Greedy Dungeon

Greedy Dungeon

So far, it’s a pretty fun game. You build up your deck, upgrading cards you like, hit the dungeon to take on baddies and hopefully not die. It can be kinda grindy, but the more challenging dungeons will test your character and your willingness to lose everything if you die. For the price it can’t be beat.

Dragon Creek

Dragon Creek

Before I get into this review, I will definitely state that this game is honestly not for everyone. In fact, the game is very niche- which is not a criticism, but it is something to mind when contemplating purchasing this game.

The game is very simple, but its simplicity is the beauty of it. You can generate a dragon at the shrine, train it up, battle it, and rank it up.

If someone is looking for a farm simulator with dragon training, this is not that game. The farm can be upgraded, but all upgrades pertain to improving your dragon’s situation. The only thing remotely akin to farming is purchasing the plot upgrades- which you cannot place yourself- so you can grow your own food so you do not need to buy food for your dragon as often from the food stand.

Wow, Dragon Creek. Where to begin…

It’s so adorable! It’s a simple, cute game about raising your own dragon. You have 4 different species that you can get, them being the European Dragon, the Eastern (Lung) Dragon, the Cat-Lung, and the Wyvern. There will be more species on the way too, so keep an eye out. The dragons can be generated through a randomizer or you can put “codes” in to create your own. (Hint: Try messing around with specific dragon names…) You feed, pet, and wash your dragon in this game.

Beware that initial playthroughs may frustrate you. It is recommended you start out with the Warrior and the Shield icon, it’s just easie to surviver. Also you need to remain picky about cards. If you die, you have to start over. You can save after each battle and you can kill program if you’re losing.

Really love this game. Graphics, music, mechanics, it all comes together very well and it’s highly addictive.

Much less random than other rogue games like Darkest Dungeon and more strategic, giving more choice each turn. It also has more interesting cards to offer than most deck builders and a game board adds brilliant chess like strategy element where position matters a great deal.

Story

At the beginning of the game, you select and play as a hero. Long ago, there were legends of a place known as the Grand Forge. This was a city whose citizens were so adept at creating that they could bend the fabric of reality itself, using their skills to create whatever they wanted. The story begins three years after something called the Steel Curse has blighted civilization, causing black iron gates to crop up and manifest countless waves of monsters within the walls of major cities. The hero you select will gather an army (and minions and strange cards that do other things) and traverse the levels of the dungeons in an attempt to quell the monster attacks forever.

Out of the Park Baseball 22

Out of the Park Baseball 22

I have been playing OOTP off and on since it was in single digits. I have a love/hate relationship with this game. So, let’s talk about this dysfunctional relationship a bit.

First, how do I play? I am only interested in GM with slight manager touches - typically, setting lineups and pitching roles, and team strategies - because the AI is atrocious at this, but I hardly ever manage or watch a game. I just sim sim sim. For me, I like to do the majors with fictional players, or a full redraft of real players and go from there.

Real player with 2341.3 hrs in game

I didn’t want to buy this game at first, given Out of the Pockets’s complete and total greed with their Perfect Team system. However, OOTP came out with some nice updated graphics, a cool new tournament system (Perfect Draft), and made promises to fix one of the largest and most glaring flaws with the Perfect Team system : live players being trash tier in comparison to pretty much every single historical equivalent.

Okay, so…how’d they do?

Graphics : Are updated. But, now, it is clearly noticable that the attendance, no matter the era you play in, is full of cardboard cutouts. Literally. Your in-stadium audience is a bunch of flat, lifeless sprites. Now, I don’t know if this is a graphics option you can turn off or not, I have yet to look. If it isn’t….100% fail. Sorry.

Sid Classic

Sid Classic

I’ve played sidstory for a long time back when sidstory was a mobile game. It was honestly my favorite game on the platform by far, and is basically a perfection of the gacha genre. There’s a huge amount of sidians in the game, and the game encourages collecting a lot of sidians because of the shifting bonus multipliers. You can get a lot as an F2P player, and I met several friends through my circle back in the mobile days.

Honestly, just seeing this game come back made 2020 for me, take that as you will if you’ve never played it before.

Real player with 4088.0 hrs in game

I’ve been a fan of Sid Story since it was first a mobile game in 2015. Recently it got shut down due to some disagreements with the mobile company, I think. Either way, it is back on PC only for now until they get the rights back to put it on mobile. So, basically, this is a typical gacha game but on your PC, formatted for mobile and a bit awkward on screen.

The gameplay isn’t the greatest, I remember when I introduced people to the game when it was on mobile that “it sucks, but it’s good.” Simple gameplay but oddly addictive. They give you enough new cards to get somewhat easily so you don’t feel like you’re getting too much or not getting enough. The art is amazing and when it was on mobile new cards were being made constantly. There is also competitive circle rankings and mileage events which all provide great benefits. The mobile game also had a PVP element that was in beta but is not currently in this version.
