Dominion

Dominion

Always heard about the boardgame but never had the chance to play it and now that i did I can see why it’s so popular!

The DA is very well done: plays smooth, good sfx, AI feels solid (haven’t tried Hard yet though). The game has already -I think?- all of the the expansions available that can be played in a 1v1 against AI or with another player online.

I must say this is very polished already for being EA for less than two weeks!

As per how stability goes, I played 3 games with a friend yesterday and we only got two freezes/crashes but we could keep playing by simply restarting the game: no game-breaking bugs found yet.

A very faithful adaptation of the famous evolutionary card game. The first one that found the concept of deckbuilding during the game. Many other games followed this inspiration, such as Star Realms, Ascension, War of Omens, for the main ones. If you know of any others, please respond.

This is a concept not to be confused with these two:

  • Deckbuilding before the game, the player builds a deck (example: Magic the Gathering).

  • Deckbuilding during the game, without being able to swap cards, during a quest (example: Slay the spire).

Hundred Days - Winemaking Simulator

Hundred Days - Winemaking Simulator

Time Played: 40Hrs

General Thoughts: Cute art, fun but unpolished niche game if you love spreadsheets, expensive for being unfinished

Pros:

  • Art is cute

  • Choices have consequences and you have to make adjustments every year

  • Each wine has its own personality and quirks to how to create it

  • I like having to make mistakes and suss out which wines have to be made which way

  • I like taking notes and refining my process

  • Chill game and late game is very relaxed

  • Devs are patching and incorporating suggestions

This game is everything you’re looking for in a wine management sim, with some fatal UI and design flaws that prevent it from being good. It is a highly complex game with a nuanced engine for deciding the quality of your wines - so many variables both plannable and random have to be contended with to make great wine. Even the progression as you get familiar with winemaking and grow your winery and its capacity is interesting. The game introduces you to its mechanisms via a cute little campaign that is enjoyable but unfortunately only does the most basic job of informing you how to work things. And now the flaw…

De’Vine: World of Shadows

De’Vine: World of Shadows

I definitely recommend this game. The developer is friendly, engages with players, listens to suggestions and is really invested in the game, releasing new features and fixing bugs.

The story is very short, you can complete it in a few hours. However, the sidequests and additional content the game provides will give you hours of enjoyment. Although I have to admit that I felt somewhat disappointed with the story, not because it was bad, but because of how short it was, it left me wanting to know more about the lore and what’s going to happen next. On the other hand, that’s good on its own way, I’m looking forward to next installment in the series.

De’Vine is a great game, it was an unique experience playing a RPG Maker game that is open world (and the world is HUGE). I really liked the story, it’s well balanced in the dark and light themes. The developer is also very responsive, he answered a lot of my questions and fixed some minor bugs I reported really quick.

It has countless features: extensive card game, survival features, crafting, farming, MANY side quests, a lot of recruitable characters, and many others. Of the many features this game have, I loved the card game. The card game is amazing, a lot of strategies to use and a lot of cards to collect. The essence aspect of the card game is also very interesting, specially for Pokemon fans. It’s like a mix between Pokemon and Yugioh.
