be less limited, and have more fun with almost anything else?
Honestly, you don’t have many options. Lay out the track. Place down objects. Choose a train. There is some interaction between objects. For example, your train can run over the orcs, exploding them into green goo. Trains can crash into eachother or other objects, throwing them off the track. You can speed up, slow down, and reverse your trains. The sandbox has a very limited area, too.

Train Train Train
Fairly simple game, fun artstyle and gameplay. Difficult at some points but you can overcome these problems over time.

A lovely cute relaxing puzzle game, that requires building and management of several train station and tracks while also paying attention to not run over any animals.
Great game to pop in and relax for a bit by playing a couple levels.
Theres also a custom editor, so you can create a cute looking hell trainstation for all your friends to “enjoy”.
Looking forward to the sequel ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Also: I like trains :)

Trainz Trouble
I don’t review many games but I had to review this one. This is just so much fun. I am a 43 year old bloke sitting there routing trains round things and having an amazing time. I’ve played all sorts of games like this over the years and this is one of my favourites. It starts off simple but gets progressively harder. I do have to say that I finished all of the levels in a little over two days of on and off gameplay so it’s not going to last you forever but it’s just such a brilliant and fun game.

Totally recommended if you can get this game to start! I first bought it back in January 2016 and what I saw of it was addictively enjoyable with excellent graphics. Then around nine months later it abruptly stopped working and I am not the only one to have been affected by whatever has happened to this game. Shame because until then the game was scoring very highly with me but now it will not even start well what can I say. Except of course 0/5!

Runaway Train
Sad to say I do not recommend this game. I like the premise of snake games but, there is a glaring bug that will pop up at almost anytime. It seems the stations are picked at random but, a station that has allready been passed through can also be picked again meaning there is no way to pass through an allready completed station. you can cross tracks allready layed but, you can not connect to a layed track. I made it to level 48 within reach of the normal: 50 cities achievement when this happened needless to say I was disappointed. Speaking of achievements, I have 2 hours in and have only visited 97 stations. If you play games for the thrill of getting Achievements they contain. I would def say pass this one up as they will take quite a while to attain. I will complete the game as I do with most all achievement games I have but, It will be more of a chore than having any type of fun.

5.00001/10 meh (Cannot believe this isn’t a F2P game)
Not Good enough for a ringing endorsement. Not Bad enough to rip with a Neg review.
Such a fun, unique concept, but falls flat on its face with totally bland GUI and scenery (just like screenshots above)
The constantly panning camera sometimes takes train completely out of view & is just pitiful, almost unplayable.
Can only recommend this game on D-E-E-P discount - I picked up for 70% off in the recent sale, so no regrets - However, at Full price - I cannot recommend. Cheers

Paper Train Traffic
Well It’s taken me four months to get through all 300 levels. As I started playing the game in September this year & yes there were times I would get rapidly annoyed with the trains derailing in fast succession.
However there is still a sense of achievment once you complete all of the 300 levels as they do vary in difficulty & that’s a good thing as you do have the constant challenge of clearing the lines for the next train.
I didn’t get bored at all either & another nice thing is the game is easy to dip into maybe achieve a few levels & then maybe take a break & come back another day & play again to unlock further levels.

Paper Train: Traffic is a mobile app that’s been dumped on Steam as a cheap, lazy cash grab. It’s a simple top down 2D “routing” game where you control trains on tracks, make sure there’s no collisions, and get the trains off the screen before the time runs out. You can stop, start, and switch tracks, making the game a clicker/action puzzle game more than anything else. The game uses a hand-drawn ballpoint pen style.
The artwork is really good for what it is, so the artist was talented, but the gameplay doesn’t keep up. As a mobile app, it’s too simplistic for Steam.

Railroad Engineer
Railroad Engineer is a train simulation game. You build railroads, drive trains, collect resources, deliver goods, and watch cities grow. There several types of raw resources that spawn randomly on the map. You can build resource collection buildings to collect there resources and then transport them to manufacturing facilities to convert them into more advanced goods. There are also several different rail cars in the game, and each one is used to transport specific types of goods and resources. Ores can only be transported in ore cars, liquids in tank cars, and so on.
Resources and goods:
There are currently six raw resources in the game; wood, coal, iron, rock, food, and oil. These resources are collected by placing the appropriate resource collection building on the respective resource. Raw resources can then be transported to manufacturing buildings to be combined into more advanced goods and products. There are currently seven products in the game; lumber, steel, processed food, fuel, chemicals, and medicine. These are created at manufacturing facilities by combining raw resources and other products.
Rail cars:
There are currently four types of rail cars in the game; ore car, log car, box car, and tank car. Each car can only carry the appropriate resources and goods. Rail cars are produced at the Train Depot from steel. Make sure to have the appropriate cars for the resources and goods that you intend to transport.
Villages, Towns, and Cities:
You can create your own villages and grow them by supplying them with food. Villages start small, but in time can grow and eventually be upgraded into Towns, and then into Cities. Towns and Cities require more types of goods than just food, and you are able to build high density buildings such as low-rise and mid-rise apartments.
Rolling Line
This is the perfect game for a low budget model railroad enthusiast.
I absolutely love this game. I’m a big model railroad enthusiast, and I enjoy running trains at both my model railroad club or just a shitty oval on my bedroom floor. I’ve always wanted to have a proper model layout but never had the resources or space to make one. This game solves all of that.
I originally found out about this game from an Instagram post from the developer. after reading up about it i was instantly interested in the game i bought it only a few days later. My first few layouts were a bit to big or detailed for my shitty old laptop, but i still enjoyed making all of them.

now i play this thing on pc
tldr at the bottom go look
in summary
there are a few bugs. there are so few i will list them here:
-
faulty connections of trains causing derailments (cars merging into each other then disconnecting themselves from the rest of the train) -
slight studder of each train car when moving (noticeable with long trains looking from the end of the long train)
-draw distance
- clicking on load game makes the menu ginormous so you cant load a game (for me at least)

Train Frontier Classic
This is a completely awesome release of a former xbox 360 game. If you played it on there, you should definitely play it on PC. Reasons? Multiplayer is doubled; Now eight players can share a layout. There appears to be NO MEMORY LIMIT for placing of tracks and objects - I am guessing that this is entirely dependent upon your system memory. The only limit seems to be the soze of the ‘world’, and that seems t be about the same size as it always was.
If you haven’t played this befoe and like fun train games, then give this a go. Its not a serious sim, but it is tremendous fun, and some truly awesome ‘layouts’ can be created amd shared with those that ‘visit’ your layout. Loads of locos and rolling stock included, but you must make your consist before you take to the track, and you cannot currently uncouple your consist, and can only one one train in solo mode - however, the playing fun of this is definitely in the Multiplayer Mode, and in teh hours you can spend building your layouts, which is both fun and easy. Five stars out of five!

World of Subways 2 – Berlin Line 7
Ok, so I got the game on my Windows 8 PC, and it worked well! If you like trains, or basically the Berlin Subway, like me, you have to buy this! I wonder to myself on how I ever first found Berliner Underground. That actually came from a suggested video on YouTube. Autistic exploration is required for maximum enjoyment of this game, just like me! It’s a fair price for a generally modern game. Not sure if it works on Mac… It’s really tough to learn how to control the trains when you start for your first time, but you get used to it later. For that, I would recommend watching World Of Subways Vol 2 videos before your actual gameplay. Plus, about the trailer - In the beggining, it seems like a “scary” game, like Portal 2 (another game). But then, it’s a tiny bit more interesting. When you play, and see the damaged or strange looking parts of the train tunnels, or any other interesting parts, that can really spike your senses for the game. The textures are so detailed and basically, every texture is correct! Every texture is exactly the real thing! Like, you tecnically reinvented Berliner U-Bahn! I also recommend that you could make a timetable for a route from Rathaus Spandau to Jakob-Kaiser-Platz, maybe. Except, there’s no terminus area for it! The terminus is only for trains bound for Rathaus Spandau at Jakob-Kaiser. You know what else I want you to add to the game? A mode where you can ride the trains all around the subway line! To ALMOST sum it up, without this software, I’d be the most bored person in the world! Thanks for German people!!! C4 Engine, TML Studios, Aerosoft, THANKS SO MUCH!!!!! You have opened my imagination to the maximum! Speaking of that, I imagine that I realistically have an F90 and H01 trains (the two types of rolling stock trains in this game) right in my front and back yards of my house, AND I drive them around the yard! THAT’S how EPICALLY HUGE you’ve made my imagination grow! I could describe it much more, but I honestly don’t even know how, REALLY!!! Anyway, it gets to be real fun and you’ll never stop playing! I RECOMMEND THIS GAME, DEFINITLY!!!!!

If you already have experience with TS (Train Simulator) or TZ (Trainz), and are looking for something fast pace (tight schedules, AI loving to hold your train with red lights) and you really don’t mind a few bugs left in the game (2 out of 5 missions/scenarios are broken, but the make your own shift is just fine), then this is a simulation worth your time and money. It all takes place underground. You’ll never see the light of day (play WOS3 - London for daylight and weather). If you’ve never played a train sim, I wouldn’t steer you away from WOS2, but it will be frustrating. There is no tutorial like TS or TZ and unless you read or understand German, (Youtube is no help, all reviews are in German) you’re on you own. After you configure/map the game controls to your liking, it just a matter of getting drive time before it all clicks and the sim becomes enjoyable. For the current price I paid ($14.99) it gets my thumbs-up.
