Billion Beat

Billion Beat

I love this game, the world is always in need of more Punch-Out-likes and this scratches every itch it has, and the music is insanely good.

Only thing that could drive people away is how gross the characters look but they grow on you after a while.

The combat is a lot more ‘groovy’ than Punch-Out, more rhythmesque, if you will. Feels more like dancing than it does straight up beating the shit out of someone.

Billion Beat is great. The visuals and music are on point. The gameplay follows the Punch-Out formula perfectly: time your punches and dodge or counter theirs. If you make a mistake, your character will take a bit to recover and that is more than enough time for your opponent to mess you up, so learn from coach Baby T and DON’T JUST MASH THE BUTTONS!

There’s also a bunch of stuff to keep things fresh like “hype moves”, items and even progression. Successfully landing a regular punch rewards you with a bit of energy and you need that energy to dish out the heavy punishment, so you quickly start to get into this flow of dodging and countering to build up your energy until you can finally let your hands fly.

Street karate 3

A very interesting Walking game with an equally interesting soundtrack. The game is similar to games from consoles from the 2000s. But this is only a plus-the game causes a lot of nostalgia. Despite the genre of “indie”, this game can kill several of your hours.

We will play as a karate player who will have to fight a large number of opponents exceeding his strength, but we will have at our disposal additional weapons, such as rebar or knives. In addition to the usual throws, jumps, grabs, our hero has a combo punch with which you can scatter opponents in a circle.

The game will please the drawn graphics and cool soundtrack.

Watch Tower

Watch Tower

“Casual arcade with clicker elements! Defend the Kingdom from invasion!”

Well, this 5€/$ game starts with too much enthusiasm maybe.. let’s see =P

Starting from the very first screens, it’s clear that this is a mobile phone game. Cheesy and colorful graphics, little to no text (no settings basically), few things to click or, well, to touch..

And just a few upgrades and boosts: double arrows, poison and freeze arrows; more soldiers, our wall stronger and little else.

The game offers no tutorial at all, even if it’s quite simple - you’ll play as some soldiers in a watch tower on the left side of the screen with the enemies coming in waves from the right side.

Opinion:

Another game I bought during the sales, and the first thing I want to make sure is that it’s not worth your money! I was hoping for this to be one of those old-school tower defense games, but it’s not.

This game has 30 levels, which all look the same.

It’s a very active game, where you need to spam your mouse buttons all the time. The defending of your tower/castle only happens by you, spamming those buttons. There are a couple of things you can upgrade, but they actually don’t help you that much. Unfortunatly this game lacks variation, which makes you want to quit it after probably 5-10 levels.

Shing!

Shing!

Shing! is a mixed bag, and difficult to place a final rating on. It’s very much a borderline case.

Good: The story and characters, while simple, are done exceptionally well. There are just enough setting details to leave you craving more. Music and dialogue are also nice. The jokes are on point. You will come to care about these silly little characters. The game has tons of charm.

Bad: The game has difficulty issues. Easy feels like it should have been Medium. Some of the optional challenges are so unreasonably difficult that I’m not convinced they’re even possible on the high difficulties. There are also a couple of places where the game fails to provide sufficient guidance (the block puzzle, for example, offers no hints).

Don’t let this comeback be for nothing

You see that? I’m using formatting here. That’s how hard I’m trying. Just get the game. It’s on a huge sale now. You’ve bought worse games for more money.

Shing! is a singleplayer and local co-op sidescrolling beat em' up with a co-op lean, that has polished and flashy visuals utilizing a stylized aesthetic. It’s a charm and character powerhouse that goes in pretty heavy on the developers' nerdy humourous style. The polish here hits a surprising level for such an indie offering, resulting in a total package that is low on rough edges and high on fun. That is, now. I say now because the tale of Shing! is a tale of two Shings.

Bird Boxing

Bird Boxing

I played this with a friend via remote play and enjoyed it a lot. There are some major bugs at the moment that hampered the play, namely with controller detection. Glitches such as the volume control reverting back to full volume in the middle of a match, sudden death rounds not allowing anyone to take damage, or being able to bring up the main menu during arcade mode and blocking up the screen, these are a few examples.

This game fills a niche that I really like and is cheaply priced. If you do not like unfinished early access games, then you should wait for more development, but I’ve gotten the game to be able to provide more feedback to the developers. I can give this game a modest recommendation for now.

CLASSIC TANKS 2020 is a Game Maker Studio asset/template flip. Gameplay consists of driving a little tank around a 2D top down retro pixel arena and killing the other tank in it and asking what went wrong with your life that you’re playing asset flip garbage.

I can’t begin to describe just how deplorably low the quality of this junk is. This asset flip has made gaming worse for everyone, even the people (almost everyone) that never played it. The human race is forever diminished by the existence of this rubbish.
