Automobile Tycoon
Well… it’s not bad… but it’s not good.
I’ve burned quite a few hours in it, and keep coming back because I’m a car junky, but when I want that fix, I’m more often reaching for Automation, Gear City, or Production Line, and honestly I still prefer running Detroit in DOSBox, which this is supposed to be a spiritual successor of (it doesn’t catch the same magic though)
This is a decent spreadsheet simulator (turn off the inflation, or you’ll spend all your time micromanaging prices because costs spiral quickly but there’s no option to scale the selling price with inflation) but it isn’t really a car game. You could replace the products you’re making with just about anything, and change the R&D tree. Feels like it was built to be modular but then didn’t take off so they didn’t push it out with other assets.

It is an enjoyable game. It provides different starting conditions which provide longevity. The drawback is that it does not provide clear cut challenges and it feels more like a big sandbox, which should explain some of the earlier bad critics. If you have no need for step by step challenges (like objectives or do this and that), you will find this a very nice game.
I personally dislike these step-based gameplay, where the game leads you through specific paths. so this game is my piece of cake.

Just bad. It is basically saying yes or no to everything. It is not as fun as it seems.

The Last Federation
How do I explain this? Bullet Hell meets Civilizations in Space?
You have 8 races, all with very identifiably anatomies ranging from small furry barn-owls to Metroid style Chozo-esque utopian robots to a planet of robots who act like Bender from Futurama to a warlike crab? people (what the hell is a Burlust). The main game mode has you trying to make a unified Federation to stop genocides like the one that happened to your awesome 4 headed dragon race. You can research technology on you rown or with other races to improve your relations with them, help build structures on planets that can either strengthen defenses, help production/livelihood, or just make a bunch of TV channels that help different races learn that they’re not supposed to hate everyone.

There is a lot to say about The last federation that already has been said by people better at this kind of stuff than me, but another voice in the ether never hurt nobody :)
Right of the bat it should be said that the general concept is a twist on the old grand strategy formula of “unify the world to win” but excecuted in such a way that your character aren’t a contestant among others as much as the one that decided that an ensured galactic peace is something to work for. As such your job is to first create the federation, and then persuade the eight races of the galaxy to join it.

GearCity
I got this game ~16~ days ago (edit… 22 … maybe 23…. thanks steam…. did anything important happen in the last three weeks that I should be aware of?) …. I’ve played 300 hours, which says something about the immersiveness of this game.
By far the best business management game I’ve played. It’s truly a master work of the genre. I tend to like strategy games, sports management sims and art tools, this draws a little bit of inspiration from each. When you need to take a break from the day to day plan of building a massive automotive empire, you can exercise other parts of your brain tuning up new engines, or designing the look of your next (hopefully) hot selling vehicle. This ability to shift gears keeps the game engaging.

At over 800 hours I can safely say Gear city is a great simulation/game venturing more on the sim side. It has come a long way though it still has a few minor quirks that irritate me, however most of these will either be my own opinion (and yours may vary) and some are due to engine limitations at the time the project was started. That said the game is very playable and provides a lot of fun. Eric (The Developer) is fast to get back to people and help you solve issues and answer questions, he has been constantly working to make this game even better. I only took a break from the game because every time I hit 1930 in game an update comes out and I have to start over so patiently waiting for 1.25 RC2 which should be the last time you have to start a new game.

MONOPOLY® PLUS
This game is so much fun for the whole family! You get to roleplay as Mr. Monopoly man’s henchmen; people are saying that the game is glitchy and crashes a-lot, but I disagree! It only crashes when you SUCK at the game haha. Anyway, I totally recommend this game for any hard-core video gamers, but also casuals alike! Bots are really fun to play with because they make me feel adequate in my life.
I just don’t understand the hate for the game. Mr. Monopoly gave me this nice Kool-Aid and everytime I play the game I just have a blast… :) 10/10

The game is great but there is one problem. The NAT type problem. For some reason this game has a weird system where most of the time you have a strict NAT type which means you can’t join online games with friends so it locks you out of the fun part of the game. Additionally Ubisoft have done nothing so far and you have to port forward whatever it is in your router in order to fix it. This is the only game that has this problem. No other game has this problem to what I believe. The main game is great but connecting is the biggest problem this game has.

City of Gangsters
An amazing game overall. I would like a few more features though, such as the ability to export goods to other cities, mansions that you can buy, maps based on Boston, New York, and Philadelphia, and the ability to buy off the mayor or even run for office.

Great management style game. Don’t expect a game with heavy fighting as this is not the focus of the game. It’s really how to max profit. Easy recommend for me.

Suits: A Business RPG
ENGLISH:
Instead of translating my French review, this will do: Suits is an amazing RPG. From the “lore”, to the battles, to the black-and-white universe, to the humor and the characters. I had a blast playing it, getting the achievements, and I’ll do another playthrough often.
FRANÇAIS:
- voix off *

This has been a little game I had under my radar for a while mainly because I like RPG Maker games and the business theme looks pretty interesting. Plus it had a similar art style to OFF and while OFF was okay, it’s art was pretty interesting. So is it good?
Story:
In a world where corporations run rampant, companies can bribe to get what they want. women are treated as mere plants that look pretty and the mere act of refusing a product is enough to land you in jail. In this world, you live as a simple drone until events happen that put you in an adventure that might change the world.

Democracy 3
pro’s
-
in depth simulation
-
easy to play somewhat hard to master (not to much of a difficulty curve)
-
the ability to use loopholes so that policy’s pay for themselfs, but is punished by triggering a event.
con’s:
-
populations stay fixed.
-
the rate at which people seem to convert to other political ideals i quite fast. (not quite realistic how you can transfer the whole country to atheist in 2 years)
-
population stays fixed and does not create problems. (if this would be too hard for starters please add an option to turn this on and off)

Even though I think the game should be played by anyone who enjoys simulation games, I found a lot of negative points that kind of ruined the experience of the game for me:
-
The game feels super linear. There is an option for randomizing initial conditions that improves this, but if you don’t play with that, there’s basically a very narrow path of choices you need to take to ensure you’re not overthrown and win the game.
-
There is no “just one more turn please”. You either win or lose, and when you do that’s it, it’s over.

Gamedev Beatdown
The game is awesome. I had fun playing and making different decisions for my games and felt addicted at some stages. Non-game developers will definitely get an idea and insights into the game development process after playing this game.

Gamedev Beatdown is a turn based action rpg game with a quirky story depicting development of games in the gaming industry.
The game revolves around different playable characters from different departments of the gaming industry and gives the player a unique incite into the decision making that goes into making a game.
Even though you will end up making difficult choices that can impact your game in terms of sales or customer satisfaction, the game has a pun based humorous dialogue lines that will make you laugh and make the tough decisions look trivial.
