If you have played Dropmix, it is very much like that, but on steroids.

2/19/2021 Edit: This review has been redone to currently reflect the game post 1.3 patch update.

Personally, I love this game, the hours played represents that, and personally, I grew up with Harmonix and their music games so t heir marketing is nothing new to me. Each DLC song is 1.99/USD and is purchased separately, which while is a shame there are no packs available, it does allow you to pick and choose which songs you wish to use in the game. The initial set is enough to get you going and through several hours on their own. The mixing itself is very intuitive for a game and I daresay you can entertain a small party or gathering by playing this game. I’ve done twitch streams that were several hours long just jamming to the games Freestyle mode with a custom crate I assembled with different songs, instruments, and sound effects/modifiers. The game comes with 4 main modes, Campaign, Freestyle (and Coop Freestyle where people play together and if the lobby is big enough, a small audience that can make requests of songs or instruments or genres), Battle, and Social Events. The game comes with an integrated mix capture option where you can record up to 128 bars and export it as a video format to share on social media, YT, Twitch, etc.

Jam Studio VR

Jam Studio is truly an outstanding game. And I definitely recommend it to anyone that has a love for music. I play multiple VR games on a daily basis, and I got the privilege to beta test this game and see it improve tremendously over time. There is nothing better than kicking back after a long day and making songs and beats to all the different varieties of music this game offers. The instruments are awesome and look great. I usually play mainly action games but there’s something different about this game that gets you hooked and want to come back. To top it off they have a minigame that allows you to play while listening to the song/beat that you created. The developers really outdid themselves with all the different features this game brings to the table. As I said before if you have a passion for music then this game is a MUST HAVE. Great work overall by the developing team.

Brilliant - this is all assisted stuff, no musical talent required, but boy does it make you feel like you have some! The VR options are nicely considerate to play space and making the ‘choons is just immensely fun and diverting. We’ve had amazing fun with this, super creative and it’s really great pass-n-play with mates too. I’m off now to buy the Phineas and Ferb DLC for my 10 yr old. Keep up the great start devs!

Let’s Sing 2016

Im a 30 year old guy with a base voice and this program works better then fine for me. Good acually! Im quite impressed with the voice recognition software. You dont expect a guy with a base voice to sing “Let it go” and “Lorde - Pure Heroine” the last one I even managed to pull of in some crazy russian dialect. (im not russian) :)

Microphones: Its important to have a mic that takes in alot of your voice. Ive tested this with some different settings and microphones. A real studio mic plugged into the pc was the worst because the pc didnt couldnt probably give it enugh power to function properly. Best of is a mic made for pc use as they dont requier so much power to run. Also a mic that has some kind of padding on it or is strong enugh to be used as a real mic, because otherwise you will be hearing your every breath like darth vader. :)

It’s never easy to bounce back after you’ve screwed up. I’ve been there. Screwed up as badly as some people can ever screw up and get a second opportunity. Voxler Games screwed up last year with the first Steam release of Let’s Sing. For a long time the game was sitting with a negative user review status. It’s only been in the past few months that some kind souls have raised it to mixed but it still has less than a 50% positive-negative review percentage. So somewhat bravely they returned with the 2016 edition of their music game that remains popular on consoles. It appears that the developer put a lot of effort into listening to their player base over the past twelve months because the new release is a vastly superior product than the original. That’s a great thing for fans of music on a platform that is dying out for quality games in the genre.

Let’s Sing

You won’t learn how to sing with this game. It doesn’t pick up your voice or track what you are saying at all. You can moan, growl, and hum to 4 star each song. You don’t really need to do anything other than that. I don’t know how this game tracks your voice but it doesn’t do a good job at it which is also maddening and frustrating when trying to 100% this game. I don’t recommend this to people because it doesn’t have a great track list of songs to choose from and you can’t add your own songs and get 4 stars in those which would of been nice to have.

It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not great either. Unfortunately with a lot of the songs it’s a second delayed so you have to either sing before the words pop up on the screen or just extend the words to make sure you get the bar filled in time (ie: “have a good timeeeeeee..come on”. This makes it much more difficult for songs you don’t know the words to already, because you’re guessing ahead to a beat/song you have no clue how it goes, therefore automatically getting punished. The pitches also seem to be off with some songs, where the singer clearly goes higher yet the game says it doesn’t. I’ve found I have a difficult time with low-pitched songs, it always says I’m off? Even if it’s a talking bit and I talk with it. Yet if I sing in a high-pitched voice it’s perfectly fine. I am a girl who was always a soprano in choir so it’s not a huge problem, but I’m not sure how well it would work with guys/people with deeper voices so just a warning!

Scale Enchanter

Scale Enchanter

I’ve been trying to play this game and for the most part its very “easy”, which is nice. But the issue lies in the gameplay, as sometimes when I try to insert a note into its proper place on the scale, it ends up appearing in the wrong part, which is extremely annoying. I don’t know if the dev listens to feedback but this should be fixed, and maybe i will think about changing whether I recommend the game or not, depending on if I forget.

Honestly a great puzzler. Seems that the level design likes to punish “going with the flow” blindly, so you need to always stay on your toes. Seems difficult enough that it’s actually not suitable for small children.

The biggest detriment and unfortunately the biggest component of its difficulty is the “floaty” physics: the character’s acceleration from pressing arrow keys is linear; there’s no initial rapid acceleration from stand-still that almost all good games have.

Introduction

We all know & love the man known as Tim Bergling, who Is no one but AVICII himself. Unfortunately, he died too young on 20th April 2018 which left all of his fans heartbroken. Although he is no more, he will still continue to live through his overly popular songs. AVICII Invector is a game made in the memory of AVICII which features a few of his songs. There aren’t a lot of Rhythm-action games out there & this surely stands out since this is purely AVICII music. Not only is it a wonderful game, most of the proceeds that the developer earns from this game go to the Tim Bergling Foundation which supports those with mental health problems, so you are also contributing to a charitable cause!
