Monster Loves You!
General:
Rating: T
Price: $9.99
Genre: Simulation
Time played: 23 hours
A choice based simulation of a Monster’s life. Every decision changes who you are and your skills, and eventually will determine the fate of all Monsters.
Gameplay - 6
There’s not much to this game, you make choices, then advance to the next stage of life and make more choices. All these choices combined form the monster you become and affect the world around you in a myriad of ways.
There’s a lot of choices, too many to get on 1 play through, per stage of life and each has a story of its own to tell. There’s a lot of reading, but the game made me feel like I was playing a “Choose your own Adventure” game. The background changes depending on what stage of life you are on, but there’s not much going on graphically.

There is something special about Monster Loves You!
Simple, but deceptively replayable. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure type of game, starting you as a monsterling that was just born. With multiple stats (initially at zero), your actions will lead to the community respecting you (or not) and increasing statistical values about your personality (bravery, cleverness, etc.).
This is simple but, again, rather adictive. After 6 hours and about 8 (?) playthroughs I’m still getting newer and newer stories as I go along, which adds the replay value of the game (besides the fact that it possesses 14(!!) ending, to my knowledge).

Ritual of the Moon
It’s both calming and cathartic if you’re angry about something.

This game gets my top tier recommendation. You basically ‘play’ for 3 minutes daily, and can only progress the story once a day for 28 days. Even if you do not load the game for a day, the game will advance without you. Gameplay is toddler level logic, but i believe that is by design. It is basically two lines of story, a meditative thought, and a decision to steer the comet away from Earth or let it hit. I am only 5 days in, but I look forward to loading it up for a few minutes everyday. The meditative thoughts are beautiful, making it my go-to before bed game. The art style is somehow awe inspiring and adds greatly to your brief get away into a strange situation.

Fires At Midnight
Set in a “world where making love without being in love makes you spontaneously combust”, Fires At Midnight is an interactive visual novel that tells the story of two people trying to navigate their long-term relationship and regain intimacy. While the game doesn’t give any explanation on what causes people to burn while having intercourse without love apart from it being tagged as a recently emerged virus (“The Love Bug”), it’s safe to state that the whole narrative is centered around Yun and Chitra’s need to reaffirm their feelings toward each other.

I just finished with my 1st playthrough, picked the party and got the 3rd ending.
So far, I love with the story, the characters, and also the soundtracks in the game. Though I felt like some songs kind of ‘disturbing’ me on focusing to the story; with their vocals, and dialogues to read some more. Haih, kacau!
I didn’t expect the
! ghosts and horror elements in Chitra’s perspective, which is great! Some kind of good twist. Kudos!
Since this game is made by Malaysian publisher, I’m so proud of it.

The Majesty of Colors Remastered
The Majesty of Colors was one of the first ‘art games’ I played; it was released in 2008 when pixel art flash games were having A Moment (Jason Rohrer’s Passage was late 2007; Daniel Benmergui’s I wish I were the Moon was mid 2008) and it was my favorite of the bunch; I even fit it into the independent study project on narrative in video games that served as the foundation for my book. It sees you play a long-slumbering undersea tentacled horror, who wakes to discover the wonders of the human world. You can make a series of choices about whether to help or hurt the humans as they swim, fish, and even try to evade sharks.

In one word, (I Fell in Love With) The Majesty of Colors Remastered is “memorable”.
Foreword
The Majesty of Colors Remastered is a remake of the original 2008 game The Majesty of Colors. I recommend checking that out first as it is available for free on Kongregate and other websites. For the most part, my review serves for both.

她2 : 我还想再见到你 Her2 : I Want To See You Again
Just a short backgrounds story: I am a huge fan of Princess Maker series and I can spend hours in raising sims in general. To be honest, I cannot quite explain why I have not tried Her2 earlier as I received a copy of this game for reviewing months ago. Yesterday, finally, I got down to playing it, and I should say I was not disappointed. Well, except for the translation part, of course, but I will talk about in in great details in the main part of the review.
I usually begin my reviews describing the plot, but this time I will skip this part mostly because the story is quite short and it would be more interesting for you to read it on your own. So instead, I will introduce you to the bad parts first as they can be a major disadvantage for some people and then move on to what I liked about Her2.

NEW SCUFFED EPIC VISUAL NOVEL
This game saved my life.
I am 69.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiralling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand… my working hand… my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

As someone who recently got addicted to visual novels, all I can say is… This is one hell of a fever dream.
The music was better than the game.

ANIME MATCH
As the world record holder of this game’s speedrun I must say it has some interesting mechanics, I know the dev, (not personally ofc) and I was immediately hooked to it, I knew it was my game.
It has waifus, 3d, good soundtrack, easy controls, more waifus, cards and speedrun capabilities.
After some harsh hours of bad rng (about 3 tries) and some problems with the software i was able to get a 25.59s (any%) but as every speedrun is, it can always go lower, so feel free to try and beat it.
I think I’m going to retire from speedrunning now since it’s taken a toll on me,

This game doesn’t lie, you match anime cards. Decent art and music and I believe I counted 3 endings. Gameplay is simple and easy to 100%. It’s overall nothing amazing but also not anything terrible. $2 full price ain’t bad but I’d more say to pick it up on sale and click away.
