Inertia

Inertia

I’m enjoying this game! Like some other reviewers, I found the controls slightly off at first, but then I figured out what I was doing wrong. Accordingly, I want to offer a few simple tips that should be helpful for new and inexperienced players:

-Sprinting vs walking: In the Options menu, under “Input,” make sure “Use sprint input” is checked. This gives you much more control over your momentum, as you can either walk or hold SHIFT to sprint. If that option is not checked, I think you are always sprinting. SHIFT/sprint also affects your ability to make movement corrections while in the air.

The best I can say about this game is that it is fine. The movement feels slow and clumsy but honestly not all that bad. The mechanics range from very cool (the black-orange platforms that break) to alright (the wall running, feels cool but VERY glitchy) to just unneeded (zipwires, just unnecessary, taking control away from the player for 5-10 seconds.)

The double jump is weird, where the higher your initial upwards momentum is when using the jump, the higher the DJ will go. Eg double tapping space will send you flying but trying to DJ after running off a ledge will make you go nowhere. Some of the platforms that move up and down have weird physics too, but it makes somewhat more sense there.

A fun game in the ‘grid-based puzzler’ genre (a bit similar to boulderdash/sokoban/supaplex/chip’s challenge). Unlike most of the games in this genre, all the puzzles are on a single screen, but there is still plenty of complexity. Some of the levels are pretty tough, but it never feels unfair.

I like this game because it has a lot of potential for being a really good platformer. The dev is very passionate about his project and really wants to continue, buy the game and have fun!

This game saved my life.

I am 22.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand… my working hand… my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

I bought this as soon as I knew it was out. And my first impression? Puzzle 1: “A Sudoku with only 27 given digits?!” How is this even possible??!?!

Is this the best Sudoku interface ever? Obviously. Any CtC fan will be able to tell you that. Even Simon uses it with Great Aplomb, and he apparently doesn’t even know about any of the shortcut keys.

But the interface is just a side-note. What makes this really special is the puzzles themselves. All handcrafted by Mark (the default puzzles) or, of you use it to play the puzzles from the channel, then by practically all of the best puzzle creators in the world. What they’ve done with this puzzle form in the last few years will literally astonish anyone who only plays the odd puzzle in the newspaper or magazine.

The Chatters Show Free Version is not a game, it’s a software application that’s erroneously been uploaded to Steam as a game. It’s designed as a free/demo that allows Twitch streamers to make quizzes or something.

Regardless, not a game, so I cannot recommend this to gamers.

Bloxitivity

Bloxitivity

Bloxitivity is an interesting game, based on solving puzzles as a small robot. It is presented well on Steam. Bloxitivity is a 3D puzzle game. While it plays well and its controls are intuitive, its graphics are not its selling point. The sound reminds me of games from the early 2000s, with music loops that can get on your nerves quite quickly. The game seems to be put together well.

It is a very simple game, but the inclusion of the Steam Workshop allows for users to share their levels that they created. This extends gameplay beyond what’s already included

Real player with 16.2 hrs in game

While Bloxitivity isn’t the most creative or challanging game, it does work reasonably well. The mechanics are simple, you can move around the stage and jump over blocks, then solve puzzles by pushing and pulling colored blocks onto matching tiles. The main game has 25 levels and seems to be leaning heavily on user-generated levels for replayability.

The issue I have with this game, and the reason I can’t recommend it, is I just didn’t have much fun. This is essentially a sliding block puzzle in third, which makes solving the puzzles more slow and tedious than anything. The music is okay, but the art design is bland and uninspired; flat metallic cubes on floating platforms surrounded by a generic sky box. The player character is just a couple basic shapes crammed together. The story is delivered in static images and a small exposition dump.
