Swords and Sandals 2 Redux

Swords and Sandals 2 Redux

If a potential buyer is reading this, I recommend reading the conclusion paragraph first.

If this is someone who has purchased and played this game already, I want you to add any more bugs/recommendations to the list in the comments.

Game-Breaking Bugs

-When the AI jumps, it results in them gaining essence (two turns of sleep) while the player loses essence for jumping.

-When using a ranged weapon, the only way to access your inventory for potions is if you get close to the enemy that only allows access to inventory if out of range, which for a bow is anywhere but in close range.

Well okay, first time ill write a long review.

I have played around 20 hours and gotta say it wasnt bad, like the game could be really good IF there wasnt so much buggs like holy sh*t!

I know its hard making games by only yourself, trust me, Im also a solo game developer but you should instead of making 3 or 4 games focus on one or two untill its stable and as good as it can be. Just my thoughts…

Well now Im going to talk about the game.

The story is great and just like s&s2. Some people dont like the graphics but i think its cool. The weapons could been in a better quality doe cause they are kinda blurry and upscaled it feels like. Sad cause the characters and armor quality looks great.

Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion

Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion

All the time I spent on this game was just hunting for achievements, side questing, exploring, and level grinding. But aside from that, the main story of this game is quite short, and it can be completed in about 2-3hrs. All in all, I think its a fun game and if not the first game that AT has with free roam and an open world setting. The turn-based battles are alright, with the game explaining how status debuffs work, elemental advantages, and buffs, it’s pretty easy to understand and master the game with just basic knowledge. You can pretty much destroy any boss you encounter by just playing against their weaknesses (every character has different elemental skills). But, the game’s pretty much over once you get BMO to join you, you’ll see what I mean when you play it. For the price it has right now, I think its worth it IMO, but better to wait for a sale to get it.

This is a casual turn based RPG based on the Adventure Time world including many of the shows famed voice actors. The game plays out like an extended episode or even movie with a pirates theme that gives off a WindWaker vibe with the boat you use to travel from the strange worlds.

The game is poorly optimised for PC with chopy frames and clunky feel and very poor menus, but it does all work and if you can get past the games annoyances your likely to enjoy this immersive world. Theres enough detail to make you feel like you really are in the Adventure Time world as oposed to a game developers intepretation of it.

Saturday Morning RPG

Saturday Morning RPG

I love Saturday Morning RPG. It’s so bad.

Remember the eighties?

Remember sitting in front of your TV on Saturday morning, soaking up the cartoon goodness?

How it was all ridiculously over-the-top and crazy, but somehow, at the end of every half an hour episode, everything worked out?

Well, if you remember those days fondly, you’ll find a lot to love in Saturday Morning RPG.

The trouble is, you’ll also find less fun things there, too.

Memory can be a fickle thing.

So, What Is Saturday Morning RPG?

Real player with 42.4 hrs in game

I find it a shame and astonishing that a game as good as Saturday Morning RPG has not done better commercially. The game has some crazy achievements, such as fighitng 1,000 and even up to 5,000 battles, based on an initial idea of 20 episodes. Since it didn’t do well, they had to limit their ambitions to six episodes, hopefully with a fine tuning of the achievements in the future.

But why is all this necessary? The game has everyone a gamer would be looking for. A series of episodes with a simple story, with tons of nostalgic references for one thing. I mean the main character is a guy named Marty, who rides a hoverboard, and gets his powers from a mysterious man known as The Wizard. The retro graphics are a joy to behold, the music is killer, and the gameplay is a very solid Paper Mario/Super Mario RPG type of thing, with button presses for better defense and better attacks.

NEW REVIEW AS OF 9/1/2018: The game right now is playable. You can now run this game without it crashing every second. overall, this is one of the best games I have on my steam. Now, to the real review. the game is kind of like maybe 7~8 hours if you really rush and try and not max level and do all the side quests. If you do EVERYTHING, and i mean EVERYTHING, 100% the game. You on about 20 hours. The Grind in the game is crazy. if you want to level everyone to max give up about 30 hours of your life. You can buy things to level up with ingame money. (There are mico trans in this game.) If you want to get all people their level 3 wep’s, Yellow orb’s is impossible to find. everything else you can find. but yellow there is only 4 places you can find them. and all of them are near the end of them game when you get the their areas. there are areas in the game where your stuck like you may fall off a high place, and hit the ground, No damage, but you get stuck and have to restart. also i haven’t taken fall damage. i even fell off the top of the hill, the one that the light house sits on. and i lived! not sure if that’s good or bad. (and before you said you had the sticker on, i didn’t, i didn’t have it until after i beat the game.) WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY i really love this game. if you wanna waste your life. buy this game! really good.

Pros:

-The active gameplay keeps the player engaged from start to finish

-The star power function that determines action the player can take is wonderful for stacking on you favorite character of spreading out between the party.

-Relationship is a great team attack function and encourages mixing party formation.

-Pseudo choices (choices that have no affect on story and/or have minor affect on gameplay) were fun, from naming bosses to complimenting your favorite characters.

-Graphic style is pleasant to look at, helps the game age.

Hey everyone,

I definitely recommend this game, due to its replayability, humour, many references and incredible soundtrack.

They have put a lot of love and farts in this game, which makes it all the more likeable.

As stated above, the soundtrack is incredible and true to its form.

Try getting all the achievements and you’ll have some (next to) endless fun :)

Direct sequel to the first game (Literally the next day in game) going from Skyrim/Fantasy to Superheroes!

The fighting in Stick of Truth was cool but lightweight.

Now it’s deeper, richer, and more strategic, with some brilliantly designed battles that require genuine tactical thinking.

With loads of customization’s and improvements

There are buffs, debuffs, elemental magic, and summons, as well as dramatic, superbly animated ultimate attacks.

And a new grid system adds extra complexity, with chain attacks, knockbacks, and powers that force you to think about where characters are positioned on the battlefield.

Interesting mechanics so far. I like the card as a movement and “special attack” resource, and the very cool “Alter Terrain” concept by trashing extra cards at the end of turn.

I’m also into perma-death endless dungeon runs, so I’m not sure what to expect after the initial “forced” campaign with the Rocky Warrors. Hopefully the devs did put in endless journey mode, until our party dies.

Finally, I did stream it on Twitch to make gameplay vids, but saw no Game Category to further publicize the game, so if the game’s title can be added to Twitch, would be great.

Blue Fox

Blue Fox

i used to like this game but since the character redesign its absolutely repulsive to look at

Real player with 1.8 hrs in game

Blue Fox is a 2D top down shooter with cutesy animal art aimed at children. Run around brightly coloured low-fi maps and shoot stuff, collect little flags and so on.

This was slapped together with the godawful Construct 2 game construction kit, which seems to exist purely to make GameMaker Studio look slightly better than the pure garbage it really is. Anyway, using a game construction kit requires no talent and results in games that have little to no quality or merit as properly designed video games. Construct 2 is a terrible engine and likewise results in terrible games.
