EndCycle VS

EndCycle VS

Picked this up earlier, and found it to be quite fun. It’s similar to the old Megaman Battle Network series for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance, a series I used to love a lot. It’s fast paced with unique mechanics, as well as mixing in some old ones with a unique twist such as the CRUSH system(Think guard break from other fighter games). It’s a bit different from Battle Network 6 in terms of combat pacing, but you have a lot more weapons you can use to control the battlefield as well as your deck being more consistent since you have access to all 12 weapons in your deck all the time, with cooldowns for differing levels and weapons.

If you want a game that plays similarly to Battle Network, then EndCycle VS is the game for you. I know I’ve been having a blast with it in the 109 hours I’ve already clocked in at the point of this review.

First and foremost, this game offers a very unique twist to the Battle Network “grid fighter” formula, by replacing the Battle Chips you would burn through with VOC’s that you can keep on hand at all times. Sure, you’re more limited when it comes to how many you can use during a battle, but that’s why you have three different sets you can shift through in the middle of the fight and change up your play style on the fly. It takes some getting used to, though. Even now, I’m still trying to get used to it, though that’s due in part by most of my time being eaten up getting into modding rather than the competitive scene, but I’ll get on to that subject later.

100 Hours. Wow.

So where do I even start? This community is wonderful, compassionate, and caring for everyone in the tavern. If you find any trolls or general annoyances, a simple report and a minute or two will sort the problem with in-game moderators to the case in a very short amount of time. The devs can also be found often playing games and in taverns, welcoming new players, answering questions, and even sometimes subtly hinting at new plans for the game. There is no Pay-To-Win at all in the game, not even if you wanted to. If you did want to support them however, you can buy gems which use real world money and go straight to the devs and back into the game if you use their website. These gems can be used to buy cosmetics and a premium pass.

Constant executable not found or disk write error when trying to launch. Previously had to keep reinstalling to get it to work right. Work around being to launch the game is through steams current downloading folder and engaging the exe from there. This occurs no matter what drive I point it to for the install be it my SSD or my HD and is the ONLY game this happens with out of all over 1000 of my other games this has never happened before. It makes it a pain to have to launch all the time.

With that said, despite what a pain it might be to launch the game it’s worth it. The only thumbs down I’m giving is for technical issues which aren’t addressed and not to do with my side of hardware. The community is helpful and nice, the game is a great idea and well implemented. It’s an all around fun game that I think might develop into something even better. It’s not pay to win in any way, anything purchased for currency is cosmetic only which is really nice. Everyone has equal chances at getting to the same place just some look fancier than others.

GOC Royale

GOC Royale is a massively multiplayer card game that takes place on randomly generated islands.

See a mission assigned to you by your monarch, compete against other teams in death matches, and be the first to complete the objective to win numerous items that will serve you later.

A GAME RESOLUTELY DESIGNED FOR MULTIPLAYER

  • A Quest Mode - 20 teams on one island starting at the same time. You will all start with the standard equipment. The first team to complete the mission can aspire to bring back numerous items that can be used in Arena or Survival mode.

  • An Arena Mode - Compete against other teams in merciless death matches and reach the top of the leaderboard. In this mode, you choose your equipment from what you have already collected.

  • A Survival Mode - A persistent island that you can join at any time for a chance to win exclusive content. You will find squads equipped with their best gear. Epic battles in sight.

If you prefer to compose your own team, you can add bots with you and influence them during the game;

MANY RACES AND CLASSES TO PLAY WITH

  • 7 playable races - Each with 3 exclusive classes and specific nerves towards a given statistic.

  • 36 playable classes - With specificities that will greatly influence the course of the game and the behaviour of your squad.

  • Endless team composition - Play it balanced or go for it all. See the future, increase your vision on the map, trigger crafting phases, summon powerful monsters, heal a lot, or not at all… Compose your squad wisely!

ISLANDS FULL OF SURPRISES

  • Randomly generated islands - The islands are all unique and full of locations that will help you improve your equipment.

  • 3 different biomes - Each with unique traps and monsters based on specific characteristics. The choice of your destinations will be crucial at the beginning of the game depending on the balance of your team.

  • 100 unique monsters - All with different synergies that will make every fight a little more epic. The harder the fight, the more rewards will be handed out.

Your monarch awaits you. Will you be brave enough to answer his call?

Valve got greedy.

Apparently Valve forgot everything they learned from TF2, CS:GO and Dota2. Making fun games fully accessible to everyone. Online games without players and communities are destined to fail.

But… Nope. Valve decides to exclude 90% of the World.

  • Pay for the game.

  • Pay for cards to play the game, making the best cards the rarest and therefore most expensive. (when they said power level wouldn’t be related to rarity)

  • Pay to enter prize modes.

  • Take a % cut of prize mode entry fees.

Valve has literally abandoned the game…

Edit: 13/03/2021

This game was so hyped at the time, and for me, the gameplay lived up to it for me when it launched, it was so different from everything that I’ve tried before and I did not even know Dota 2 universe… But after years waiting for something, it’s finally Official, both versions of the game, Classic and Foundry, will not be in further development… Here is some of the main things that were impactful during all this time being a casual player.

Spectromancer

Spectromancer

This is not a TCG (trading card game) and that’s what makes it so great.

There is no card collection or deck building, each game you get a random selection of 12 basic cards out of the game’s pool of 48 basic cards and 4 special cards from the class of your choosing.

“So what if I get completely screwed over and only get bad cards?” - That doesn’t happen because a) the game is incredibly balanced, every card has its use and strength b) the selection isn’t totally random, the game makes sure that you have 2 healing cards every game and that it’s a fair mix of low and high cost cards ad that you always have board clear cards.

Real player with 309.3 hrs in game

Recommended ONLY for single-player mode’s interesting challenges. In multiplayer, those who buy the expansions and use the newer classes have massive advantages.

In SPECTROMANCER, you play as a magic caster that has access to 5 ‘elements’: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and (whichever class you choose) and the play is similar to the combat between players in a trading card game like Magic The Gathering. Each of the two opposing characters take turns casting spells of different costs. You gain 1 point of energy in each element (plus your chosen class ‘element’ (such as Cleric, Mechanic, Illusion, etc), and you choose which spell to play or creature to summon. To me, the biggest draw to the game is that once the match starts and you see which spells you have, you can play the same spells over and over if you choose or save up for a more powerful spell.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist

TLDR:

Objectively speaking, if you want to play Yugioh in 2020 (or beyond) don’t buy this game since it is the now “outdated” version. You probably want the version called Yugioh Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution . That version is updated to the latest Master Rule 5 where you can Link Summon and also you are no longer limited to summoning from the extra deck to only the monster zones that are pointed to by Link Monsters.

Here I am again, for one more review!

A past few weeks ago some people did asked me to post my review about this

game that it is one of my favorites (not to say the most) since I have been

playing it (the TCG format) profissionaly back to 2008-2009 and 2011-2015.

Yu-gi-oh, as far as I remember have always been an inspiration in my life:

teamwork, friendship, hope, courage, determination, respect, honor… some

of the aspects I’ve learned from this franchise since 1998 that influenced

me to pursue my dreams and realize what I most want. I even decided,

Castlehold

Castlehold

Was looking for a game that was fun but not as addictive as MTG Arena.  This is it, although I’m not quite sure how much longer the fun is going to last.

The pros:

  • fun game design that promises quick gameplay.  There’s no point in alt-tabbing during your opponent’s turn, because you want to see your opponents play in real time. The game is usually over in less than 8 turns - and if it goes longer then that’s where the game gets really fun and interesting.

  • no lag issues, good graphics and artwork, decent sound effects.

Real player with 67.0 hrs in game

Castlehold has a quite simple base principle, which is quite a bit different from most card games. Players have only a single life, and units move around on a battlefield, and I like this principle.

At the moment the game is still in a quite early phase, and it is quite rough, however, the developers did quite a good job in the last 3 days to patch the game.

  • Start player advantage was made smaller

  • First balance patch was applied, which makes a certain 2 card combo less dominating

  • Several performance patches were deployed (and some bugfixes)

Epic Card Game

Epic Card Game

Extremely interesting gameplay, like a mix between Magic the Gathering and chess, that is, more thinky than MtG and more luck-based than chess. The game is a carbon copy of the physical card game with the same name: Epic Card Game.

The app is made by a small group of people, and it is not perfect by any means, but the gameplay is so rewarding that it is well worth it. I have played at least 1000 games during the alpha testing in the last couple of years, and I look forward to 1000 more.

Pros:

-free to play

Real player with 4561.5 hrs in game

The game itself is very good. I played with the physical cards before trying out the digital game, so I had some familiarity with the game to start.

There are some significant issues with the digital version. The most annoying of these has to be the time limits. Presumably, they exist so that players can’t just run the clock down when they get mad and lose. However, the time limits are prohibitively low. The first time I did a dark draft, I timed out on the drafting process. The first time I played constructed, I timed out during the game. I just timed out of another match that was pretty even and could have lasted a lot longer. This is coming from somebody who has played the game a fair amount. New players will probably find the time limits even more restrictive, and I can’t see them sticking with the game.
