Finger Breaker

It’s a cool little game but you could get problems depending on what keyboard you have. With most keyboards you get ghosting which prevents you from pressing all buttons and completing the level.

50¢ is a steal. Fun concept and very well made. Fingers are broken, so I am using voice to text to write this review.

Avoid this game if you have a short temper with difficult games, because this game will really test your patience to the very limit. Don’t know what kept me going, I must admit, that I somehow felt challenged, but it’s not a game i want to go through again.

Review ### 53

TL;DR 4 speeding busses out of 10

Pros

  • Just look at all of those achievements

  • The graphics actually are not the worst I’ve seen

  • There is variety

Cons

  • The game is just not fun

  • There doesn’t feel like there is any progress made from one race/track to the next

  • Floaty controls

Impressions of the game

I feel like this game’s primary selling point is the amount of achievements that it has. There is nothing wrong with that but after you have unlocked them all the game leaves a lot to be desired. It feels barren both in content but also in the game world. It was completely functional in my experience however. That may or may not be offset by the price of the game. For many people, a functional game at 50 cents is worth it. Even so I do not feel as though I could recommend it to anyone. It is definitely something that I will complete an be happy knowing that I will not be going back to experience it again.

Barro

This is a racing game where we choose one of four cars and race on one of the nineteen tracks. We have a choice of two game modes, one of which is a time trial and the other is a computer race.

Let’s start with the fact that this is a simple arcade game, where you can’t expect to take into account the laws of physics. That is why sometimes our car may start to behave strangely when it crashes with a bot.

The tracks in the game are all made in the same way. There is definitely a lack of diversity here, and different weather conditions do not change anything at all. The routes are short, and therefore we can learn them by memory very quickly. This can be an advantage and a disadvantage of this game. The choice of car is also not important.

This game is really addicting and competitive.

If you like puzzle games, this is your game. When you try it you cannot stop it.

PROS:

  • Brutal game feel with gamepad.

  • Always want to play one level more.

  • Good learning curve.

  • Tribute Maps are so cool.

  • Frenetic and original experience.

CONS:

  • Not yet.

I think for the content, this game is really cheap.

Okay, lets just start with a littany of issues,

-The control system is fiddly, you get used to it but it can take a long time before you are fast enough to cope with higher levels.

-Feedback about overflowing the board, time running out, and moves running out are all denoted by the same sound.

-The warning sound doesnt go off if any warning is still in place, so solve a problem and you can end up missing that a second problem silently turned up.

-Any visual indicator of issues is often lost in the mess of whats being displayed.

Furfly

Furfly

I like the aesthetic, but Furfly otherwise commits an unfortunate number of mistakes.

The main issues here tie in with Furfly’s rather strict time limits. While levels having strict time limits is not a bad thing in and of itself, the game doesn’t properly take this into account. Most notably, the positions of moving hazards are not reset upon death. As hazard positions don’t reset, it’s far too easy to run into a situation where you sail past a hazard on one attempt and on the next attempt you waste precious seconds waiting for that same hazard to move out of the way, which in turn causes you to run out of time before reaching the goal.

The art of this game is what grabbed me at first. Ported from the mobile platform? I don’t really notice it; well-designed and well-developed, although some improvements can be made: as soon as you die, the furfly (or maybe Black Lum ) respawns correctly, but boxes, rocks, saws etc. don’t get their initial position most of the time, which makes it easier, but sometimes difficultier; taking into account the time pressure, it’s annoying sometimes.

Gos Castle Runner

Gos Castle Runner

I went in with an optimistic mindset, and man was it dashed into pieces. This feels like the kind of game you might download on your phone while you’re waiting for the toast in your toaster to reach the right amount of burn. It’s a runner game, through relatively short levels filled with obstacles.

You’re a ghost, so timing your jumps is a bit problematic as it’s a little frustrating determining exactly what portion of your body is going to be the best jumping off point. Avoid obstacles, such as spikes, because they’ll either kill you or slow you down depending on how many lives you have. Extra lives can be picked up in levels, and you’ll start over with a handful of lives after you extinguish what you had.

There is life system in this game, but there are no remaining-lives.However, there is a penalty for continuing.

If you do too much continuity, you’ll be a “sluggard”.

Beware of oxygen and stamina!

Not only will MAGURO suffocate if they don’t swim, but they won’t be able to breathe in time even if they are swimming sluggishly.

However, if you keep swimming at high speed, you will lose your stamina. In such cases, let’s eat sushi. Sushi is a great food for restoring stamina.

There are also air bubbles and oxygen tanks to help you breathe, so take advantage of them and reach your goal in one piece.
