DARK MAGIC

DARK MAGIC

This is a great platformer game, honestly you should get this game for it’s price. Great lore, well thought out platforming, fun combat with interesting enemies, for the most part great sound design, all around great game.

The only issue i have with the game is the sound that plays when you attack is a little harsh, i think it should be a quieter, more subtle sound that doesn’t drown out all other sounds and the music. 8/10 game.

Detective notes. Lighthouse Mystery Solitaire

Quite a good solitaire game, with an intriguing story, good graphics & suitable suspence music. I’d say, it’s on par with Regency Solitaire & definately deserves more players.

It has a short intermediate sequence at the end of every chapter of a hidden objects game. I am not really a fan of hidden objects games or majong, which some of the solitaires also have included, but i find this HO mini game not very hard to master & matching well the atmosphere of a detective story, so still a recommendation. On top, you can just skip it.

As much as I love shooters and RPG sword play etc, sometimes I like to play a chill game and relax. This game does that. I am a fan of solitaire and hidden object games, so I like the idea of bridging the gap between the two and also having an in depth story line. I’ve only played chapter 1, but so far I have not encounter any bugs. The game play seems smooth. My only complaint is I wished the developer would have included puzzles like that are in other hidden object games, but over all I am enjoying the game. So, yes I recommend this game to anyone else that likes the solitaire/HOG genres.

Memory Battle

Memory Battle

Classic and Casual memory game, never get old, it’s fun and improves your memory! Has a nice 2d art. They created a “battle mode” that should be the twist… But tbh, i don’t feel like it have any “real twists”, almost same as classic mode but can take longer, and the board gets a bit easier since it gets divided between shield/sword cards, so you know what you’re looking for more easily.

So far you can play 1v1’s on local and it has remote play steam support, which is awesome, but a direct multiplayer and increased player cap (for classic) would be welcome. Also you can fight AI in three difficult settings (ez,normal, hard).

You’ve played memory before, right? Find the cards that match… Use the pairs as attack and defence in a fight. DLC for different cards. Can be solo, but it’s really better played 2player VS

Vilundia

Vilundia

A nice concept with good possibilities.

Don’t expect a huge breakthrough in card games here, but the concept is nice and fun to play.

It speaks to the imagination with its atypical resources and cards.

There is no combat. Instead you need to be ruler of as much locations as possible on the map by being the one with the most resources on that location.

Getting resources is easy, you just need a bit of luck with getting a card to be able to own a specific resource. Luck is a factor in this game. When you get other types of cards, they can be ways to frustrate the opponent (AI) by deleting his resources, changing his resources, blocking resources you know he will want to have, etc… so these are other ways to become the major resource holder in a location.

Adventure Mosaics: Forest Spirits is a nonogram puzzler that’s on the casual side of things but is still fun to play. $6 might be on the pricier side, but if you can pick it up on sale, try it. 6/10

Gnomes Garden Lost King

Gnomes Garden Lost King

eJaw made an OK job doing this sequel, it is more refreshing than the old ones. Sure the completion script is faulty but it only fails if you use the restart button so it’s not a big deal. Plus the change of developer gives more consistency in the difficulty ladder (duo to some actual game testing), and a face lift, though it leaves me wondering why they had to follow the gnomes theme and not try what eJaw could have brought to the table. Too bad these companies never want to release even the slightest of updates to fix such obvious little bugs like the restart/completions issue. Well worth the 49 cents!

Finished the game (49 levels) with all achievements in 8.5 hours.

The graphics are nice, the story is ok, but due to “improved” level design you may end up stuck after doing half the level because you should have spared some resource (e.g. stone), which is NOT fun. No previous version had such irritation.

Additionally, the game is buggy:

  • sometimes (frequently) it stops detecting fulfilled goals, so you have to go back to the map and replay the level

  • sometimes (not so frequently) it never finishes removing the mound (the hammering just goes on and on - you are stuck - replay the level)

Guardians of Victoria

Guardians of Victoria

Guardians of Victoria is about three characters called Brella, Cutlass, and Firearm who make up the Guardians of Victoria and stop evil.

This is a game where you get to pick to complete each level with one of the three characters and each do a different action. Brella has an umbrella and can boost herself with her umbrella and can glide with it. Cutlass can double jump and can use her sword. Firearm can shoot his gun and can jump long distances. There are five levels in total, but each can be completed with each character. The game is mostly platforming, but there is a level or two that are enemy wave focused.

It’s a shame.

This game has a decent style to it and a lot of assets,

which look okay IMO. However, horrible controls,

technical issues and awful menus make it unplayable.

If you scroll over my avatar, you might see that I’m playing this game right now.

I’m not, it’s stuck, or well - one of the THREE processes, used by title, is stuck in background, even after I quit the game.

When you start the game you will be greeted by something that should represent interactive menu.

However, this menu is so bad that you have to mouse-over things and take a step back, try to figure out
