Montezuma’s Revenge

Montezuma’s Revenge

Great nostalgia product. I played this game on my Apple //+ back in the 80s on a monitor without color. So the green and red keys had the same shade of green back then. I learned to hook the Apple //+ to a color TV, and that changed things!

This version is just like the old product, with some changes:

1. A bat will show up if you linger on a screen too long.

2. Each level has three masks, randomly hidden in the levels, which you can optionally find. These give points / new life.

3. There is new artwork. But I prefer to play with the ‘retro’ setting.

This game takes me back. This was one of my favorites that I had back in the 80’s on the Apple //e on a 5.25 inch floppy disk lol. I used to play this like crazy on a monochrome Apple Monitor III green monitor long before I got the RF color adapter for my system to play on a regular TV or monitor and seeing it then in color. Wow…those were the days. Back then, I was using a joystick to play the game instead of using a keyboard.

The keyboard controls are basic and responsive but takes a little getting used to for some areas of the levels. I haven’t tried the game yet with a controller to see if it would work or not but so far, it’s quite playable and I’d recommend the advanced graphics over the retro look.

EPEJSODION Dodgeball Attack

EPEJSODION Dodgeball Attack

EPEJSODION Dodgeball Attack is a game where you play dodgeball in international leagues.

This game is so terrible, I don’t know where to begin. It looks terrible, sounds atrocious, and it plays horribly. Even though you can look at the controls, in order to actually play the game, you can see some of the instructions in the beginning of the campaign, but that isn’t enough. The hitbox detection is somewhere by the waist of these awkward characters from what I’ve managed to hit, but there seems to be no consistency. I don’t understand the enemy and your teammate being behind your and enemy lines (maybe this is some other variant of dodgeball I haven’t played before), but you have to knock out the enemy team, which I’ve gotten close once or twice, but I’ve given up because I have no desire to continue this game.

Domino House

Domino House

Fantastic experience! The ambiance, art, and music are wonderful, and the puzzle solving is very rewarding. Those ‘epiphany’ moments when you figure out each puzzle are well worth the time invested looking for hints and clues.

What started out as a “spooky” house you want to escape, slowly turned to a charming place with wonderful character and heart, that I was sad to leave in the end; you develop an attachment to Domino House as you learn it’s secrets and examine all the nooks and crannies in the wonderful artwork searching for clues/hints to the puzzles.

Yes, it took almost 5hrs maybe to beat this. But it wasn’t that complicated I just kept getting interrupted. You believe me, right? Think most people can complete it in under 3hrs.

This game is fantastic. Yes, I got it for free, but I already want to play it again. Who wants to play point and clicks again? The art is on point, the music is chill and relaxing, the scares and uncomfortable things in the house are just perfect. There was only one puzzle I got annoyed at because the sequence was so long, but everything was incredibly creative. Things blended into the environment seamlessly, and something I saw as easy I know other people struggled with. It’s perfect.

For a game based in black and white it does try your patience when you are sleepy. I do find that i am stepping away just to retrace my steps. Simple characters that don’t change as the game advances nor have new ones added. This really makes you think and think again. Better scores when I first wake then late at nite.
