Her Story
My rating: 8+/10
Based on: one thorough 100% investigation
TL;DR: An interactive police procedural movie with purposely outdated mechanics, brilliantly written and well-acted, a slow burn and a time sink that offers an engaging story to be discovered bit by bit, an immersive, nostalgic experience of the times gone by, truly worthy of the awards it’s received.
Pros:
(+) a slow-paced, but enthralling open-ended story as told by Hannah Smith whose husband went missing, served up in a series of interviews with this unreliable narrator conducted by police detectives

Her Story is a little bit of an oddity. It’s a FMV game where the player has access to a police database and needs to find out what happened.
It’s actually rather good. The whole game is limited to an old-style interface where you’re able to type in words and search for records. I’ve seen a few games that try to emulate old OSes and they lack a feeling of being a working interface. Her Story feels like a proper old computer you’re viewing. Though I immediately turned off the glare filter, it has a great old charm to the aesthetics with it on..

Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble!™
Rarely have I felt as compelled to write a review for a game as I have for this one. Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble (DHSGiT) offers a peculiar type of challenge. It’s a game of highs and lows. Whether or not you’ll find it fullfilling seems deeply personal in a way I’ve rarely encountered.
At first glance, DHSGiT appears quirky and charming - undeniably unique. A quick look at promotional material suggests 1920’s teenage rebels taking on their school and town with wit and verve. I was excited to install the game. Who wouldn’t love mouthing off to authority figures and getting into all kinds of period-appropriate debacles?

Can’t even remember why I have this game. Probably from one of those bundles with tons of indie games in them. Obviously, I didn’t expect much here (usually, those cheap indie games turn out to be a complete garbage) and launched the game just to see what did I paid for. But guess what? I’ve got hooked and was unable to stop playing until the very end. I’ve literally stopped playing bigger games and just sat there, playing this. Totally didn’t expect that.
So, what is this game? Well, that’s the funniest part. The thing is… it’s hard to tell. Just because it’s pretty much a unique experience. Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble! is designed after a board game, but it’s way more than that. It has a plot that involves the investigations and multiple endings, it has RPG elements (you can manage your “party” and level up your characters), it has mini-games and even some visual novel parts.

Murder On The Island
This game is reviewed for TentacleBunny's Cozy Cottage who generously offered the steam-key for Murder on the Island that was provided to the Curator
Background
This is the first Visual Novel by the renamed Forever Young Games which previously released Global Soccer Manager simulations under the same name. It is written by Márk Kovács as an experimental foray into this genre and it’s purely a Kinetic visual novel where an holiday island owner interviews the remaining 13 holiday-makers after 1 is discovered murdered on the 1st day of a week’s stay on the Island.

Murder on The Island is pretty much a Detective Kinetic Novel were you try to find the Murderer. Sadly you can only try to solve it by reading the Story. You dont get any Choices or get to decide on who did it in the end. Nevertheless just for the Case and the Infos you get while playing i found it quite interesting. It took me axactly 1 hour and 40 minutes to complete which would have been faster but you have to wait for the text to completely pop up and you cant set it to instantly.
So just the Story is quite good, however there are also a lot of things I didnt like about it. The Art is just average and the Translation has a few Grammer mistakes that are pretty obvious. The Game also feels laggy as it is completely in 30fps and the Menu is very minimal. You also dont get a Skip feature or any of the other feature you normally expect of a VN.

Mystery Hotel - Hidden Object Detective Game
This one is mostly on par with the other games made by Crisp App Studio. It’s a bit on the short side, you definitely want to get all accomplishments completed on every level to get you monies worth. Best to wait for a sale.
It’s a shame you can’t scroll through the high scores and it’d be nice to see more than 3 scores at once.
The English is improving.

Your arrival at the Hotel associated with a mysterious murder and only you can get to the bottom of the truth.
This game is about solving the “Hotel Noir” riddles, so I recommend it to all who loves to collect puzzles, match clues and search differences.
Pretty interesting and detailed locations, animations, music - all of this makes playing experience even more breathtaking!

Hidden Object - Sweet Home
Ok, I am an historian (at least I should be one) and I admit I’m really not accustomed that much to computer programming or game developing, but this game - which has the usual settings window before launching it, in which you can choose to play windowed or full screen, the resolution and the graphics quality - when put in tray or in the ctrl+alt+canc window (ok sorry readers, my PC interfaces are all in Italian or in French and I don’t remember now its name ahah) it’s called “Woman House”.
Quite different from the game title on the Steam store..

How can anyone like this. Ok it’s a game where you search for hidden objects, that’s cool, but why do you have a story that was written by a 9 yo girl it’s so bad. The characters face is so badly photoshoped, just use someone from real life. If I had to rate this game I would give 2/10 just because Iike searching for hidden objects. Also can someone tell the dev what hidden object looks like the game on hard mode AKA the last 5 lvl out of 15 btw, every object you click on is collected and it’s just super boring and I am going to keep it running on background only to get the stupid achievement. Litterally who would spend their time on this game legitly playing it. There is like one million of free online games so why would you spend your 1,59€ on this game. I got it for free so it doesn’t matter to me, but just why would you do this. How would I make it better you might ask: 1. Delete the story 2. Make the objects look like they aren’t photoshoped in it 3. Make more than 15 lvl in which you have 5 different rooms 4. Make it free or for 99 eurocents 5. Make a level selection 6. Add mute audio 7. Don’t add more languages if you don’t even know them just don’t translate them with google thx 8. Add some real objects not like mushrooms in kid’s room I hope your kids don’t have them there 9. Don’t loop one song it becomes annoying as hell just loop 3 or more songs NOTE: If you wanna argue with me about that this game is not bad etc. I allowed comments

Invasion 2: Doomed
This game is the sequel to “Invasion: lost in time”, the main characters are the same but the plot is different and it is always based on the same style as the previous one, it’s a science fiction adventure genre with a futuristic plot, focused on finding objects in various scenarios and interspersed with minigames.
MY IMPRESSION:
Very nice graphics, wonderful sceneries with snowy landscapes where the sky is not blue but violet, beautiful sunsets, and mountain views.
Excellent sliding playability never frustrating and simple, the object-seeking scenes are not classic conventional but pleasant and engaging because they require you to interact with various objects to obtain others, one thing struck me favorably:

If you enjoyed Invasion: Lost in Time, well, this is a direct continuation of the story and of comparable quality. Which, for the most part, is a good thing: more great and original puzzle mini-games and more of the exciting, fast-paced sci-fi story.
However, we also have the same buggy game engine. With the previous game I could not play in 4K. With this one I can only play in 4K, but that means text is often very tiny and also clicking on dialogs does not dismiss them. I could still finish the game and it didn’t bother me too much, but … awkward. Worse, once again there were bugs that forced me to quit and return to the game. Again, I could still finish the game.

CyberRebeat -The Fifth Domain of Warfare-
I’m a huge enthusiast for the cyperpunk genre, and a premise this unique at $5 was hard to pass up. I definitely enjoyed my time with CyberRebeat and would recommend it to anyone who find its premise or subject matter interesting, especially if you find it on sale like I did. However, it’s also important to note that, as a VN itself, its production quality is considerably underwhelming (though it thankfully did not deter my enjoyment as much as it may others).
Let’s start with the good though: The story is lengthy and very engaging. I found myself hooked from beginning to end and wanting more after the credits rolled. The characters and their designs are also a plus: I felt the characters were very well-rounded, not pulling too much (or too little) from their personality traits or backstories to leave a lasting impression on the reader. Background art doesn’t wow much but gets the job done and, similarly, the BGM is also enjoyable despite a relatively short track list (an OST release would be a nice bonus).

The rundown:
Pros:
-
Good character designs
-
Language-switching feature
Cons:
-
Barebones settings menu
-
Lack of keyboard controls
-
Text issues
This visual novel is a rather odd release. On one hand, it is a VN about hackers and the world they live in, a concept rarely touched on in VNs. On the other, it is a freeware title that is still available to download on the developer’s website, although without the English translation. The game may have some good art, but it definitely shows signs of being a freeware title, and not in a good way.

Harthorn
Yes! Another solid example of what I love about indie horror! So Harthorn is a solid game about a security guard that’s sent to investigate a break in at the high school. What was a run of the mill break in turned out to be a disturbance in the force. This game has you solving some super simple puzzles as well as some mild stealth sections. Neither are too aggressive to be frustrating and not simple enough to be pointless. Overall, this game is a solid spoop with a decent enough story.
Pros:
- Graphically, the lighting looks great! Textures are pretty solid minus some trees, but I think I might be the only person who gets nit picky about it. I like my textures okay? The darkness is balanced well to the point where your vision is kind of obscured by the darkness, but not like some horror games where you can only see as far as your nose.

Wow! This game is a lot of fun.
The AI is glitchy(I’ll talk about that in a second) and it’s a little short as it can be completed in just over an hour, but overall a very enjoyable experience.
I loved the idea of being a security guard in a creepy old high school during holiday break. The atmosphere was very unsettling but welcoming at the same time. The story was fleshed out well enough, I kinda feel like there could have been some more meat to it though. Maybe more diaries/articles? Or maybe more urban legends shared by the nice lady in your ear? While eerie, I felt like it could be more unsettling.

This is a fantastic little game, with fun and enjoyable puzzles. Being made by just one person, it’s absolutely worth the money. Would definitely recommend.

Singularity
I certainly liked this experience. It’s a walking simulator thing in the night in a cool particle foreset with pensive ambient music. The music builds up and I like it. I like the particle trees too and all that made out of dots. I just don’t understand the point of it, maybe I should have been thinking more about all the objects I found in the woods.
! Something about AI or the future, hell I don’t know. https://youtu.be/yToVvvWXRBc

Singularity is a free VR experience about Virtual Reality Art piece, exploring the Law of accelerating returns and the development of A.I. It worked on my HTC Vive, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. You walk down a path and collect data object as you find them. Teleport is the VR movement mode and you use gaze to collect the objects. Take around 15 minutes to finish.
Try this short walking experience through the data forest.
