Wavy Trip

Wavy Trip

Wavy Trip is a Unity Asset flip, what Valve calls a “fake game”. The “developer”, beans rolls, took the Wavy Trip Unity Store tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, SgLib, didn’t even bother changing the name, packaged it and dumped the result onto Steam. They’re attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else’s work.

It’s one thing for a developer to buy a bunch of assets and at least smash them together onto a map and try to make them all work together. At least there is some small amount of effort put into such a game, even if the end result is trash.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSgDaZ1aRxQ&t=4s

It’s another thing completely for a lazy and incompetent person (we won’t call this a developer) to just buy an asset kit template directly from the Unity Asset Store, not even bother to change the name of it, and just hit export “as is” without doing a single thing to it, and upload it here to Steam.

Would I recommend this game? Yes! But to be honest, there are just about as many cons as there are pros, but first I will go to why I love this game so much -

Pros:

What can I say? I love each new thing added into the game. Every time the dev adds anything in, it seems to liven up my map even more. Things like smoke, water, and flags in the cities will move, and add a bit more life to something basic.

You can view your map in multiple ways, from grids to old time maps to elevation levels.

Golf On Mars

Golf On Mars

If you’re familiar with Desert Golfing - this is that, but better. Cheap, simple, relaxing fun, at least until you get stuck in a hole with no escape. Luckily, unlike Desert Golfing, you’re able to skip a hole after 25 strokes. You also have more smooth courses, the able to put backspin on the ball, and to easily reset the game. One thing I hope to see changed, perhaps, are the achievements for the game - currently only four, each for completing a certain amount of holes: one hundred, one thousand, ten thousand, and one billion. It could definitely use some “get 1 hole in one” “get 5 holes in one” etc achievements, but my main gripe is that one billion, while funny, is simply not possible during the course of normal play. Anyway, pretty minor stuff. Would heartily recommend this for a relaxing time putting a ball over the dunes of Mars.

Defense of the Oasis

Defense of the Oasis

I picked this up after being mentioned on Crate and Crowbar as a puzzle game with very short rounds appealed. It fits that comforting spot very well. I can play a few rounds while other stuff is happening around me in the house. As an older game it’s also at the right price. I have never been a graphics obsessive, but to me these graphics have an old-school style, but work fine on my 1yr old Windows gaming laptop, and I never have trouble working out what a particular tile is. The game structure is an elegant idea with not too many pieces, where the pieces combine well to create lots of interesting variation.

I bought this game a long time ago - forgot about it, tried to find it again a few times over the years since and it was impossible to find. I was so excited to see it finally on Steam! However after 2 minutes it’s clear that it is just a port of an amazingly old game. Going into full-screen mode immediately breaks the game and makes it unplayable with a ton of graphical glitches. I’m glad its available to play though, but be warned that it’s a bit ugly and potentially buggy.

It has been described as ‘Civ meets Minesweeper’ and if that sounds like something you’re into I recommend it.

Desktop Tree

Desktop Tree

I really enjoy having my little tree growing on my desktop while I’m doing other things. It reminds me of the desktop games I used to have to fill time while waiting for something or just to have a little fun distraction in between working on something.

The only 2 small things that would make it even better for me would be if you could lock the tree in place, I keep moving it when I drop bugs on it. And the possibility of making the load animation when it updates invisible, because it does keep pulling my eye to the corner where I keep my tree.

Energy Hunter Boy

Energy Hunter Boy

Energy Hunter Boy is an action/shooter game with procedural levels generation, great storytelling, VOXEL TERRAIN MODELING and resources extraction. The little robot warrior will fight against the mad machines, and the awesome natural worlds of the game will be full of platforms, pitfalls and mechanical elements.

Story

_It is the year 2100, and a dangerous criminal has infected through a virus the military computer systems around the world.

This virus was created to sabotage military systems and to launch nuclear warheads to the world’s major cities, then humanity is in danger!

To resolve this crisis, it was created an anti-virus, Energy Hunter Boy, which has the task of identifying and disabling infected groups of memory of various military systems.

The small robot anti-virus will be able to save the world?_

Best features

Procedural levels

All levels are procedurally generated, therefore missions and dynamics will always be different and unpredictable.!

Awesome scenarios

Cartoon style graphics with natural elements mixed with mechanical components.

Objects collection and transport

It will be possible to collect the ‘health’ items and put them in the backpack of our hero, and then transport them to the extraction point.

Multiple campaigns

The game is divided into three main campaigns in addition to an endless unlockable campaign.

Each campaign represents a type of system to be deactivated!

Great and full storytelling

The complete story of the game is divided into chapters and fragments, and it will be completely told during the main campaigns!

More fantastic features

  • procedural voxel terrains

  • terrain modeling, voxel creation and destruction

  • procedural vegetation

  • procedural trees

  • procedural fluids (water and toxic fluids)

  • enclosures for generators to improve gameplay

  • optimized gameplay with selective deactivations

  • resources extraction (Vigor points from vegetation!)

Voxel worlds

The scenarios are generated with voxel technology, and even the vegetation, trees and plants are always generated randomly.

By this way the scenarios will always be different, fascinating and modifiable at will.

In fact by gathering energy you can activate the ‘terrain tool’ that allows you to dig or build the land at will, to achieve the objectives of the missions.

Furthermore, by digging the ground, it is possible to obtain resources from the vegetation (Vigor points)!

There are also procedural sources of fluids that can also be toxic and lethal!

Enjoy the journey, the exploration and the fighting!

Gameplay

The aim of the game is to collect and extract the the number of health objects required to pass the level.

To do this you must go in ‘deactivation mode’ to deactivate the selected power generator, then the ‘health’ items will be created. You have to collect and bring home these items.

To enter in ‘deactivation mode’ and to deform the ground you need ENERGY. This energy can be earned by collecting the many bonuses that appear every time you kill an enemy!

The energy decreases every second.

You have to take also the VIGOR objects to increase AMMO and AUTONOMY of the little robot.

Energy!

Energy is fundamental in this game.

Through the energy it is possible to deactivate the power generators to overcome the levels, it is possible to use the ‘terrain tool’ to deform the ground at will and reach all the places of the scenario, it is possible to dig and destroy the vegetation to collect the ‘Vigor’ necessary for our little robot!

In other words, you will be a true ENERGY HUNTER!

You will have to destroy as many enemies as possible to collect energy bonuses.
