THE GAME OF LIFE 2

THE GAME OF LIFE 2

Now, you may be wondering why I have over 100 hours in a game where there’s DLC and a season pass. It’s not about the money, it’s about the gameplay. I don’t have any dlc as it’s just the same gameplay but with different skins.

PROS:

Steal money from friends, bots, or others in online

Have pets (just dogs or cats)

Exploit the economy if you’re lucky enough not to land on tax spaces

You can be single just like real life

When married, it costs nothing and you actually earn money from it

There’s no divorce papers so your partner doesn’t take anything from you

I’ve had this game get stuck three times now right at the end. It counts the money and the pieces just stand there, moving their heads and jumping around. On top of that, all the maps except one are behind a paywall. Had I known I was only gonna get one map with this game, I wouldn’t have gotten it. I figured since it was so based around having new maps, that there would be more than one available to play without paying. Ha. Nope. I bought this during the Steam Summer Sale and it still wasn’t worth the discounted price. What a joke. Greed has gotten the best of this one.

Duck Life: Retro Pack

while its great to relive these games it becomes really annoying to play through the minigames so many times, i feel like not only this interation but the others(up to space) would benifit from some sort of “cheat” page after you beat the game where you could do things like mess with the ducks levels and stats

I think this game is a good collection of the OG trilogy of Duck Life (DuckLife). This game allows people to play the classic three games of the series In true HD. I recently replayed the first three Duck Life flash games (No, not the Unity remakes) for comparison.

Some notable changes I found were that first off, the training minigames (excluding climbing) are entirely mouse-controlled. This is most likely due to this game being made originally for mobile devices. Flying training seems to be the most affected by this. Another thing I noticed is that on the menu screen, as well as the shop and race selection screens for Origin and World Champion, hovering over things no longer provides helpful text. (Again, probably because of it being on mobile) Also, for some reason, the flying animations in Evolution for the birdy duck, beefy duck, athlete duck, merduck, and supreme duck have the same wing flap as the other ducks. (Spoiler) The Cheats and Level Editor in World Champion are notably missing. (End of Spoiler)

Game Tycoon 2

Game Tycoon 2

  • First of all, this is not a Game Dev Tycoon! These two games may share similar topic, but the concepts are different. *

I’m recommending this game, because I enjoyed both first and second game in series, and there are only few games of this genre available. Sure, it has it’s pros and cons, but I think that true fans will find a way to enjoy it.

The game it self may be clunky, with not so sharp graphics, but underneath it is a true tycoon game. Tutorials may be better, but at the end it is us who needs to discover the whole game (yes, game developers wanted to be mysterious).

Not a bad game, but, frankly, it fails to reach the “standard” quality of the genre,

If you want to check, I own the majority of the “game development” games on Steam (and also some “small” non-Steam productions).

I have put this game at the end of the list and I’m really sorry to say this.

The main problems are:

  • there is a good tutorial, but this doesn’t help to understand how a game… sell! There is a strange feedback system that helps very little (there is a quality rating and a “professional” rating: this could work, but, at the end, only makes you create the best games on the market and see them selling very little…)

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom

So this is the first sequel in the Wonder Boy/Monster Land series since Wonder Boy 6 in 1994 for the Mega Drive(Japan only), but it continues the Wonder Boy III:Dragon’s Trap(Master System, 1989) concept of Wonder Boy progressing through different man-animal forms to regain his human form and being centred around a town(“Lupia”) from which you explore out in all directions, finding that on certain paths you can only go so far and need to transform to another animal or find new armour and equipment to go further. This time the concept has been broadened with all the humans in Monster Land being turned into human-animals and Wonder Boy has to find a way to restore himself and everyone else to human form with a much larger world to explore. “Wonder Boy” in this game is called Jin and is blue-haired so presumably a descendent of Shion, the “Wonder Boy” of Wonder Boy 5, who was supposed to descend from the main Wonder Boy, Bocke Lee Temjin, the blonde hero of the original Wonder Boy, Wonder Boy II: In Monster Land and Wonder Boy III:Dragon’s Trap(ok so his hair colour was changed to green here).

A graphically amazing game that loses its luster towards the end. As I’m writing this review, I’m really struggling whether it’s thumbs up or down. Technically, the game touches perfection but in terms of content the game leaves a lot to be desired. Without mentioning the price.

Monster Boy is kind of a sub-brand for Wonder Boy. Those games can be part of either or both series. This all stems from the strange licensing patterns of Sega and Westone. Sega reserved the rights to the game’s titles and characters but Westone reserved the rights to everything else. Here you can clearly see the influences from the both brands but especially Wonder Boy III.

Welcome to…hey, we improved what part 1 was a test of!!!

After playing several bad games lately, I heard this one had recently gotten achievements. So I thought…I may as well try it out…after all, it is short (clocking in at about 75 minutes for me, but taking longer to read all dialogue and try to get all achievements). I remember playing part 1 to this story, so when I saw this offer land at my feet, I was intrigued to continue the story.

Red Comrades 2: For the Great Justice. Reloaded

Red Comrades 2: For the Great Justice. Reloaded

A poor attempt to cash in on the success of the previous game, about 25% of the locations and dialogs are from the first game, when I started playing at first I though I’m playing the first game again. puzzles are TOO easy to the point where you just need to visit all the locations a couple of times and youre done. The story line is very weak, basically one of the heroes gets some brain implant and they travel to the future to get it removed via plastic surgery, thats it. Most of the characters are reused, there are maybe 3 new characters in the entire game. The game itself is very short,

This game is more of add-on, than of sequel in a full meaning of this word. Much of game’s sprites vere reused, especially in the first location, but some new characters appears as jusk reskins of those from the “Red Comrades 1 ”. Also, albeit this game is stand-alone, it’s much shorter than the previous insallement, and can be easlily done in under in 50 minutes.

Conceptually, this game is mainly focused on how in the late 1990s developers saw “the land of the free” throught the prism of the Soviet folklore. They were also making fun of some “western realities”, that have been a fashion in Russia back then. Previous installement seemed to reflect briefly the same theme whilst our stay on the “Brothel level”, and this adds more.
