Parkitect

Parkitect

Let me begin with, I was one of the individuals who contributed to the Kickstarter to help this game become a reality. Heck, I remember when Sebastian was showing off his concept work using programmer art to demonstrate the systems he was working on. Then Garret hopped on the train and the game REALLY took off. I would liken this game to a beautiful fusion of the original Theme Park by Bullfrog and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. I will explain the how and why later on in my review. This game as a whole is a massive labor of love by everyone involved and it truly shines because of this.

Buckle up; it’s a lot of words!

I initially “reviewed” Parkitect back in 2016, while the game was still in it’s alpha state of development. Not a full-fledged review, more a preview. It would be unfair to judge something that isn’t done. Yet, back then, I felt the urge to write about this wonderful game (as will be clear when you read it below).

The alpha version in 2016, it was already really good. But it has always been good. The thing is, now, it has consistently gotten better - and better. Every month, somehow, the updates are exciting and interesting. Sometimes grand, sometimes small but helpful. Always stepping up from the excellent work that has been done before.

Beware! The steam version of this game is VERY glitchy! Crashed first attempt to load, finally loaded, screens go black between menus, screens resize between levels, pausing causes jerky framerate to the point of becoming unplayable, etc. I like these kind of games, and the levels I did get to play arefun, but this just doesn’t work smoothly at all.

This is quite a fun game, it had replay value since there is different customers flow, challenge and popular ingredient every day. This game make you think and try to manage more efficiently. There is small problems such as the replay button doesn’t work and some daily challenge is impossible to accomplish. Other than that this is still a interesting fun game and I do wish it had a sequel.

OKay, listen here. I’m a big fan of the franchise and played almost every installment of these, the Hercules games and similar.

But i can not recommend to get this, especially at full price.

The puzzle pieces (and therefore bonus levels) are tied to getting 3 stars on every level.

While I get it that this was probably not intentional, it sadly only makes this game enjoyable for the try hards, not the casual gamers to which I count myself.

The level design looks a bit more fresh and cute with the cat and some new elements to work, build or fight.

Puzzle games can be pretty hit or miss for me, so of course I have lots of them partially played in my library. This was one of the most fun puzzle games I’ve ever played; It’s super chill with great vibes and an interesting backstory! It took 6 hours for me to get through the casual mode, and I spent most of them at my computer with snacks and tea, cause it’s impossible not to feel cozy playing it. Especially with the music! So good.

Since it’s an indie game and I couldn’t google it, I will say: in the tutorial part at the start of the game, I bought a piece of equipment in the “office”, and when I went to make the next potion, it prompted me to buy that same piece of equipment, but the store was “sold out” and I couldn’t close the prompt or continue. It was early on anyway, so I just started over, but don’t do that :P

Challenging potion-brewing puzzle game with intriguing characters, plenty of mysterious backstories, and all the ingredients and tools you need to either save your shop or blow yourself up trying. Potions get increasingly complex as the game goes on and so do the decisions about which potions to brew and for who!

What a amazing game! I wasn’t expecting so much quality in it. I started to play unpretentiously and while playing I realized how wonderful this game is as much as in gameplay and 2D graphics. Each level requires more attention and prowess because they eventually get harder than the previous ones, with new features, new tasks and new items. Every run of this game makes you wanting to get the best of the level, which are 3-stars and that only will be possible whether you start thinking faster, memorizing the timing and the orders of when each task needs to be done.

Car Mechanic Manager

Car Mechanic Manager

This is a great example of a terrible game and what not to do when making a game. I can scarcely call it a game, as there is no way to lose, be punished for doing poorly, or really any negative effect. This is an overpriced flash game.

First things first, you play as either a very feminine man or a woman with A cups who wants to start their own garage (The artwork is very confusing in this regard and changes often). You start out with only being able to change tires and work your way up from there. At a glance this game looks like a Diner Dash or some other time management game where Customer A wants X,Y,Z and Customer B wants W,V,X and it’s up to you to get everything done in a timely manner. In reality you choose the client, you choose the order everything is done, you choose when to be done with the job.

Very fun casual game. NO stress involved or skill needed, but that’s what I was looking for. I only paid like 51 cents so it was well worth it. Don’t know if I would have been as happy if I had paid the full price, even though it is not an expensive game. Nothing fabulous but I enjoyed it. Defintely wait for the sale. I played it while doing something else. Great background game.

Claire’s Cruisin' Cafe

Claire’s Cruisin' Cafe

I was hesitant at first because it give me a Delicious Emily clone type vibe. However after playing it, it does had its own charm. The graphics is really pretty, I love it very much. Gameplay is good, I like the two person serving together feature, it still need some work but good still. However, there is some part that I feel like too bland, the cutscene at every level, the story is still decent but the way it present is boring, it just give speech bubble to tell the story without animation, it feel boring after few level. Most of challenge is repetitive and not challenging enough. Overall I still like the game, it’s a beautiful game. I looking forward to the sequel with more improvement.

Claire’s Cruisin' Cafe is a casual time management game with a cooking theme. You take orders from your customers, use different machines to prepare the dishes, serve them and bill them after they’re done eating. It’s not a revolutionary idea, it’s actually been done many times before and also in several other variants (fashion design, hospital care, veterinary ward, murder investigation etc), but it’s the kind of game that I would prioritize playing above almost any other.

In terms of genre / game design, GameHouse titles most likely come to mind first, since they are the most popular on Steam among players who enjoy this kind of games. The present review aims to draw a comparison between Alawar Entertainment ’s Claire’s Cruisin' Cafe and GameHouse’s Delicious series.
