VR Balloon Flying over Tokyo and Hokkaido

VR Balloon Flying over Tokyo and Hokkaido

BE AWARE! This is not a game!

you can roam around as some kind of flying animal in different maps/scenery but all of them are very small.

I only keep this because of the “japanese style street” scenery.

Bamboo-Forest scenery woudl be nice, BUT there is a dfference in the water-refelction in left and right eye,

so no way to enjoy this.

It could be nice if the dev would invest more effort into beta-testing and bug fixing updates.

GIPHY World VR

GIPHY World VR

It’s a Silly, Fun app! It does mostly work on Rift* also. It’s like posting GIFs on Facebook,

but it’s inside a 3D room in VR! It’s like a crazy sticker collection in zero gravity.

You could possibly use it for an artistic collage.

Suggestions:

1. Make the stamp tool place the GIF exactly where the preview is seen, not at different angle as it is now.

2. A laser beam tool or something else to eliminate far away GIFs would be good.

3. More background options would be great, color select, etc. How about a room tiled with a chosen GIF?

Cairo’s Tale: The Big Egg

Cairo’s Tale: The Big Egg

Essentially, this is a Christmas themed clone of ‘Henry’ the hedgehog 3d video from the Oculus people. Certainly enough good work for a dollar.

! It’s high quality but the creatures seem like dorks. https://youtu.be/MFxIzyM2bIE

Destroy It

Destroy It

“Destroy it” is like a developer test room with only one function: Ragdoll collision. Choose from two houses and a satellite to destroy, click and drag your mannequin, then realize the money spent was a waste. I’d consider this at risk of removal for being some sort of potential asset flip.

Lacking any sort of features or customization, the application opens to a menu with three structures to choose from. Once selected, the said structure spins wildly next to a limp dummy you’re intended to control. No on-screen instructions explain how to do this, but it’s not difficult to discover that the mouse serves to anchor and pull him into the building. There is no environment to speak of, just a large void atop an infinite plane. You can control the camera with WASD keys and rotate with the right mouse button. And that’s about it.

Great game, besides the repetetive music and way to simple gameplay and bugs and only 3 very badly designed levels it was great. 11,5/10

Dream Catchers

Dream Catchers

‘Dream Catchers’ is an interactive animation experience in which you seem to play the role of a giant mouse. You will be shooting your bow, casting a few magic spells and generally helping the other people in your team on a magical adventure. While there isn’t a whole lot of gameplay here it should make the little ones feel part of the journey which is all in Chinese. The animation looks OK and from what I could make out of the storyline it seems even very young player-friendly. For just £0.79 you get a 20-30 minute adventure provided you have a good look around at each scene. Not a terrible experience at all, but I do wish it was free (and in English).

Frame Game

Frame Game

So in case anyone was confused as to what kinda game this is, it’s like telephone, but with animation; first, everyone draws the first frame for their animation based on a prompt, and so eveeryone else has to try animating based on that frame, and than the next frame, etc (though if you don’t have any friends to play with, there’s also a free play mode where you can just animate based on a random prompt by yourself).

While I haven’t really been able to play with anyone yet, the freeplay mode was really fun on it’s own. Would recomend.

Let’s Create! Pottery VR

I love to be able to play and create just for the pleasure of it. I have had this app on my phone and tablet for years and still come back for low key, relaxing fun.

More than worth what I’ve paid for it, and I would pay for the option of a more involved game.

My only problem is that you can’t opt out of a commission. I’ve gotten to a request that doesn’t seem possible, and I’m tired of looking at it while I create

This game is exactly the vr experience I’ve hoped for. Chill, creative, and just a little challenging. I’m already looking forward to an absurd amount of hours on this.

I’d love if there was a way to turn off music without turning off all sound, but it’s not a huge issue so far.

Very useful app for development, creation, ideation and creative expression. Finally feel like I found the app that works with my brain to explain my thoughts and ideas quickly and more effectively than paper.

Great user tools like snaping, precise movement, copy and paste. The basics are great but it also has SUCH a good UI that it makes the user experience very pleasing.

One of the few VR creative apps that has a save button too. Which is reassuring because while it’s a great app there are some crashes that occur but the app recovery and saving means you won’t lose much work if you are diligent like in any other project based software you use.

This is my go to first port of call for spatial design as a full time VR Designer, when I am working out the fundamentals.

It will spark new ideas, make you test your asssumptions in situ and I can’t imagine life without it anymore. Being able to grab stuff from poly lets you work up a high fidelity version of what you’re making right off the bat in most cases, avoiding the need to really model much from scratch.

The Major downside, the one that will prevent widespread industry adoption until it’s fixed is that you can’t really export stuff reliably. I can’t think of a situation where I won’t be using a mixture of elements from Poly and things I’ve made myself, and you can only export the models right now as the Google poly colors don’t export. This doesn’t make it very good for getting buy in on your ideas or giving somebody a flavor of the end result by delivering a worked up concept. you obviously also can’t communicate much of your visual design without color either.
