Soundodger+
The sequel to the semi-popular flash game Soundodger on Adult Swim Games, Soundodger+ offers much more in terms of difficulty and replayability.
If you haven’t already, check out the original on Adult Swim, here (it has half of the levels, and the same gameplay): http://games.adultswim.com/soundodger-puzzle-online-game.html
Though it may be easy to jump right to the level editor or auto-gen mode, Soundodger+ is mostly about its single-player experience. There are many edge-of-your-seat moments where focus and concentration are key. This may not be apparent from the first few levels or trailer; the game starts off slow, easing you into the later levels with simplified versions of the patterns; it feels a little too slow moving in, and you need to beat ~10 of these levels before the advanced levels can be played. This is my only real gripe though; the level of polish and love put into the later levels is evident in spades. (Look for advanced levels indicated by a black background.)

Soundodger+ is a rhythm-bullet hell game in which bullets spawn from enemies on the outside of a rotating circle in time with the music. You must dodge them on the inside of the circle. The main game includes 20 basic levels, 18 advanced levels, and 5 heart levels. Each of the advanced levels is an upgraded version of one of the basic levels with harder bullet patterns. Levels are unlocked in sequence by getting enough score on all the previous levels. Each advanced level also contains a heart bullet, which if collected acts as a free hit. Heart levels are unlocked by finishing the required number of advanced levels with your heart intact, and consist of two upgraded basic songs and three all-new songs. The game also comes with 12 DLC levels for free, which do not contribute to the main game. Finally, the game includes a level editor and auto-generation feature so that you can play levels from your own songs.

TAOTH - The Adventures of the Herkulez
The game has an interesting mechanics using your mouse, with some little twist to it every few levels.
After the first run in easy mode, which I found challenging enough, I was hooked and went right away to play it again in the next difficulty level. Despite basically going through the same levels again, it does not feel like a repetition but a natural continuation of the game due to the faster pace and more difficult obstacles and enemies, as well as some additional challenges here and there. Overall you’ll get a lot of fun playing time for a small little indie game.

Legacy of the Elder Star
One part of the game that i really enjoyed is the feel of the controls and the speed of the game. Too often in SMUPs i’m cussing at the game because controls are slow, unresponsive, and based off of memorized patterns. I would find myself getting into position before the next wave arrives. When you fail in a scenario here, it’s because of your own responsiveness and it’s easily recognizeable.
That being said, there is sufficient challenge and creativity in the waves. Throughout the levels, each one was unique and brought a different challenge to face. One thing i notice in a lot of games is that level after level is another case of ‘same stuff, different level.’ Same moves, same patterns, etc. I really thought that each level was dynamic and would build off the previous one.

What this game does, it does extremely well. The music and art style fit perfectly. I really love the mouse controls, especially when using the star dash secondary. It really doesnt feel like any other shmup out there.
It is worth noting however that there isnt much of it, I personally unlocked everything there was to unlock after running through story mode 4 times and this took me about 2 hours playtime. Once this is done you have 3 unlocked game modes to try out. I personally feel that it a little backwards to unlock practice mode to try out the levels after you have completed story mode. Gauntlet mode lets you attempt all the games bosses on a single life, this is defintitely not something I see myself doing :)

Strangely Addictive…
The game mechanics are simple and very easy to pick up. I had a blast eating cubes, circles and triangles and it’s very satisfying once you beat a hard level. Definitely worth the price and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase it.
But I do have some minor complaints…
1. The projectiles that follow the player are the worst thing about the game, they are the hardest thing to dodge and maneuver. I would have liked them to be introduced much later towards the end of the game.
2. Level progression doesn’t always make sense… Some levels are much much harder than the level before it.

A wonderful little game that shows that for a great game all you need is a compelling gameplay mechanic and a great soundtrack. The 40 main levels provide a good amount of challenge for the ridiculously low price point. I’m looking forward to trying to beat the game as quickly as possible. My only main suggestions would be small additions to add some replayability to the game such as a timer for speedruns or maybe a challenge mode where things shoot twice as often or something.
Overall, definitely would recommend for the price. It is a joy to play and listen to.

Phoenix Force
If I could describe this game in one word… it’d be…
Lazy.
Look, I wanted to like this game, I love boss arena bullet hell games. One hit kill? Bring it freaking on! Taste the full color spectrum of mythical birds with unique elemental stuff? I’ll get my box of cereal ready! HELL YEAH WE’RE GONNA PECK SOME… oh.
So by boss Arena you mean have tough (high hp) enemy sway side to side with an attack gimmick. Ok…not much of a boss but ok…do they multi phase at least? Well if by multi fast you mean they throw in an additional attack and attack faster then…sure. They have a “Final” attack that if you do enough damage to them you can bypass…and that’s about it.

First of all: This is not a classic Shoot’em Up, because all you will be doing here is one bossfight after the other. There is no real story behind it, and if there was maybe a small table of text in the beginning of the game, I have totally forgotten about it, as it doesn’t matter anyway. This game is about pure action and reaction spread across 100 levels and even more challenge levels (if you dare to try them).
Although each of these levels consists of a relatively small amount of assets when it comes to background or enemy types, they are mixed up constantly so the game manages through this restriction to give the player a completely new challenge on each end every level. Where in between there are next to no loading times, wich makes the game nonstop action and because of that very enjoyable and fast paced itself.

Polygon Attack
Fun! old style… was great to play while listening to Howard Stern after the end of the 4 hour show i beat the game and it doesnt go any farther it resets and you start over at beginning…. also it gives 1 save slot so if anyone ever clicks new game you will lose your last game save… or if they beat it it would go back to no save file and only new game option… that kinda sucks but i enjoyed this gameplay and i feel it has replay value … was even better value for 49cents on sale … another easy completed game with full achievements fast

Skyrift
Skyrift is a reaction-based game about deflecting projectiles, and while I had a hard time with the colors, it would be a lot of fun if I got better at it. The leaderboard adds competition, too. 6/10
