Sakuya Izayoi Gives You Advice And Dabs

Now one may be wondering how I could be reviewing this after 1175 hours of playtime. I realize this is simply not enough to fully appreciate this masterpiece, but at the very least it is now my most played game on steam. This is the least one can do to truly have delved deep enough into this game, to experience all it has to offer, to savor every last drop of this ambrosia. To say it was soul-changing is an insult, and is woefully inadequate in describing the magnificence of what can no longer be described as a mere game. My act of even attempting to use such inaccurate and insufficient terms to convey this unparalleled brilliance is wholly unacceptable and utterly blasphemous. This is easily humanity’s magnum opus.

This game has undoubtedly changed my life for the better.

A few months ago I was struck by the loss of my grandma whom I loved very much. She used take me down to the park near where I lived and watch me play. We always used to get ice cream right after too, our favorite flavor was sweet strawberry. As someone who has dealt with loss in the past I would assume this would be something I could get over easily. I was proved wrong

My mental and physical health was slowly deteriorating as I was mourning the loss of my grandma, my family tried to help me but their efforts where deemed futile. I was lost, no where to run to, nowhere to speak out, so out of desperation, I looked to the one person I could trust. The one that would always be there for me. The one who believes in me…

Hook

Hook

Introduction

Hook is a calm and short puzzle game that was developed by Maciej Targoni , Wojciech Wasiak and published by Rainbow Train. With it’s simplistic art style, and easy to grip mechanics, Hook really is such a insightful puzzle game that most other puzzle games seem to miss.

Gameplay

Hook is one of them insightful and peaceful puzzle games that is relaxing to play and doesn’t frustrate you throughout. This is what a puzzle game is meant to be like, the game itself challenges you in the way of cause and effect which brings you a different level of challenge as you play through the levels. Through the levels you play, you will need to prepare for the unexpected movement that may occur that you hadn’t thought about or planned on that one thing moving. There are 50 levels in total, taking about an hour to and an hour and a half complete them all, I myself felt satisfied within completing each of the puzzles as I progressed through the game. The game does get more complex as you progress, as to be expected in almost every game, but it’s difficulty curve is rather slow and steady.

Hook is a very, very relaxing puzzle game. Minimalist in its design, with only a white background and black lines and buttons for presentation, you’re thrown straight into the puzzle without so much as a tutorial. And that’s okay, you don’t really need a tutorial. Every time a new item is added to the puzzles, you’re given a very simple version to solve that teaches you what the new symbols do. The basic idea is that you will remove the items in order, taking care none will hook or get stuck with another.

Flower

Flower

THE ONE-SENTENCE SUMMARY…

Flower is a charming, artistic, ambient game that is worth picking up during a Steam sale to enjoy (and find your calm) for around five hours.

[➕] THE POSITIVES

  • The ART. A cornerstone of the game is its art style! The game marvelously captures the feeling of gliding through warm, grassy fields and tight canyon corridors on the currents of the wind, and is a cacophony of color as you spread and bloom life into the world. It’s an unequivocally colorful and wonderfully beautiful game!

Flower is a rather unique and relaxing experience! It’s a pretty short game, with 6 levels, each starting you off with a single petal. You essentially control the wind, blowing the petal into other flowers to make them bloom, collecting more petals to fly around the map with. As you make more flowers bloom, you bring more light and colour to the map.

The levels are much more varied than I was first expecting, and the environments, while starting pretty plain, generally turn into beautiful, vibrant scenes once you’ve flown through, making the flowers bloom. Even the credits in Flower are done in a unique and wonderful manner, essentially being an extra level for the player to fly through. From my playthrough, there’s one level that’s not as relaxing, particularly if you’re trying to get the achievements, but it’s still a great experience, and makes the following level extra special! They stunning world is truly complemented by the music and sounds too, greatly adding to the whole experience!

I have played just 11 minutes of this game thus far and I am quite impressed. I like puzzle games and this is certainly a puzzle. For just 79p it is a bargain. Yes, it is repetitive, but so are traditional mazes. If you like to do a maze and want a new challenge then this is the game for you. If you are not into puzzle games then look elsewhere!

Would I recommend the game? No, honestly not. What I’ve been given is more annoying than cool. Luckily, everything that’s irritating is something that the developer can fix in future games. Before I talk about the issues, I wanted to talk about what I liked about the game.

The music is the immediate highlight, it’s really comforting and definitely works in the context of the game. The backgrounds are all really lovely and excellently drawn I’m not sure if these things were made by the developer or not but if they were, great job. Also the story is interesting, even if it’s communication could be way better.

The game is pleasant to the eye. Very smooth graphics. For a game of this genre, graphics are even at their best. A little awkward controls, but this does not interfere with playing. I recommend the game. Very addictive

I really enjoy playing this game when I need to relax. The scenery is beautiful. There is no stress to accomplish goals. If i were to change something about this game, I would make the tokens easier to get. If it’s to be a low stress game, why not just make it super easy to go through all the levels and see more beautiful scenery?

If you are the type of person who will just doodle in empty spaces, I think you will enjoy this game. There are a few things I think could be improved, but nothing that has stopped me from enjoying it.

I really love this game. I think this is maybe one of the only good non VR graffiti games. I like the mechanics and the art style a lot but it still needs a ton of work.

Some things I noticed are

1.there are holes in the spraycan texture so you can see through it in some spots

2.there is no way to jump so you have to get the ladder for small details

3. the color selection is kind of limited and there are no normal variants of neon purple and pink

One more thing I would like to see is some kind of paint roller for painting big backgrounds.

Campfire Cooking

Campfire Cooking

A perfect little puzzle game with a lot of variability and increasing challenge! Took me about 20 hours to 100%. A perfect game for anyone who likes puzzle games even a little bit, or anyone who wants to work on something while listing to a video or podcast.

This is a nice lil indie puzzle game I picked up a while ago and I’m ready to write my review on it. The concept is pretty simple so this review won’t take too much of your time.

The story is a grandfather is taking his grandchildren camping. The kids come up with a way to make camping more interesting by toasting the marshmallows in a very particular way.

Campfire Cooking is a neat puzzle game in which you have to figure out how to toast both sides of a marshmallow on both of its sides. Each stage is in a grid like pattern and will have different hazards and challenges. As you complete each world, you will unlock new play style options. For example, on the first world, you can only move metal sticks left to right, up and down. However, on the second world they introduce wooden sticks in where you can now rotate the sticks and now the puzzles become slightly harder.

Campground owner is very suitable to your needs.

I recommend picking a map with more land then water. You can pick seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall).

In creative mode, you have unlimited cash. I almost always do creative mode. If you want to put anything on the map, I’d recommend that. There is also a survival mode where you have to earn money. You can get that from campers.

If you like to speed up time, press 1(slow), 2 (medium), 3( super fast).

You can’t put different camper’s tent, chairs, grill, or camper together, or it will show the camper’s gear red.

Real player with 6.9 hrs in game

Fun game for some time, I really like being able to place the items of campers down myself in spots that give the most money, and it’s fun trying to get all stars and see money go up.

There are some downsides though, some quality of life improvements that I would like to see.

Once a camper is placed, you cannot see info about them, like with how many they are, how much they’ll pay or for how long they stay. You can see this when they ask to be placed, but still would be nice to keep track of the stay’s duration.

CANNON

CANNON

Don’t waste your dollar. This game has been broken since the last update 8 weeks ago. Even if they do patch it, it is still not worth 1 dollar.

Real player with 3.1 hrs in game

After the awesome “destroy” series, this one is just boring… ‘Only’ 10 levels in, so things may change, but currently, I am pretty much disappointed. Cannons just refill, so you can’t do anything wrong. Only being able to fire a single cannon at a time, when several paths are clear just makes it feel slow an tedious.

I don’t really want to turn people off of this game, so I won’t make the review a negative one, (Valve please add some sort of neutral option please!) just be aware that this is (imho) not a puzzler, you can ‘solve’ the levels by brute-force clicking…
