Patch Quest
THE GAME
Patch Quest is an amzing Roguevania that, as the name suggests, combines gameplay from the metroidvania and the roguelite genre. This is resembled by the overworld map being fixed, with shortcuts to unlock all around the world (and the world is pretty big, trust me) but the actual things that are on the map are random each time you start a run (monster encounters and terrain, basically). I adore this aspect as it allows for really fun and varied gameplay while still keeping some of the things that make the metroidvania games great. The game also has its roots in The Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon, which is very noticable if you’ve played them before jumping into Patch Quest.

9.5/10
Absolute Gem. I picked it up a few day ago and I keep playing it almost every night with my wife. We both love it.
Pros:
- Your ride determines your skills and the fruits are your bullets.
! You can catch up to 5 pets that can let you ride on, or help you in fight.
-
It is so easy to pick up as what you have to do is just dodge, shot, occasional catch and use your skills.
-
There is a good and simple story.
-
The graphic is excellent. The pets and the backpack are so cute.

TOKOYO: The Tower of Perpetuity
Very good daily run roguelite tower climber. The lack of a primary attack and reliance on a single slow-recharge bomb makes the entire thing feel a lot more like a danmaku game than a platformer. Characters are pretty diverse and have completely different styles of bomb attack which leads to needing to play them in completely different ways. Using the foxgirl you need to hold back and allow the missiles to home, while the maid boy (cute) needs to get very close and whack into enemies. Powerups being random and tied to player corpses makes each run feel just unique enough to make you change up your playstyle, but the powerups are weak enough that succeeding in a run still feels like a test of skill instead of luck.

even though it’s in early access game you can still enjoy what the game offers! the gameplay is very fun even without a “normal attack” as you journey through the tower you learn you use your skill better and find better items to assist you.
the graphics are amazing and the pixel art style just has a unique charm that just makes everything so cute! the game reminds me of older arcade games I used to play
the game easily worth $10 and can offer tons of fun.
the social features are very fun and I hope that they get expanded on more!

Rising Hell
If you’re browsing reviews and trying to figure out if this game is worth your time and money then here is a quick answer for you: YES. It’s a must have game for anyone who enjoys action packed platformers!
What attracted me when I first saw this game was its overall concept. I will keep it simple for you: you control a demonic creature who’s mission is to escape Hell. And you gotta love the devs take on Hell in this game. It’s basically a vertical tower-like place which you have to ascend in order to make your way out of this demons infested nightmare. Pretty creative in my opinion. So I guess that makes it a vertical action platformer where you fight through hordes of demons trying to ascend higher and higher.

I’ve been eyeing this game for a while, waiting for it to enter full 1.0 release. I bought it immediately, and so far, I am so, so impressed.
The core controls are simple: you have your attack, you have your jump (which doubles as a cool aerial finisher), and you have your i-frame dash. It’s simple, but it works; movement and attacking is buttery smooth, and opens up the real core of the game: the platforming and movement. The platforming and environmental design is simply wonderful. You’ll be double-jumping and wall-clinging around as you endlessly climb upwards, using enemies to bolster your height as you dodge saw blades, spikes, and burrowing thorns. As a huge platforming fan, I’m very pleased to see it have such a strong place in the core game design, especially on special zones like the Slaughter Spire, which has you rushing upwards using enemies as platforms while a row of saws rises quickly beneath you. It’s challenging, it’s frenetic, and, most importantly, it’s a ton of fun. It’s also worth mentioning the aesthetic is great, too - backgrounds, enemies, and traps are very detailed without becoming cluttered or unclear.

ScourgeBringer
Faster than Lightning
In Short: ScourgeBringer will keep your heart racing as you struggle to keep up with its frantic pace. However, once you manage to, you’ll be addicted. It’s unforgiving; each area has its own learning curve, and the tolerance for error is minor, resulting in a satisfying experience. Unfortunately, there’s a lack of variety, reducing the replay value, an important aspect of a rogue-lite. With that said, I enjoyed the game, and I would recommend it - just keep your expectations in check.

ScourgeBringer gives me strong vibes of various games. The artstyle reminds me of Hyper Light Drfiter, the moveset reminds me of Celeste, the combat reminds me of a easier version of Sundered. As a roguelike dungeon crawler, the flow is fast and fluent. The enemies are easy to handle if you can find the rhythmn that suits you well. Overall, the experience is pleasant and quite fun.
Things I Love About ScourgeBringer:
1. Satisfying Combat System
Speed, fluency, and reflex are the core elements of ScourgeBringer. At first everything might seem too fast to handle, but once you get a hand of how the game is designed to be played it’s really satisfying to pull it off. Fast sword slashes allow you to shatter foes within seconds. Dash is not only your evasive maneuver but also an offensive tool to dispatch weaker enemies. Gun Turret provides huge fire power to burst down stronger enemies. Smash is the most useful of all. This special attack offers several ways to help you prevail in battles. It’s a strong attack which can knock foes away from you or stun them when they perform attacks. You can also use Smash to reflect projectiles back to their owners. Utilizing all of the above to their full potential yields a great combat experience.

ReversEstory
After playing the mobile version (which is great by the way), this definitely feels easier but also more fun with some added movement options. It’s a fast paced shooter/platformer with some replay-ability and different characters each with their own playstyles and bosses. Overall, not too heavy on the bullet hell aspect.
The translations to English isn’t perfect, but still understandable and the UI was clearly designed with mobile in mind and could use some adaptation to PC/controller/mouse.

Coming from the free mobile release, I’m gonna say it right here: the PC version did not meet my expectation. I do recommend the game still if you can go past the issues, or at least play the mobile version.
The controls just hardly translate well from touch screen to controller (or keyboard). Also, since the game got no way to change your controller deadzone, it’s very easy to have the experience messed up by a very slight drift of your joystick, making your character jump in a direction even doe you want him to jump without moving.
