Legacy Bites

Legacy Bites

Play cards to save the population of humans and the rest of the animal kingdom!

Key Features:

Random Game with optional deck building

Campaign Mode containing 24 missions

Gameplay:

The world is divided into human and animal populations. Your goal is to keep each population within specific boundaries.

A game is played over various rounds. Each round a threat card is played by AI which changes the population of humans and animals in the world. The player receives 1-4 cards for that round to negate the effects of the threat card. Although the threat card only affects populations when the round ends, player cards may affect populations that round and up to the next two rounds. Plan and play cards carefully. After the last round ends all remaining population modifiers are played out. Keep an eye out for that! To make matters even more interesting, the boundaries for each population may change during the game! And there is a round timer! You’ll need quick hands and a quick mind to succeed!

I don’t want to give this a thumbs down because it runs smooth and seems bug free. I won’t give this a thumbs up because the game execution is unimaginative.

If you want to just play hand after hand of poker with yourself this game is great. You might like the story mode. For me, having to start from the beginning after every loss makes it tedious and unamusing. Progressing through the game play was not achievable. I’ll suggest a much needed save feature.

There is nothing in this game as is that draws me to play again. In that, I’ve spent $2 for 4 hours of game play. Cheaper than a movie rental. Had the developer known anything about game theory this could have been a really great game.

I was one of the testers for this game for a couple of different builds until release. I’ve never played this kind of game before so I had no idea what the hell I was doing at first but got the hang of it pretty quick.

1. COMBO SYSTEM: The combo system works really well and is one of my favorite things. You can build either defensive combo or offensive combo. Higher D combos lead to damage reduction buffs, self heals, ect. Higher O combos lead to increased damage buffs, elemental fire sword buff(which can eliminate the need for any elemental cards if played right), to a stun at 9 combo(I think).

The game is what you expect from the pictures and videos. Slay the Spire clone with small changes in between here and there. Has lot of replayability to it and you could spend lots of time playing it.

What I find bad is that there is no support for 3440x1440 in my case, and the settings of the game can’t be changed that much so you are pretty much stuck with same resolution overall.

Cardpocalypse

Extremely Fun game with a unique and well designed card game mechanics. While there are a few things I think that could be improved, overall they really pale in comparison to the fun I’ve had from this game.

Pros

  • Fresh new card game mechanics with well designed factions that are both unique and synergistic

  • great story

  • Very replayable

  • Fun Gauntlet mode make your own deck each win with difference Champs

  • Great sound track and voicelines

Cons

  • animations and walking can get a little tedious on multiple playthroughs

This game could have been AMAZING but has some design and balance shortcomings. I’ll list them briefly then go into more detail below.

  1. No way to collect all the cards or undo certain permanent changes

  2. No real post game or new game+ to try out different deck types. Unskippable cutscenes ruin the thought of replaying the game.

  3. Some balance shortcomings can make a couple parts almost impossible in some cases, this game is otherwise extremely easy.

I still had fun with this game and not a lot of people make games like this anymore. The story and writing is charming and the art grew on me. The complaints only hurt so hard because the rest of the game shows so much promise. I still had fun with my 14ish hours of it but I wouldn’t recommend paying full price unless you really love these types of games.

Mega Solitaire Collection

This game is garbage. There isn’t an option to shuffle the remaining cards, so 90% of the games you play, you have to start over because there aren’t any more moves you can make. On top of that, the “hint"s are utter shit that tell you to make nonsense, useless moves. This game is a waste of time lol.

One of the best solitaire games on steam hands down. at 1.99 this game is a steal, the music is beautiful, the art is eye popping and amazing, the controls are fluid, the game doesnt crash, the Solitaire and piano music is a great day to wind down at the end of the day, or to kill some time. This is not just a game its an experienc.e

Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale

Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale

(Note: I betatested the mobile version and the Varfa DLC, which I recieved for free. Take that into account as you read this review.)

Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale is a deckbuilding rougelike tile game in the same universe as Meteorfall: Journeys. In the game, your deck of tiles is shuffled in with a bunch of enemies. You have to kill the enemies to get your stuff back. Your ultimate goal is to kill all the enemies in a dungeon using the tiles that are in it.

There are 5 characters, which all play wildly differently. Bruno is built to survive long combats with armor and direct damage. Greybeard can blow up enemies without even entering combat with them, but has difficulty dealing with enemies in combat. Mischief has a lot of positioning wackyness, requiring that enemies are alone in their row before you can do substantial damage. Muldorf is your resident necromancer, summoning minions to fight for him. Rose is… uh… Rose.

Very cool game. The cards use for both movement and action is very interesting and unique.

I like the characters and the levels based on sins.

The english translation could use some polishing but the game is plenty of fun anyway.

Could become good but had to refund…

I really liked the gameplay mechanics and think it could become great but in its current form (as of January 7th, 2020), the English localization is very rough with both very awkward wording and bad formatting (there are many instances of words getting cropped in half or spaces missing between words).
