Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond

Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond

Reminiscent of beloved side scroller games like Donkey Kong, Captain Sabertooth is truly a pleasure to play. The cutscenes were beautiful to watch, and some of the backgrounds were gorgeous. I especially loved scenes where you could see the pirate ship in the background, so detailed!

Controls were smooth and easy to navigate, the character actually had weight to it, making it easy to navigate jumps and tricky areas.

I especially enjoyed some of the functions like the map, where if I got lost I could steer my way back, and find where quests were.

got it for my nephew who'#s coming to stay soon. Last time he was here he enjoyed watching me play crash bandicoot but it was a bit much for him. Naturally gave it a whirl. Nice graphic flow and a it doesnt punish failure which is good for a tounger game. Cool thing to explore may have to “help” him as an excuse to have more time on it. Quality

I know it’s less than a dollar, but this is an unfinished alpha that should be in Early Access or—since it’s been unfinished for 3 years now—delisted from the Steam Store.

There’s a lot of ambition and work here—far better than I could currently do on my own—but it’s tough to get though. I’m a huge pirate fan, so I’m constantly searching for good pirate games. This unfortunately isn’t one of them. Sadly, it could have been, if finished and polished.

Initially, I managed to play the first level of this game, and that was as far as I got before I received the message, “Unfortunately, this is how far you’ll get for now.. However, you are now a part of something that we believe in and we won’t stop until this game has reached it’s full potential. We are going to release a new chapter every Sunday”. I waited for a few weeks and went back to the game. I was able to get a tiny bit further on the next attempt but ran into another roadblock. I’ve done every quest, walked around every square foot of the game area, and I can’t find anyway to continue on. I was wiling to forgive the poor controls and bad user interface, but it’s extremely frustrating that the game is unfinished. Do not waste your time with this game. It has promise but not in it’s current state.

Curse of the Sea Rats

Curse of the Sea Rats

Curse of the Sea Rats is a ratoidvania platform adventure lovingly crafted with hand-drawn animations, which charts the epic journey of four prisoners of the British empire, turned into rats by a pirate witch. To regain their human bodies, they will have to fight dangerous bosses, explore the vast coast of Ireland, and ultimately capture the witch who cursed them.

Beautiful 2D, hand-drawn animation breath life into the game’s characters - inspired by the likes of Disney and Don Bluth and reminiscent of the golden age of 2D platforming action. These combine seamlessly with detailed 3D environments and enhanced by light and shadow to create a 2.5D platforming experience of incredible quality.

Chart your own progress through a huge, non-linear game world as you attempt to track down the pirate witch who cursed you. Shipwrecked on the coast of Ireland in the 18th Century, you’ll need more than just your swashbuckling skills to forge your path to freedom.

Whether you play alone or with up to three friends, there are four playable characters to chose from - Douglas, Buffalo, Akane, and Bussa. Each bringing their own unique fighting styles to the adventure to help you get the better of both enemies and the environment!

While each character has their own strengths and weaknesses, you’ll be able to improve their abilities as your adventure progresses - unlocking new special skills, boosting your offence and defence, or unlocking powerful magics!

A labyrinthine network of hundreds of pathways, rooms and discoveries lay before you, in a substantial quest of over 12 hours. Can your master each character’s abilities, find all of the game secrets and unlock all the multiple endings?

Many thanks to everyone who has supported us so far. We look forward to updating you on our development progress. In the meantime we would welcome any feedback in the community - and don’t forget to Wishlist if you’d like to be kept up to date on any upcoming news!

Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town

Willy Morgan and the curse of Bone town is an interesting take on the Point and Click/Adventure game genre, based around a fantasy pirate-world theme, with generic point and click gameplay.

The story starts at Willy Morgan’s house; it’s been 10 years since Willy’s father, the famous archeologist, Henry Morgan, disappeared.

Fans of the film The Goonies will probably fondly recall the classic Lucas Arts point and click games of Monkey Island, and it is in that vein which Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town plays out, with red herrings, puzzles and a dose of humour to top it off ensuring Willy Morgan CBT makes a truly resplendent brew!

Good game, sailing and battle very similar to the old Sid Meier "pirates!". Other than full controller support, there's no reason to play this if you have pirates! I'm also not going to harp on things that are commonly addressed in other reviews (i.e. lack of camera rotate).

No ship boarding, only sinking. Also, aiming is bad - the old game(s) had a larger margin of error - in this game your aim needs to be perfect. Game would benefit from some lines to help aim cannons and abilities (example, voodoo boom).

Amazing. Was a big fan of this game when it just came out back in the 90s. Despite the absolutely horrible (by modern standards) graphics, the gameplay is great. REALLY needs a companion instructional guide though, on how to play :)

There is a Russian guide on the web (original game is by a Russian studio), which is fine for me, but I coudn't find an English one. Maybe I will write one.

In my view, this is the best naval battle game ever made. If you liked "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" and want more ships, trading & more details to the naval battles, then this game is for you.

## The Curse of Monkey Island

My favorite game of all time, hands down. I play it every year or so since I first played it, probably in 2000 where I bought it at a store that sold used video games that came in CD cases (this was a 2-CD game). There is one significant problem with this game: I've been searching for its equal ever since, and I've never found it. The gentle mix of humor, of lightheartedness, challenging puzzles, voice acting by Dominic Armato, the beautiful graphics and amazing musical score… Nothing comes close. I don't think that the folks who created this knew what they were making at the time, it was just another game from LucasArts. Bill Tiller did the graphics, and there is something so soothing about the visuals. I think most importantly is the intelligence of the puzzles, where each item you get will be put to use in some creative form later on in the game in a way that makes you think about what you're doing and what is possible, but doesn't go too far in difficulty nor is it too easy, either. The fact that all of this came together in one game is truly remarkable feat.

I never got the chance to play one Monkey Island game until now, and this is actually my first eventhough it's the third xD. I'm clearly missing a lot of references to the first and second game, there are some characters that I can tell is not the first time "we" met so I'm clueless to most of the funny bits regarding these ones.

The humor is the best part of the game, at least to me. I had lots of fun with the dialogs and incredibly horrible dad jokes. Puzzles are sometimes hard to understand, there may be very very very little objects you thought you clicked on but you didn't , maybe you thought you could solve the puzzle certain way because it's the most logical to you but NOT and the solution is one of the silliest you could ever think of. So yeah, puzzles are not exactly unfair but rather… weird? You just gotta get used to the game's logic, that's all.

## Fish Person Shooter

I've been waiting to play this game since the first time I heard about it and I'm so happy to finally be able to!

It speaks to my heart when a game dares not to take itself seriously and, at the same time, still is a good gsme. Fish surely is all that! 3

It feels so good to play an FPS in which the core gameplay involves dodging, after so many years of boring cover shooting. And the level design is cleverly interesting, not shying away to present obscure secrets right when you start (which brings fond memories of Doom 64).

Early Access Review: This is actually a pretty fun game for a retro style game. As others have mentioned the harpoon mechanic is really cool. This game has some interesting puzzles that require a bit of thinking to get thru, but not so difficult that it makes it impossible. You may have to retry the level a couple of times to get thru the "learning curve".

Since it is early access there are some things that the developer is working on. But the good news is that the issues are getting discovered quickly and bug fixes are coming in.
