Love this game. Does a great job of easing you into a chaotic bullet hell. The music makes it feel that much more intense which puts a unique and needed flare to the genre. Challenging, but rewarding!

At first I thought “hmm, this is pretty easy!” - no, it gets harder. Sound track is on point, too!

Absolutely love the balance of tension. It’s definitely exploring things left untouched in other re-interpretations of this classic, feels like the ultimate version of the brickbreaker genre.

omg, the hexagonal enemies are amazing for all the rebounding goodness, but the little orange rounds are complete nonsense.

Drawkanoid: Satisfyingly Chaotic

The premise of “Breakout but you draw your paddle” sounds interesting in theory and is actually really interesting in practice. The visuals do the game a huge service, especially when you manage to get an insane combo. It’s a nice game to come back to every so often and (unlike say “Super Hexagon") becomes more a game of endurance and in the moment decision making rather than one of reflex.

I’d recommend it! it’s like… the price of a lunch… and you get to keep it too. Definitely gonna play some more of it!

Bought it for $0.10.

What kind of game would you expect which costs less than a tesco white roll?

And still… it gave me ten funny arcadish minutes.

Definitely happy bunny!

Bought it for about ten cents with one of those steam coupons. I didn’t expect much, well it costs as much as a bubble gum. And it gave me about as much fun as a bubble gum.

You have a space ship, flying around and killing other space ships. Half of the features implemented don’t work, and it feels rather bad to steer. It’s the kind of game you do when learning a programming language, and as it was made with unity, it took the creator probably 10 minutes to create. It is definitely not worth the 99 cents, but for 10… Hey, it’s ten minutes of fun.

While I haven’t finished the current content quite yet, what’s there so far is quite promising. I’ve been a danmaku shmup enthusiast for ages and, while I usually tend to prefer having a tiny hitbox, no shields, and one-hit death, the way this game integrates the shields, health, and movement speed into passive mechanics you can choose between is definitely intriguing, especially when paired with the ability to combine a wide variety of shot types.

The pacing could use some work, with the difficulty being very slow to ramp up (especially for someone already comfortable navigating through curtains of bullets) and with some of the levels feeling like they drag on for a bit longer than is welcome. Because the pacing is already being worked on, though, it’s very likely this will be ironed out before its final release. There doesn’t appear to be any storytelling to speak of in the game, which made it challenging for me to stay engaged, but there is the potential that later on, the gameplay will be enough of a challenge to entertain me all on ts own.

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, ‘If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.’. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- ‘Don’t ever smoke. Please don’t put your family through what your Grandfather put us through.” I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this game gave me cancer anyway.

Apparently the blast zone is actually quite large. BlastZone 2 is a short indie side scrolling shooter (ala R-type but I wouldn’t say this game is that similar to R-type) made by solo developer Mat Edzenga. It features a number of different ships with different load outs, 8 stages filled with enemy ships, interesting 3D graphics and a few extra modes to try your hand at once you have beaten the main game. It also has local 2 players, controller support and costs only a few bucks.

Redd’s Runaway

This is a tale about pain, suffering, and vengeance; about hope, compassion, and mercy.

Inspired by the Red Ridding Hood’s tale, Redd’s Runaway is a run and gun action game, combining a frenetic playstyle with an aesthetic reminiscent of the traditions of Halloween and the Day of the Dead, in a short experience aiming for a great replayability.

  • A run and gun 2D game, inspired by classics like Megaman X, The Adventures of Batman and Robin (Mega Drive) and Ghost n’ Goblins.

  • Get inmersed into a world infused with the Halloween and the Day of the Dead mythos, where ghosts, monsters and demons appear at every step.

  • 6 worlds, each one full of enemies and a level boss.

Redd was an orphan adopted by a master sorceress when she was just a baby. She has learned a few spells specialized in offensive tactics, to protect other people from supernatural menaces. She believes that life, as is, is chaotic enough, and is willing to help others in need against the creatures of the Underworld. After joining the Legion of Sorcerers in her adulthood and starting her training, tragedy struck her life when an unknown attacker killed her mother. With a scar as a reminder of the event, Redd suffered a deep trauma, which left her confused and depressed, pushing away her best friends and teammates.

When Brock City is under invasion, she will use everything she learned to fight along the Legion and defend the innocent, learning new spells in her way to stop this nightmare. But this event may put her abilities and strength at test until its last consequences: moreso, her true believings.

Join Redd’s journey to stop this supernatural invasion and the mind behind this nightmare.
