Citystate II
Don’t buy.
-
Unfinished game
-
Bugs
-
The “realistic economics” in this game leaves a lot to be desired and calling it realistic is laughable.
-
The dev has been MIA since early October (within weeks of release).
-
Developer is either a huckster or lacks any sense of professionalism.
The misrepresentation that you are buying a finished game on the store page and the fact that the developer just disappeared makes me feel as if I’ve been had. The excuse on discord by some person who is not the dev is that he has a family and he takes long breaks. Make of that what you will, but I will not buy another product from this developer.

You simply can’t play more extreme ideologies anymore (Left & Right) which Is kinda where alot of the fun came from. Everything needs to be balanced. It’s okay but at some point you’ll run into bugs that remove zones not just buildings and tank everything. Tbh it gets boring after it happens a few times. Oh and after many hrs my political leaning instantly went from 47-53 to 100-0 to the left which sent everyone into a riot and the whole city was destroyed. That right there is a game breaking bug. I’d honestly say buy the first one. I’m not hating btw, I actually really wanted to like it.

Fantastic game! If you like lite sims, then this is your game.
It’s got a very detail orientated design for a game as lite as it is, its mechanics are nuanced and unique.
I strongly advise this game to anybody who is a fan of unique sims.
It has a bit of a learning curve, but never fear, its worth it!

Game description key-points: Business model on how to build a business in a bad country.
Overview: a bit political stuff with not much of details, a plain grind clicker, after some time repeated actions cause frustration.

Nice concept. but the game’s full of bugs and spelling issues and it need more QOL options.
The game’s mostly about avoiding strikes and protests, while making money. Unfortunately the UI gets in the way of it being a pleasant game.
My major gripe is regarding the amount you can buy/sell or deposit/withdrawal at once. When you buy and sell shares, you can have up to 25,600 shares in one shop, but you can only buy or sell 100 at once. You can speed it up by clicking and pressing space bar at the same time, but this still puts a ton of pressure on your fingers and hands, considering how often you want to buy/sell shares. If you compare this game to a traditional clicker, at least they have idle aspects, whereas this game forces you to click tons. It’s seriously exhausting and bad for your health. I don’t like promoting an auto-clicker (or a toggle-on continuous space bar macro instead), but I think that’s the only way to play the game without injuring yourself.

Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic
Given 9,221 hours with W&R:SR, it seems I like this game. Right now, I’m enjoying the 1908 early start and the steam-powered vehicles from the mods. I recommend the game.

After almost 1000h in game, I can say it’s undisputed champion among city builders. And it’s still EA.
Currently, the main drawbacks, especially in comparison to competition:
-
lack of comprehensive tutorial or training missions to explain game mechanics in painless way - beginners need to browse forum or ask its users for help
-
some bugs,
-
graphics are rather inferior, comparing to CS - it’s not really a game to make beautiful screenshots,
-
certain mechanics could be reworked.
-
probably game will need more optimalisation before you’ll be able to build 100k citizen metropoly

Silicon City
I really enjoy this game! The perfect amount of challenge while still being great fun and just a little bit mindless since I play to relax and not to create more work for myself. I look forward to the next evolution of this game!

Very nice take on SimCity-style games. I especially enjoy the graphs of various metrics, and ability to really drill down into each silizen’s life. I am excited for continued development and look forward to how this game will evolve!
From a playability standpoint - on my laptop (8gb ram, i7 (4 cores @ 2.20GHz)) at lowest settings, the game plays reasonably when going on the 1x speed. Either of the faster speed options causes the game to become very choppy. Even when using 1980’s top-down style it seems to be quite slow (perhaps because that’s just a different camera angle?). Increasing simulation speed also seems to mess with the power grid distribution: when my network is not super-saturated with electricity, running at a faster simulation speed makes parts of my city run out of power. But if I turn it back down to 1x and wait a bit of time, all of the buildings will come back online.

Chaotic Airport Construction Manager
Hell, what a crap. :steamfacepalm: A good laugh for like 10 minutes, but an eternal bane on your game statistics.
It is literally impossible to finish this. Even some of the harder achievements (which are doable) aren’t triggering.
Loads of achievements with neither description nor hint.
Yes, the real airport was excruciating. This game emulates that experience well. All too well I’d say, for we will see about reality in October 2020.

The thing with simulation games is that they’re either meme-ladden wannabe-satire which isn’t as much clever as it’s only bearable for 5 minutes and even that only when you’re high. Or they’re realistic, unwieldy and require a university degree to get even through the tutorial.
This one combines the bost of both worlds: it’s exceptionally realistic while being accessible. Get your own airport now*!
*or on a couple decades lifetimes eternities.

The Political Machine 2020
I played a few rounds of this game, some multiplayer, some singleplayer. Overall, I really enjoyed this game for what it was worth. The game is charming, in a humorous way. I really enjoyed the ideology system, and how it influences and reshapes the race depending on candidates are in on the race. My friend and I made some custom candidates, did stupid matchups, and we had a lot of fun just pushing the ideologies to their limit. Some of the ideologies, like fascism or giant meteorism, just end up shooting you in the foot, and its amusing to see races devolve into stupid fights between two godawful candidates.

This game needs a LOT of work, and with it now being over six months from launch I doubt that’s happening. It seems more time and resources were put into releasing the “Founding Fathers DLC” then going back and finishing their original broken product.
Perhaps the most glaring issue is that this product seems to have been made purely off some designers intuitive bias rather than any actual polling data. Universal healthcare and universal basic income are unpopular with “independents” but “Build the Wall” is. It also lists Trump’s intelligence as “smart” while Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s intelligence as dim, despite placing second in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair while in High School, being bilingual, and graduating cum laude from Boston University with a bachelors in both international relations and economics. Meanwhile the geniuses that built the game have the same issue “farm subsidies” listed twice in the policy management tab, as well as a few spelling errors.
