Hey ma i’m a Dragon Now

I’m a beta tester and this is what i liked about the game.

I like the cut scenes. They are humorous.

The bosses add the right level of challenge.

You can buy power ups using in game currency.

You can play in different Modes to make it more or less challenging.

This game is pretty fun to play.

Vinios

Vinios

According to Steam’s achievement lists, I’m most likely the 2nd of 13 total players to have beaten 5 levels of this boring and monotonous shoot-‘em-up. It’s got 50 levels, and they’re all just the same but slightly harder, taking longer and eventually introducing a few new enemy varieties. Probably, at least, since I gave up after the sixth or seventh level and thus never saw if there were enemies introduced later.

The lack of much other than “hope to be randomly given an overpowered weapon” is annoying, as there’s no special attacks and weapons don’t last forever, so you can’t stick with your favorite for very long, and there’s basically nothing to do except avoid bullets, fly near all the point items, and shoot down all the enemies with auto-fire.

In this video I take a look at Vinios a beautifully made vertically scrolling shooter.

I loved this game! It’s only $1 and the music alone makes it worth it. It’s a mellow scrolling shooter with great visuals and for it’s price range it’s really well made. It has all the pickups, enemies, and levels you could want for that price range and it’s just really relaxing. The enemies bullets are a little hard to see initially but you get used to it and find yourself weaving in and out of their barrages. It’s quite an enjoyable game. You can’t go wrong on this title it’s just too darn cheap so check it out.

Cycle 28

Cycle 28

An excellent game! While fairly minimalist in design, this game is a lot of fun and has deep replayability. It really nails the feel of a slow build-up space dogfight, where skill wins out over an increasingly large number of enemy ships. As other reviews point out, the game is relatively short (if determined, you could get most of the achievements/“win” in a few hours), but there’s always the lure of climbing higher on the leaderboards to draw you back. The game narrative is also rather good-with bits and pieces of the story passed on to the player, in often surprising ways. In total: Cycle 28 is really awesome and a steal at its current price. Highly recommend!

What can I say about Cycle 28?

One of the coolest Indie Games I’ve played in a long while!

It’s visually stimulating, it’s constantly changing, enemies are tough as nails and i find myself always trying to get that multiplier up and up then get a single shot at me to slow down my progress to my personal best and high score. BUT i just want more and more….

Keyboard controls are not the best for this style of game so get your controller ready and you will pick it up in minutes.

Now after you get the score you’ve been desperately fighting for over and over and over you wonder what’s the story. Now the story is shrouded in mystery and to this day i and many others are struggling to figure it out. This adds a extra level of problem solving to the mix that keeps me going back for more…… oh ye and that highscore of course ;)

Penimorta

Penimorta

Penimorta is a delightfully charming yet challenging bullet-hell experience that is chock full of stellar sprite designs and thoughtful level design. The movement is fluid, controls easy to handle, and the presentation of the game itself is quite polished. I was incredibly pleased with Penimorta and would emphatically recommend it, although it had just one minor qualm which I will address later on in the review.

Let’s start with the sprite design. Penimorta’s enemies (and especially its bosses) were incredibly well animated and aesthetically pleasing. The overall quality of the artistic direction of this game is superb, and easily makes it stand out among other similar indie games. The mage (the second boss of the game) had one of the best designs in the game, notably because of how well his appearance changes accompanied his second phase. The enemy attack patterns never felt boring, and were rather refreshing due to the pleasant palate of colors selected for their pellets/bullets. I also appreciated the slight distinctions in color and shape for the enemy bullets as it helped make navigation and movement more refined.

This game is great, but the snake boss is the worst thing to happen to humanity. The entire game before the snake boss was easy, I only died around 3 times before it appeared. I hate the snake boss, please make the game more balanced.

Edit #1: Turns out that the warden (the final boss I think) is even worse than the snake. It has basically every negative affect, and for some reason there is a cage it randomly puts on you without any sign, the cage moves randomly too, damaging and blinding you whenever you touch it. I could keep on complaining but that would take a while. But please just balance the game, everything but the last 2 bosses is like 1/8 of the difficulty.

It is a good game, however this game should come with a manual but for future reference, z to play x to shoot. you can’t use mouse to move but rather the up down left and right keys. It is not a must buy but if you are a pro mover then it’s a must buy game. It is hard to defeat but not impossible. This game doesn’t have any sexual content or nudity. A game just for fun.
