末日杀 Might & Trap: Apocalypse

末日杀 Might & Trap: Apocalypse

Can’t resize things, and in fact if you try using unity command lines to resize it yourself and window it, it MAXIMIZES ANYWAY. The in-game option to window it doesn’t let you change the resolution, so you just have a giant bordered window. Why the fuck would they not only exclude basic options but refuse to let you resize it with unity’s built in tools?

Wave Break

Wave Break

A fun and unique take on THPS style game.

  • Be warned that the game has a very steep learning curve, especially if you’ve never played a THPS game before. If you have, you should feel mostly at home, but the game does offer unique twists and differences in gameplay that you will need to get used to and master.

  • There is a lack of tutorial apart from the very basics, and there is a lot of vital information that the game doesn’t tell you apart from the occasional tip during the loading screens.

TLDR: This game is a lot fun playing solo or splitscreen with friends, especially for fans of THPS looking for something new and different!

Let’s get one thing out of the way, this is not a 1-1 recreation of a THPS game, and it isn’t trying to be. The controls are familiar if you’ve played those games, but a bit looser (Byproduct of riding a boat rather than a skateboard) and there are some differences like initiating automatics (this game’s manuals) or reverts that while easy to get a hold of will require some conscious effort to not rely on muscle memory for at first if you’re a veteran of that series. However, outside of its clear influences, this game has a style all its own! The visuals are fun and colorful which are a nice contrast to the more muted color pallets of other games of this type. The characters are animated well and the written dialogue doesn’t take itself all that seriously adding some charm to it. If you are a fan of Synthwave music this soundtrack is heaven, pairing very well with the art direction making it very easy to get into a relaxed flow with the mix of chill and upbeat tracks. I’ve had fun with the campaign maps I’ve played so far and am looking forward to the rest. The single player will have you completing more traditional goals like high scores, collecting letters, landing specific tricks and even collecting secret tapes, but there are also a handful of “story missions” for each level that have you completing tasks that showcase some of the more unique gameplay features in this game like the slow motion shooting while you complete various Miami Vice influenced objectives based around running product and encountering undercover cops. From my brief experience with the park creator, I have high hopes for what the community adds to this game over time through Steam Workshop content as there appears to be a wide variety of options and I can see multiple people collaborating on a park in a session together being a lot of fun! Multiplayer has been a chaotic blast and having a deathmatch option adds some nice variety to the standard time attack and free skate modes. I would however like to see more game modes from both skating and shooter games added in the future for example graffiti, HORSE, capture the flag, king of the hill, etc. Overall I would say if you are on the fence about this game based on what you’ve seen so far, I can confidently say it is exactly what it advertises itself to be and the quality is there so please do yourself a favor and give it a shot!

Moonshine Maniacs - A Wild West Saga

Nothing big, but promising! I really enjoyed playing it so far. The game mechanics are clean and the pacing is fast. I kinda feel a bit like back in the 90s, where its just you and your gun.

I hope the developers will put some more maps and modes in it :)

So there is still space for improvement. Good luck!

A beautiful handmade Wildwest Arena Shooter with some really nice guns.

The weapons play well, the movment feels nice and fast, cool setting and a lovely design.

You can connect easy to a server and start to play alone or with your friends.

What else do you want?

A beautiful and simple arena shooter with charm.

For around $ 10 you can definitely buy it (and you should do it)!

Friendship Club

Friendship Club

Friendship Club is a great little top down arena shooter, perfect for sitting an the sofa and playing with friends.

With randomly generated levels and a heap of different modes to try, this game does not get old, me and my friends always have a good time playing it. Friendship Club, without fail, takes me back to being a kid sitting on bedroom floors, playing games!

I wouldn’t normally recommend early access games, but Friendship Club is definitely amongst the more polished ones. It feels like a playable game rather than one pushed out far too early, and with regular updates its nice to see the game grow as the development continues!

Friendship Club is a great game, with great art, design and music.

I love the fantastic variety of modes and the ability to customise them to your heart’s content. I especially enjoyed Bullet Hell where the bullets literally never stop flying and Trick Shot where the game turns into a quick thinking vs. puzzle game.

The controls and menus are simple, colourful and perfectly pitched for a party game. The matches get crazy hectic and it really is a lot of fun.

Can’t wait for the introduction of the single player mode to iron out my strategies too!

Soldat 2

Soldat 2

It’s a good, fun game, but still lacks a fair bit of refinement.

Hit registration is absolutely horrendous at the moment. You throw a knife at someone, you can see it hits the mark, because it then stops and drops to the floor, but no damage is done.

Similar thing with sniper rifles. You see the bullet pass through the opponent and it does zero damage.

Grenades. Sometimes you hit a person with all 3 grenades and they still don’t die, but they throw just one back at you and poof, you’re dead.

Player balancing system is just silly. When you join a server with an even number of players, you become the poor soul that is going to be tossed back and forth between teams whenever the team you’re in exceeds the other team’s score by 2 (flag caps or bases occupied). You might get thrown into the opposing team just as they’re about to lose. Lovely.

I wouldn’t recommend buying this, even if it’s for nostalgia purposes.

The game is literally dead, whenever I attempt to play there’s noone online on any servers - I’ll join a game and play with bots for a while and occasionally 1 or 2 people may join but then leave after 10-15 minutes.

There’s no Oceanic community, that’s for sure. The only community is a few Russians and Germans that sometimes populate their server, but other than that - it’s essentially dead.

There’s also no effort to boost the player population, such as creating communities for specific regions, simple things such as in the Soldat 2 Discord you can create a rank specifically for their region so people can tag @Oceania or @Australia “let’s populate a server” - there’s none of that or anything close.

Humans Vs Ghouls

Humans Vs Ghouls

Humans Vs Ghouls is an online top-down shooter following survivors of a ghoul apocalypse that blast foes to live another day. Create your hero to earn blasters and equipment along the way to kill ghouls and survive the night. Based on the college game Humans vs Zombies, players will be put on either the human or ghoul team. Humans have ranged blasters to keep ghouls at a distance while ghouls will need to get in close range to tag humans and swap their team.

Text in italic are “suggestion comments” and have nothing to do with the review itself.

As I am completely new to the Comanche franchise and its control type (simulated flight control), I had a hard time getting used to it, as it was a massive steep learning curve to even learn. Currently I am looking forward of mastering it, but I have already been smashed versus players that play games like these for almost a living (if not a hobby) that use HOTAS. They are a whole other league, lol.

Hello, all. I’m MadCat - a member, and content creator for the North American eSports organization known as Rogue. I received this game for free upon the partnership of the developer/publisher with Rogue.

I’d like to thank the entire team for the lovely opportunity!

After playing the game for about a full day’s worth, I’ve come to the realization that if you want a game that feels like a simulator, get Comanche. Despite the simulator feel, it’s incredibly easy to learn and tricky to master. It features tutorials of increasing difficulty and also includes a free-range weapons training mode which is just what you want and need to hone your skills. For Early Access, this game is well-made and has very little issues. An absolute must if you enjoy 1st/3rd person aerial combat, sims, or just incredibly fun games that have action, attention to detail, and realism in store.
