Gnomes Garden Lost King

Gnomes Garden Lost King

eJaw made an OK job doing this sequel, it is more refreshing than the old ones. Sure the completion script is faulty but it only fails if you use the restart button so it’s not a big deal. Plus the change of developer gives more consistency in the difficulty ladder (duo to some actual game testing), and a face lift, though it leaves me wondering why they had to follow the gnomes theme and not try what eJaw could have brought to the table. Too bad these companies never want to release even the slightest of updates to fix such obvious little bugs like the restart/completions issue. Well worth the 49 cents!

Finished the game (49 levels) with all achievements in 8.5 hours.

The graphics are nice, the story is ok, but due to “improved” level design you may end up stuck after doing half the level because you should have spared some resource (e.g. stone), which is NOT fun. No previous version had such irritation.

Additionally, the game is buggy:

  • sometimes (frequently) it stops detecting fulfilled goals, so you have to go back to the map and replay the level

  • sometimes (not so frequently) it never finishes removing the mound (the hammering just goes on and on - you are stuck - replay the level)

On rails shooter + good graphics - a bit slow = Narrative experience in futuristic world. Avoid obstacles and collect crystals. Could use more enemies or obstacles to shoot.

Hey hey, people.

I was not expecting a Sseth review on this. Welcome, Argentinians!

I’ve played it for a long time.

This is intended to be a spoiler free review.

Let me lay down some stuff, you will be able to tell if you’ll like it or not.

Your first playthrough is going to take a while and it will be fun. You’ll figure out the mechanics, make mistakes, reload some saves, make some profit, then eventually come out on top. Everything feels great, the ending is wonderful, it’s a complete experience all its own.

Finally a game where I can live out my fantasies of becoming a merchant who crushes hearts and dreams under the weight of his fat profit margin. Y’all can keep your Poorly-Lit Life Forces 2 or whatever the f♥ck it’s called, Recettear blows that all out of the water.

Ok first of all you play as a loli. Don’t be deceived–beneath her cute, naive exterior lies a heart as black as coal and a mind as shrewd and cunning as they come. This little sh♥t will bleed you for all you’re worth with mark-ups that would make Best Buy blush. And she will love every minute of it as she watches you carry your broke ♥ss out the door with a ham sandwich. Thank you and come again mother f♥cker.

Winkeltje: The Little Shop

Winkeltje: The Little Shop

This is a great little shop management game!

I look forward to seeing how it develops over its time in Early Access.

Things done great:

  • The villager AI is spot on! I haven’t had anyone get stuck in my store. I also like how the expectations of the customers seems to align with the items your store offers over time. I was worried when I moved away from produce toward a tailor that customers would’t get the picture, but after a couple of days they stopped hounding me for apples!

This game is a gem, plain and simple. It’s made for a very narrow spectrum of gamers though, you’ll probably know if it’s for you by just looking at the screenshots and reading the description, but I encourage everyone who is even a little intrigued or who enjoys relaxing sandbox style games to give this game a shot. Everything you see and read about it is what you’ll get when you buy this game. Nothing more, nothing less. If you bought this game and don’t like it, it’s because you didn’t pay attention or had unfounded and unrealistic expectations.

Furry Shakespeare: Oops! All Dragons!

Furry Shakespeare: Oops! All Dragons!

I do so enjoy these quirky little stories! Oh and I totally am not even slightly biased at all about the cast of this one all being dragons ; p

What can I say if you have played any of the games by Stegalosaurus and enjoyed them, this one will bring you more of what you have enjoyed in the past. Humor? Check! Strange unexpected plot twists? Check! The option to take things seriously and try to make the right choices, or say to Hades and blow it all up on purpose? You bet! Opportunities to meddle in other peoples lives and relationships, while pointedly ignoring your own? lol of course! hmmmm here’s a new one, love triangle???? Well some one does mention the idea…. But I havnt found it yet (although the two who “play” brother and sister would really make for an incredibly confusing one! lmao I can see it now….. but yeah that doesnt happen).
