Terrorarium
After just over a whole month of developing levels for the Murder Garden Contest, it’s time for my review of Terrorarium.
TLDR:
Terrorarium is a fun and creative game with an interesting concept and encourages community participation. The developers are always active in the Terrorarium Discord server and always take suggestions by listening to their fans (Which is rare these days). Plus, You can make awesome levels for your friends and others to play and murder them with ferocious plants! What’s not to like? Since its in early access, it’s likely to be cheaper now than when it releases, so pick it up and try it!

7/28/20 UPDATE: The game is out now with new levels and new features, so here is my current day review!
The game can be broken down in to three major parts: The main story, the community made levels, and the level maker.
★ The Main Story plot itself is fine. You get to understand the character you play as and the the little pikmin-esque creatures you play with, etc., etc… It certainly adds to the game, but what really matters (in my opinion) are the levels themselves. There are 26 levels ranging from very easy to very hard, some of which are designed extremely well! Some of them however aren’t. I’d say around 85% of the levels are satisfactory, while the other 15% just aren’t either aesthetically pleasing or the puzzle/mechanics are a bit wonky.

Cyanide & Happiness - Freakpocalypse (Episode 1)
The game gives a few laughs and so far the story seems to be intriguing, so I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes next. And it’s nice to see some familiar characters from the animated shorts in it.
Some problem I have with this game is how much of it is exploration and how little is a part of the story itself. The game can be completed really quickly if you only focus on the tasks they give you. But there’s a bunch of locations and countless of objects you can interact with in each of them. So vast majority of the game is just clicking everything and listening to your character saying something funny about it, coming up with another pun (I swear this game contains every single pun you could ever come up with), sometimes unlocking a costume piece or giving you some easter egg. I don’t think the balance is right if I have to spend hours examining all the new locations open to me, but when I move on to actually do the tasks to carry on in the game, it turns out it only takes a few minutes and suddenly I’m back to having to explore more locations.

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.
|
You go to the school doctor because you feel ill - and she welcomes you by telling you that they don’t do plastic surgery here. Or whether you’ve come because of your malnutrition or your terrible body odour … well, that’s how you constantly get treated in Cyanide & Happiness - Freakpocalypse. Funded on Kickstarter, it is based on the dark yet humorous Explosm comics. To ensure that the humour and character design of the comics is also reflected in the game, publisher Serenity Forge and developer Skeleton Crew Studios have worked closely with Explosm and I-Mockery. With Cyanide & Happiness - Freakpocalypse, subtitled Hall Pass To Hell, the first of three planned parts has now been released.

Polter Pals
Making friends in the afterlife is a little different.
You play as a lonely ghost with the power to possess the living. Surrounded by Oomans who cannot see you, you must use this power to steer them into comically fatal accidents and an early friendship, freeing the friendly ghosts within them. Each level is a puzzle diorama, styled after classic children’s stop-motion cartoons, where you have to figure out how to make all the friends using the available hazards.
Every Ooman you ghost will add you on LiveBurial, the afterlife’s hottest social media app. The posts of your newly deceased friends give you a unique look at the dysfunctional, hyper-consumerist world of the living through the lens of a social media-obsessed afterlife.
Key Features
-
Possess hapless Ooman friends-to-be and steer them into cartoonishly gruesome friend-making hazards.
-
Puzzle through 60+ levels across 4 thematically distinct areas, including 4 unique bosses that test your mastery over the power of possession.
-
Keep up with your phantom friends via the in-game Live Burial app! Each new friend you make shares their thoughts and feelings about their recent expiration via darkly humorous social media posts.
-
Learn about the world of Polter Pals through the in-game Encyclopeoplia app, a collection of questionably sourced articles on all Oomans, hazards, and bosses encountered in the game.
-
Make friends to a groovy soundtrack by the Mysterious Breakmaster Cylinder.

Dracula: Vampires vs. Zombies
Good bow mechanics, good take on waves with addition of rescues, powerups, enemies and most importantly - just fun to play! Stay for a quick play or stay for a while, it’s all good. The pace is frantic but manageable and satisfying. I’d love more cotent but what is there has replay value. Thumbs up!

Not just another bow and arrow game! Its stupidly addictive and well made, the pace and variety is perfect. Working through the city is well worth the effort to make it to the forrest and instead of feeling like a chore like a lot of other similar games, you cant put the controllers down because you have to have one more go. The voice overs are brilliant, feels like an 80s film that can make fun of itself. Im sure there will be more levels to come, the devs seem to be pretty active and want feedback.

Helheim Hassle
Hello, new hyperfixation! You are just what I needed to get through everything else, my ray of light in this time of darkness!
That might sound overdramatic, but in all seriousness this game is excellent. To be honest I was a bit worried that the world of Manual Samuel might have been ditched, so finding out that this takes place in the same universe was a relief! I’d been pretty attached to MS’s characters back when I was into it, and it would seem that Helheim Hassle is continuing Perfectly Paranormal’s trend of introducing characters you can really feel for!

Honestly, I too would want to escape Valhalla if I was forced to be on an Esports team.
The creators of Manuel Samuel is back with another game! And just with how Manuel Samuel was a unique adventure will humor surrounding Samuel’s unfortunate situation, so is Helheim Hassle. And fun fact, Helheim Hassle and Manuel Samuel takes place in the same universe and even on the same day.
Helheim Hassle brings us to a young teenage Viking named Bjorn Hammerparty who isn’t like his Viking brethren. Unlike everyone else, he is a pacifist. He doesn’t want to go out fighting so he makes sure he doesn’t get into a situation where he has to and he sure doesn’t want to go to Valhalla. However, during a battle that is sure to wipe out his whole village, Bjorn gets into a fatal accident while he was running to his hideout. The sketchy bridge he was crossing may have made him fall straight onto a bear. Once Bjorn comes to, he’s a ghost and his body is limbless. Before moving on, Bjorn attaches his limbs back on his body and talks to Modgunn to be granted passage into Helheim. However, his cowardly fall to his death was counted as him heroically killing a bear without a weapon and is brought into Valhalla by the Allfather.

Howdy, Jacob!
This was a visual trip, it’s kinda like Where’s Waldo but with psychedelics. It has a very interesting approach to storytelling which I like and the music is fun and upbeat. It gave me some nostalgic vibes. I was reminded of the video overlays in one of the Police Quest games for the storytelling and the levels have a sort of wondrous mystique to them that you don’t experience much in games these days. There’s a totally dark vibe to the story without being too scary.
If I had to list one criticism it would be that I struggled to find the exit button during a level, but it all worked out of course. Overall it was worth the $10 for sure.

Disclosure: I was on the video capture and performance team for the game, but did not have anything to do with gameplay, art, or design.
Howdy, Jacob! shines brightest in its rich world and great writing. The characters are interesting and diverse, and curious players are always rewarded with a little bit of content wherever they look. It is a world that feels much, much bigger than the game, and fascinating!
The other high point is the art! The images are very vivid and unique, and the style sticks with you!

Who’s in the Box?
Costing a whopping 3,29€, this small game has lots of tags - black humour, casual, puzzle, 2D.. yet, it has only negative reviews.
They are actually right - the game is a fully guided hidden object one, that can easily be finished within twenty minutes. Five minutes if you follow a Steam guide.
You will play in literally A SINGLE screen, i.e.: a single MS Paint wallpaper throughout the whole game - there’s a big wooden box and lots of items around it. Nothing else, the game hasn’t even got a menu.
– Real player with 156.7 hrs in game
Despite the store tags, Who’s in the Box is not really a hidden object game, but more of a single hidden object scene. The whole gameplay happens inside one location - a room with a box in the middle, surrounded by shelves full of various objects. There is a character hidden inside the box, and he will successively ask you to find certain items, without specifically naming them. Instead, he will attempt to describe them via a funny text, outlining their purposes which ultimately are supposed to lead towards his escape from the box.

Last Hours Of Jack
Very cool game.
The killing of the zombies is very satisfying, and you can kill them with almost anything you see.
The carnage and destruction of the office add to the chaos and fun.
It’s a very entertaining game with a low price tag and a surprinsing amount of cool mechanics.
Totally worth the money

I have to say it “I need that d.i.c.k.h.e.a.d” lololololol fkn funny, this is really good for the sale price, I would highly recommend, my only gripe is the fact you cannot use AWSD for movement keys you have to use the arrow keys, sorry but that is lame on a game these days it’s just too awkward to use, but on the plus side if you have one it works great and best with an Xbox controller sweet!
Can only recommend you buy if you have the Xbox controller, I would not bother if you don’t.

A Pretty Odd Bunny
Note: I received a free copy of this game from the developer with the intention for me to review it.
So, first things first, A Pretty Odd Bunny is hard as nails stealth platformer that despite it’s cute appearance, has some pretty violent aspects to it, making it a poor choice for a younger audience. Do not go into this expecting a kids' game, because your ass will promptly be handed to you by it’s many perils.
I really enjoyed how fresh this game felt. I’ve played a lot of platformers over the years, I would even say it’s one of my favourite genres, but a lot of them can feel very samey or average. A Pretty Odd Bunny keeps the platforming gameplay fresh by adding in some stealth elements. You cannot attack your foes, you will need to find ways to avoid or sneak past them. There are other levels that change things up additionally by chasing you with a overflow of carrots, or making you ride in a minecart.

After completing it, i can safely say it’s a extremely fun game
it’s short, simple, cute, and just fun
it’s visuals and art style combined with it’s mild gore and central theme feels very reminiscent of newgrounds platformer game
There’s not much to say besides that if you’re looking for a simple but addicting fun game or want something cute or want bunnies(although one that eats pigs) then i’d highly recommend it especially for it’s price.
