Detective Bot
Sadly, it keeps crashing all the time. There’s fatal errors all over, and at one point there was a bug that wouldn’t bring up the evidence UI, and then the game autosaved, so the whole save file was useless. Fix the bugs, and then it might be a fun, quirky little puzzle game.
There’s a lot to like, but it needs to work first.

Her Story
My rating: 8+/10
Based on: one thorough 100% investigation
TL;DR: An interactive police procedural movie with purposely outdated mechanics, brilliantly written and well-acted, a slow burn and a time sink that offers an engaging story to be discovered bit by bit, an immersive, nostalgic experience of the times gone by, truly worthy of the awards it’s received.
Pros:
(+) a slow-paced, but enthralling open-ended story as told by Hannah Smith whose husband went missing, served up in a series of interviews with this unreliable narrator conducted by police detectives

Her Story is a little bit of an oddity. It’s a FMV game where the player has access to a police database and needs to find out what happened.
It’s actually rather good. The whole game is limited to an old-style interface where you’re able to type in words and search for records. I’ve seen a few games that try to emulate old OSes and they lack a feeling of being a working interface. Her Story feels like a proper old computer you’re viewing. Though I immediately turned off the glare filter, it has a great old charm to the aesthetics with it on..

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
Exactly how you remembered the game from childhood. Objectively the best Carmen SanDiego installment. Has the most plot and character development. I have experienced a major issue with saving my game though. The game is supposed to automatically save and in my case it just does not work properly. Really hope this can get fixed soon because essentially all progress is lost and it’s super annoying. Worth the $9.99 price if you really want that nostalgia but if you’ve never played before, consider holding off for a discount or look for an indication that the save feature has been repaired.

I played this repeatedly as a kid who owned the CD game and I’m glad I can get a chance to play again now. The characters and banter are just as charming as I remember and the puzzles are fun but simple enough for a child. And the game involves traveling and learning facts about locations all over the world while solving clues so it’s very educational, but not in a boring way. The secret agent/detective aspect of the game remains the focus and it’s well done in my opinion.
The save issue that was reported at release is also fixed. I was hesitant to buy earlier when I heard about it but I tried it out and I can save normally. Just exit the game normally (by clicking the green light on Hawkin’s vest) and there should be no issue. And press Space to skip the intro or outro cutscene.

Alicia Griffith – Lakeside Murder
(Special thanks to some guy who gifted this. Many thanks.)
A point-and-click that…actually works pretty well!
Alicia Griffith - Lakeside Murder was quite a treat to the eyes. It’s a murder mystery story combined with a point-and-click adventure title, a hidden object game, AND with minigames along the way. Though the story may be quite cliche, the visuals and programming are quite well done!
Join Alicia Griffith, an ace detective who hoped to get a little relaxation after already solving a murder mystery. Strangely, her idea of relaxing from a murder mystery…is by solving another murder mystery (that’s commitment!!!). In this game, you’ll basically have a tutorial and 4 acts: The murder scene, a quiet town, a creepy mansion+graveyard, and some ancient ruins. After completing one act, you’ll be unable to go back to a location in a previous act.

I’m surprised this game has so many positive reviews. It’s basically a Hidden Object Game in all ways except that it lacks actual HOG scenes. You’d think this makes it a regular point&click adventure game, but it feels of HOG through and through. Which in and of itself isn’t bad, I don’t dislike HOGs. But almost every single minigame puzzle was either a tile sliding puzzle or one of those lights-out style “get all these parts arranged/moved/toggled in a certain way, but moving/toggling one part moves/toggles one or more others”. These get old REALLY fast.

Another Lost Phone: Laura’s Story
‘‘Our prime purpose in life is to help others and if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them’’ - Dalai Lama
Accidental Queens have followed up A Normal Lost Phone over 6 months later with a similar UI mobile interface but with a different, yet vital, informative theme for the player to uncover clues to solve the recent dilemma.
In this continuation of the Lost Phone theme it is centered around the female protagonist, Laura, who has an active social life & is a lively confident woman who starts a relationship with Ben who she encounters on a night out. Another Lost Phone: Laura’s Story has you acting detective with her phone to uncover the reasons why the phone was ‘lost’.

Another Lost Phone is similar in concept as the developer’s previous game A Normal Lost Phone . This one, however, has a deeper story which I enjoyed more than the previous one. You’ll find a phone belonged to a woman named Laura and learn how her life used to be before this phone was lost. She has many friends who care about her and has a nice job too. But there are things people don’t know until they pry into other people’s life. The story is intriguing, some people may relate to her problem as it is very common but no one actually speaks about it.

Elixir of Immortality II: The League of Immortality
My wife and I spent a couple evenings playing the game together. The puzzles are varied and interesting. Many of them are mathematically based and a little more challenging then your typical puzzle fare. The game runs well on a low powered laptop, transitions are smooth, and we experienced no stalls, hangs, or crashes.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the game and would definitely purchase another from this developer. Even though there were no reviews of the game, we took a chance on it and were happy we did.

Fingered
✿ my gameplay experience ✿
✿ first five minutes: was mildly disconcerted at executing people at the fingering of a switch, stubbornly refusing to back down from my strong personal support of the death sentence yet (something like 90% of us singaporeans support it!), questioning the mental states of my witnesses, cursing the deliberately vague artwork, briefly contemplated thronging through the game files to delete the screaming audio files to distance myself on one dimension. even though the visuals and audio are already pretty vanilla in terms of graphic violence, and you know, it’s meant to get you to think. so i soldiered on with the spirit and the glory of arstotzka. slay on!

The issue with a game like this where it relies on randomized pool of clues to find a suspect is that if no effort has been made by the developers, they can sometimes make it extremely vague or visually overlap crucial clues on top of each other. This has been the biggest issue as the player has to get lucky to get a good set of clues. However, they even added a clue system that it’s only right 60% of the time, making this confusing game even more random.
Players are only given four clues which then sometimes could be wrong (purely by chance with no hints to tell whether they are right or wrong). Two hints can often mean the same thing, and sometimes they are exclusive to the character giving the clue, forcing you to play this repetitive game over and over by trial and error to understand what they mean. On top of that, as clues are extremely vague and mostly unhelpful (e.g. bald guy having hair, people with freaky or ugly features being considered normal, “hip” that could mean hippy/poor or hipster etc.).

KeyHero
Keyhero Is A Puzzle Game.
In the game, the Key is your only tool for getting through obstacles.
After your character is blocked by a wall, you can build a bridge with keys. Wherever there’s a Key, you can get through. Accordingly, you lose the ability to move in the Key direction. There are also impassable flames, and portals that help you move over long distances on the map.
The goal of the game is to collect keys in all directions.
There are 50 levels in total.

OLD REVIEW:
So…the moral is….don’t trust lolis with tasers?
关于我被小学女生绑架这件事 or “About the kidnapping of my primary school girl” is a chinese-only anime-based artstyle game that involves the protagonist…identity unknown other than that he’s a teacher (I guess) and a loli that abducts the protagonist in a yandere fashion to ask riddles…
I have absolutely no idea what’s being said in this or what’s going on…so I can’t tell you if it’s any good or not, but it at least looks good. Has a nice background and character design and the music is a mixture of wistfulness and dread. Also, just like in Ambre - a heartbreaking visual novel, pressing ESC takes screenshots, and trying to press your normal screenshot key only makes the game switch from fullscreen to windowed and vice versa.

Mr.Hack Jack: Robot Detective
This is my first detective game and I have to say, I’m not disappointed! Here is my favorite features of the game :
-
Controls are very smooth and intuitive wich favors immersion.
-
I really like the stylized graphics and the universe of the game. They are way more polished than the average of VR game.
-
Dialogues, stories and robots are really funny and storytelling between each mission is really pleasant.
-
The gameplay and interactions are very entertaining.
Hope to see more of that! So definitely a worthy purchase :).

Experienced through the oculus rift.
If you like detective puzzle games/escape rooms with a great environment (50’s noir detective) this game is for you.
I was impressed with the details of the game (puddles with reflection and rain drops), especially coming from an indie studio.
To give you an idea what you can expect, you start off in an office similar to “I Expect you to Die” and then select the mission from there. Once in a mission, you will be tasked with interviewing the officers on scene and completing various tasks by searching for items, using magnifier (similar to detective mode in batman), looking for codes/secrets to tie the investigation to: a motive, victim, suspect and method.
